Older & sometimes wiser South Carolina gal here, living on the border in Georgia now. I'm a learning woodworker at best, but I look forward to seeing what you're making. I'm also a longtime fan of Matthew Peech, whom you've mentioned on occasion. I'm having to stick with what I can build using second-hand power tools. My miter saw isn't a sliding compound saw, but I'm hoping to find one used that I can pick up once I can afford to stash enough aside. I work with what I have, which is my miter saw, table saw, sander, drills & compressor with brad nailer. I use a lot of butt joints since my miter saw can be rather finicky at times, but I do see how I can modify some of your builds to work with those. Thanks for sharing. 😊
You’re not alone! I’m just starting out with the basic power tools and learning as I go. Any advice you could provide for someone starting out would be appreciated. Best of luck
I have found when using a hole drill is to run you drill backwards about a minute to create a groove then back to forward and it is less prone to jumo all over.
If you're laminating two boards from the same stock, you should make sure the grain cups face each other to add strength, and it helps in keeping the boards from twisting over time...
Ummmn did you miss the part where I explained the cup orientation and which direction they should be facing for glueing up ? lol 😂 literally showed it in the video brother James . But yes you are 100% accurate
Great projects, Daniel. What I really love about your videos, being a novice, is I always learn something. Aside from woodwork, you guys in the US have way more freedoms than the UK, for example, in the video you are holding your phone while driving, that gets you a £200($250) fine and 6 penalty points on your licence.. Oh and you don't tend to get jailed for speaking your mind on X. Keep up the great content and I hope your family have a great thanksgiving.👍🇬🇧🇺🇸
my brother your stuff rocks, remember i was asking about the xtool. man what a game changer. I have been busy working on more canes and small projects adding my own twist with personalaztion. thanks again for all of your videos,

Oh yeah, I plan on buying that Hercules miter saws. Matt Peech did side by side to his older Dewalt and said they were pretty much identical. Look for his channel. He just put out another review on several Harbor Freight tools. I just bought some chisels. I thought yeah they going to be in some kind of bubble wrap because they weren’t rattling around. I only needed to knock off a bolt and I seen the price was like 15.00 and I just came from Walmart and they had crap. So I figured for that what the hell. I get them home and open the box and they are in a fancy canvas like wrapper all laid out in separate slots for each chisel and a few punches. I didn’t get to many punches on my last round from Walmart because they bent and broke first time I used them. Harbor Freight has come a long way. I’m still wondering about those chisels. I wish my dad could have seen them. He was always trying to find deals. When he worked he had charge accounts with Snap-on and the other one I can’t remember the name. Yeah he was like you better be blond and naked if you were messing around his tools 🧰
I bought one a few months ago, and it is a monster! 68yr old lady who LOVES to make things out of wood. I built an 8ft x 12ft platform for a shed. Now on to garbage/recycling bins enclosure. Fun times! Doing some small projects too😊🎉❤
another great video. I am definitely going to make some of those for Christmas gifts. electrical work is not hard. I can do it so you could do it. I did work in a mobile home manufacturing company installing vent-a-hoods. They told me the first time I didn't have to flip the braker as long as I didn't ground myself. well... I did get shocked; wasn't the first time nor the last.
I have been dealing with cardio issues for the last 2-3 months and have not been able to make anything. I am really hoping to do so soon. Meanwhile, you keep me from going crazy since I can't do much!
Well I’m busy building the dog a house. Been procrastinating on it big time. Got busy today and cut most of my 2 x 4s. Drug out the old mitre saw and it’s definitely time for an upgrade. My problem is I’m messed up and most likely need surgery. But I was proud of what I got done. Decided pocket holes would be good but as always couldn’t find my Kreg or the knock off I got off Temu. So I headed out to Wallyworld for some exterior glue and decided to stop by the Harbor Freight store. Low and behold they had a real, fancy jig that clamps the board and everything. I seen someone review it and they said it was like a Kreg model but cheaper. I think it was Matt Outlaw. Anyway he said more than worth the money.
This is what I’ve been watching for. I came across some battery operated lamps on clearance. I want to see if I can bastardize them into something on a line with these lamps. I had seen something on them when I seen the lamps but couldn’t remember the episode they were on. So I decided the best idea would be to sit down and watch videos until I seen them. I know, 😂sometimes you just have to take one for the team. 😢😅.
Great video my friend! I love the projects. I have been thinking about making a lamp video and been trying to figure out how to display it. You could instead of wiring it into the wall maybe keep one specific light socket and wire a plug off a drop cord onto the wires and plug it in just to show what it looks like. That's the only idea I've come up with. I may make some of these soon. Thank you for the inspiration and for everything you do. You are the only creator that I know of that encourages is that want to have channels to start one and will even advertise for us. You are a great person all around!!!!
