- I meet up with my friend Ben in northern Minnesota's Boundary Waters for a couple days of kayaking, camping, and fishing! This is day one of our trip.

My first time Kayaking and this Kayak held strong. th-cam.com/users/postUgkx4k5UrhC3v_Y4hIEaXLGvHcN5a5aBmZNB The water got pretty rough as a speed boat zipped by me, and the Kayak withstood it (I expected to be capsized). The Ores are very easy to put together, the pump worked beautifully. the seats are a bit hard to sit in after a while (I recommend sitting on the floor). after reading the reviews I was very scared it'd get a hole in it, the material is very strong and durable. The Air valve may need a small Phillips head screwdriver to adjust, other than that, it's well worth the money!(update)I've gone Kayaking in 3 Lakes and 2 rivers totaling about 40 miles. the kayak had two holes and they patched easily and no other problems can't wait for kayaking season this year!
i pray that you never stop making these videos man . ive watched for years and years and i really love your channel . i dont watch tv i just watch outdoor adventure youtube channels but some of the dudes are obnoxious and over excited and silly . i love how calm and relaxed you are man it makes for a great vibe

That was a slice a Heaven. Beautiful. There is something about those shallow rock strewn lakes that spell fish to me. I crave that type of environment. If I am with others and they are catching fish in deep water, I am in the rocks and boulders. Waiting anxiously for the next video from this trip.
I love hamburger helper. It is one of my favorite meals ever. However, after a day of fishing there is absolutely NOTHING better than fresh out of the water fried fish with potatoes and maybe come corn or green beans or something like that. I can't imagine not having that on a camp out like you are on. I believe you are in the most beautiful country in the whole United States.
Seriously I've been to the majority of the states and there is NOTHING like the BWCA.... only place left like it here.

I fish in northern Ontario but your videos really have me thinking about a northern Minnesota jaunt some day. I’m just gonna concur with every other comment here and praise the quality of your videos but also your advanced fishing skills, which you simply show, not tell. A high bar and I learn something new every time I watch. Makes you appreciate how great TH-cam can be.
Did a trip with some friends to BWCA. We had the time of our lives canoeing, camping and catching fish. We still talk about it to this day. Some of the most beautiful scenery and best fishing I’ve ever experienced, except Canada. Some of the best shore lunches I’ve ever had.
The boundary waters are such an amazing place. Absolutely beautiful and the fishing is a nice bonus.
Great video and love the hat! I'm glad you offered us something new. I've been a subscriber for many years and would like to request that you expand your fishing content beyond just "fishing on the river". Show us more of who you are as a kayak fisherman. Can't wait for day 2.

Ditto! I love the river content, as that's mainly what I do as well. But I love seeing kayak fishing in different elements like this. I've done a couple canoe trips into the BWCA and never considered taking my kayak. May have to give that a try next time, especially if I can find portages like that one - holy moly that looks convenient!

Boundary Waters. Have not been up there for 20+ years. Only thing I miss about Minnesota is the summer and fishing.
Whopper plopper for the win. When I was up there 2 years ago at the same time I was using a white plopper and caught a ton, everyone else in my crew had never heard of them. Heading back again this year and I’d say everyone will have at least one in their tackle box. BWCA is a great place to fish, which is why our 14 hour drive is worth it.

In the spring, the road to Arkabutla lake blooms blue with Bud Light aluminum bottles. What a sight to behold, I tell you.

Pelagic Anadromous I Mainly just fish off banks or if I get lucky and someone has a boat. But yeah we may cross paths

That lake looks like the one we tented/trailered at when I was a kid what feels like a million years ago now. So many good memories came back, just from hearing the water, the birds and the sound of the paddle in the water. Thank you for this.

Nothing like being out in the quiet of nature on a beautiful lake on a beautiful day, got er made in the shade 😎 😅.
If you ever go back up north, other than the huge largemouth and smallmouth bass, there’s also monster pike, massive lake trout, huge walleye, dinner plate sized sunfish, slab crappie, huge perch, big rainbow and brook trout, big suckers, and giant rock bass. There’s also tons of hunting opportunities later in the season if that interests you. I’ve also heard that in some smaller lakes there are big lake sturgeon. Also heard of East Pike Lake holding some small musky.
I'm glad you don't mention the places you fish. People will go and screw it up. Every other comment about why aren't you eating your fish are the ones that screw up these places.
Where did you enter the Boundary Waters Canoe Basin? Our last trip, we entered off of the Gunflint Trail, the eastern side of the basin. I believe we entered into Seagull Lake and then did several portages, before returning to Seagull. My then 13 year old son, caught a 30.5 inch walleye, that weighed in over 13 pounds. What a memory...…..
We just got back from a canoe trip, starting at Seagull at entry point 54. Went into Alpine, Rog, and Jasper. Wanted to make it up to Red Rock Lake but never got around to it. It's such a beautiful area!
@@KyleM_from_the_Ozarks, we came out of Seagull into another lake, not sure of it's name. I took two young boys with me, in a canoe, and we drifted in some current between two lakes. One lake was higher than the other, so there was some good current coming into our lake. We drifted over and over in that current for about an hour. The boys caught multiple smallies, some over four pounds, but with every cast they caught a fish. What a beautiful experience and what pristine water. As you said, it is a beautiful area. Especially if you know what you want to fish for. I brought live leeches with me and everyone on the trip, laughed a me. They were laughing when they realized the amount of fish and the kind of fish we could catch. I look forward to more videos from the Boundary Waters Canoe Basin.a

My neighbor down the street had made an annual trek with his dad to camp and fish boundAry waters beautiful place. Great video, thanks for sharing your adventure. This 72 year old drill sergeant feels like he was there. I kept waiting to see Rogers Ranger prattle by followed by some Mohawks

Gosh darn it! I knew that I should have gone with my son on the Boy Scouts Northern Tier canoeing, fishing & camping trip (in the Boundary Waters) when we had the opportunity a decade ago when he was in Scouts.

Haven't been to Boundary Waters since 1985. All of a sudden I have the urge to go back. Wish I still had my canoe.
I've been to the boundary waters and I will never forget the experience loved every second of it. This video makes me want to go back again.

Started going to the BWCA when I was 8 years old till I was 18 with my dad. Best memories I've ever has with my dad!
I plan on taking my daughter when she gets to be around that age. She’s ten months old now and already loves being outdoors!

I got to go there this summer, with some friends! If you aren't afraid of a serious portage, go to Ella Hall lake, the fishing there is good even for the boundary waters. 19+ inch smallmouth hung out just everywhere. If you're willing to eat bass (bring spices) you can get several pounds of meat easy.

Last time I was there, on the last night we just set out slip bobbers with crawlers and left the bails open so we wouldn't have to sit and stare. We caught a keeper walleye or bass every few minutes. They went straight from the line to the plate
I really enjoy all of your videos, especially the videos of you smashing smallmouth of the river, but my favorite videos by far are these two where you are at the boundary waters. Please do more like these
