  • In this video I will wood turn a natural edge 14 inch bowl, I don’t know what wood it is but I think it might be Elm, the blank have a moisture content of around 12 %, so I expect a little warping after I finish the bowl.

    Very impressive bowl, top job. I have the same model of lathe and have struggled turning large pieces due to wobbling.

      Hi Dave, I had a friend veld a fremme on the legs of 0.5x5 cm flat Iron and on top of that I placed a playwood plate and 180 kilo of tiels, that have done amazing things for the lathes stability.. Thank you for watching.. Have a great day and stay safe 😀😀

      @@WOODTURNINGBYBRANDSTRUP thanks for passing that info on. 180 kilo's would definitely do the trick. I filled the legs with kiln dried sand but that's only about 15 kilo's so I think I will do something similar to you. Thanks again for replying.

    Lovely piece! Also good to see this function of the coronet lathe in use as I am thinking of buying one as an upgrade - very useful thanks 👍 also I wondered which chuck/chucks you use?

    • @WOODTURNINGBYBRANDSTRUP
      @WOODTURNINGBYBRANDSTRUP  3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Hi Paully, Thank you for watching .. I use Supernova2 Chucks and the jaws i used here is the 130 mm, the coronet is my first lathe and i can only say i have been very happy with it .. only thing is the weight, i added 180 kilo on the legstand and that made a very big difference .. Have a great day and stay safe 😀

    Have you secured the lathe legs to the floor with bolts?

    • @WOODTURNINGBYBRANDSTRUP
      @WOODTURNINGBYBRANDSTRUP  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      Nope no bolts, i mand a shelf and have 180 kilo on it on my leg stand .. and then i removed the rubber feet that comes with the lathe .. .. thank you for watching, have a great day and stay safe 😀😀
