When You Find The Perfect Relic Combination in Dungreed

- An accessory that increases damage at the sacrifice of speed, and a weapon that has unlimited speed. Add to that a legendary relic that greatly increases damage and suddenly we have the core we need to beat anything. That is until I screw up a boss fight and bad things happen. This has been my favorite combination so far but I still think I can find better ones. Those items sets are slowly being found. Dungreed gameplay with my commentary as always!

Gotta love df throwing the drumstick in the altar while having 33 hp
yep..
IKR!
It burns my soul seeing that.
DF: "it is homing and goes through walls!" also DF: Walks into enemies.
ThePizzabrothers Gaming also doesn’t use his Q when he needs more damage
I literally face palmed when he sacrificed it, I got to the last boss when I was only lvl 8 when I got that item, I was sad I couldn’t take it back with me.
and doesn't use special attack which is why the wand is legendary
He is more into luck than abilities, it's one of the things that takes away the flow of all his videos to me.
I like how DF was talking to us but then, “drumstick”
Fried drumstick and cymbals
the power of drumstick is too powerful for our mortal minds
Ok Chicken
The moment he left the room without taking the boss hp
*inhales*
B O I
yes
@@deeeeniiiiss yep
He did it
I’m starting to think DF is more coffee than human at this point
Ah yes he has an ivy than runs into his blood of pure coffie
Josh Schofield you mean an IV?
@@natalie8986 nope the plant. :P
Truth
Yeah. Even his voice just screams CAFFFFEEEEEIIIIINNNNNEEEEE
I love DF's tone of voice, it sounds like sarcasm all the time
Sort of a slightly "amused misanthropy" feel 🤔
That’s why we watch him :3
(That, and he’s a more determined gamer than me)
Isn't that the reason you watch this?
lol true
I think its honestly genuine sarcasm
DF please notice this, at the statue you can go through aegis, resetting your level but with a bonus of health and increased max level.
LIKE SO HE SEES PLEASE. I would like to see more broken runs and that wont happen without aegis.
Yeah also he should skill into Greed instead of Mystic, it's not only better in terms of stats, it also allows to eat more/ equip more accessories.
@@xPandamon Mythic is better for consistency. Also Crit and Evasion is more useful than Max HP. The 2nd Skill of greed is not too useful. 25 more is over the whole run, it just makes it easier to manage your hunger, but in terms of food, it less than a half meal. The last point is good, but having the most broken accessory from the start is better than being able to equip an extra one, unless you get very lucky with you run.
The last skill also decrease hunger by up to 10%, when eating foot. That means you are able to eat 1 more dish for every 10 you eat. Sounds stronger than it is.
If you've got nothing, Greed is alright. It is a pretty good endgame skilltree, but it is harder to get to that point in the first place. It's also worth remembering that shop prices won't be reduced and you will spend more gold on food. Without the extra gold income with aegis, you will have to manage your gold better. It's not the biggest deal, but I had runs where money was running low, when I bought set items preemptively.
Mythic > Greed IMO with blood of Srobeo every start there is almost no run I can't get to the final boss. Greed is more of a gamble and more reliant on luck, hoping for good food and items. With mythic, you can plan ahead and focus on stats from the very beginning. With greed, you have to take what you get and make it work.
@@Blubbii88 Agreed, the Mythic tree is by far the best, especially if newer to the game as it helps retain good items to continue getting better runs in the long run, though can get boring at times, its the most safe tree to go into.
@@RuynTheWorld I went to greed first and struggled, swapped to mystic because I was struggling, learned the game after finding the defense helper and clearing the sword bitch for the first time, though I am in my first relevel from Aegis I will be respeccing into greed. The extra accessory slot is a major benefit in a lot of cases I've found, as well as the bonus 25 food per floor means a large difference over the entire run. It ends up being 7*25 or nearly 200 satiety overall, average 3 more meals which could be a revive, more damage, more survivability.
Mystic is best for noobs to learn the game and the bosses (DF because by god if the slime maker is hard he's gonna hate sword bitch and the boss after) and greed is better for experienced players because while seemingly less consistent, It often removes the constraint of building around particular items and allows you to flow into the best build for the run. My best runs were both using the bloodstone set and using a greed spec and had 150 and 180 hp respectively when at sword bitch. One run had the blood of srobeo and I wish I had mystic to keep it but while the best item in the game, it's also a noob trap.
Strong items are only strong in builds suited for them, and still require skill to be able to benefit from. Blood of srobeo requires fast weapons and high crit chance, often leading to a more risky and less defensive playstyle as well as build, making the hp per crit gain very not worth it in terms of net HP.
I'll end this by saying this is a matter of opinion and playstyle. I prefer basing my runs off of accessories and food to consistently boost whatever weapon I find in run or from being blessed. I prefer not to build my run around particular items because I always felt I never find the items I need to best support it.
@@cereal9593 To this, I say yes, the mystic tree is more so for beginners, I'm not saying the other trees can't offer a decent experience, especially if you get well versed with the game itself, it's just the mystic tree tends to be the "safest" option to go for because eventually, you will get Srobeo and end up basing almost all builds around it (albeit very boring) and end up with a good run pretty much every time even without good luck. As for Srobeo itself, in my opinion, it meshes well with almost any build because you can spec at least a bit of crit chance (25% at least) and still be able to utilize it pretty well and just move on to other stats.
What you say is true though, it's dependent on the player for the most part, and as you gain experience with the game, it's fun to branch out, because the game doesn't revolve around one item lol
Last time i was this early DF was busy divorcing people in Stardew Valley.
He is always busy divorcing people in Stardew Valley
Nathan Shirley I was going to say that
Nathan Shirley that’s the point of the joke
I just wish that you'd use your special weapon abilities...
Same here. That wand he had is actually super strong if you spam the ability, singlehandedly carried me thru a bunch of levels.
@@smoothpickle Yes, more so since it attacks go through walls.
He dropped the wand. A homing projectile weapon which goes throuh walls which can be used with a shield. Hes right is incredebly dumb some times...
@@DerFreiegedanke The wand has homing but has very low damage compared to similar items. The wand only helps in narrow rooms with walls. Open areas, it's garbage.
He does some dumb things sometimes, but the wand isn't as unbeatable, as you people try to make it.
Yeah, the drumstick...
Has two white armor items on
Sacrifices gold candy anyways
After: 'I hope this gives me a really good accessory'
Yea
13:16 As he walks away from that healing with only 2/3 health.
Me: Internal Screaming! 😱
That was me when he passed up bringing Blood of Srobeo back with him. Item is stupidly broken.
James Langevin Ya, no kidding, especially with one of the swords he’s had before with insane attack speed.
Could probably just face tank most threats with a high enough toughness lol.
You till have hardmode and 7 more bosses D: Also that wand is one of the best item in the game. Use it's special ability.
Him not using the ability was very annoying
I saw him get it, got really excited, then promptly saw him throw it away after using it for 4 seconds it a confined room.
I like how DF sacrifices the drumstick when he's on 30HP and then he dies.
Alr but i definitely do not like that
Every previous run.
"I don't like the Red Pickaxe."
Probably finally watched a speedrun of the game.

"I found this weapon that I really like."
It's more due to the fire ball thing I believe.
keeps item with ability, does not use ability xD
Him: I want something good out of this chest!
Game: SpRInG BoOts!
The eyepatch is actually completely useless. It adds basically nothing to your dps with any weapon that has damage above like 2. It might be ok with the minigun but thats about it.
Yeah, I almost think DF is trolling us with it. It adds 0.5 damage per hit on average, but with massive variance.
It’s only useful with the UZI iirc
add 5% of chance to heal 2 hp when hit with his set so not completely useless
Art Keyos no, I think that was the Bloodstone Necklace. The Eyepatch gives him a chance to do an extra 50 damage 1% of the time, I think
@@swordsmancs Rewatched, my bad. thought it's adds crits chance not damage. well, happens
@DangerouslyFunny Good commentary - very enjoyable watch as always.
On that last boss (big sword McGee) - He likes to buff himself with little swirly red balls, which reflects projectile attacks. It's really hard to notice unless you're looking out for it.
Hopefully helpful info, either way your channel is great. Keep up the hard work.
I love your videos. Especially the dungreed ones. You just made my day. Thank you
As much as I love DF, seeing some of the things he does hurts my soul (throwing away that full drumstick)
At least he's having fun.
FOODSHOP INFO BELOW
Edit: 5:30 Never EVER get rid of a full drumstick. It can heal you twice for a good ammount and then it becomes useless but the healing stays of course. While I'm at it: it's good to keep health reducing items because if you have f.e 50/120hp and you take 10hp healing you're at 50% hp (even if you increase or decrease your hp in some way) but if you instead equipped few hp reducing relics and be at 25/60 hp (theoretically) if you take 10hp healing now you're at like 58% hp instead even if you swap your relics again. Also if you take hp% increase in the foodshop it also adds a value to your max hp and doesn't multiply your hp for the rest of the run instead so it's good to equip all of your max hp increasing items before getting hp% up in the foodshop for more max hp
12:50 boss' spawns only care about your X position and not Y so you can jump on top of thoss 2 platforms on the far left before the boss spawns
15:40 Nitro gauntlets actually deal a TON of damage especially on that 3rd charged hit. Good against certain bosses, not good basically anywhere else due to very low range. Lasley f.e (who by the way can deflect bullets back at you when he spawns red eyes around him) is going to suffer from these very much.
Keep Blood of Srobeo on you at all times when you have 20 mystic as it is literally the single best item in the game
Foodshops appear usually if not always 3 "corridors" away from the entrance to the floor (so without any teleports, walking on foot through 3 room connections - basically 3 rooms away from the entrance to the floor in a room that you can get to by walking through only 3 rooms on foot) (I believe it's common for the 1st floor to have it 2 rooms away instead. Also it could be less than 3 but that usually happens when the entrance is connected to 2 rooms that form a straight line and do not branch out) and usually if not always the foodshop will be on either the left or the right side of other room (meaning that it cant be in a room that you can get to by walking through 3 different rooms on foot if the 3rd room you walk into (not counting the entrance) you walk into from below or from above. You will find a foodshop in a room that you walk into from the left or from the right) so f.e getting to a foodshop can look like this: from the entrance to the floor: go 2 rooms up/down, then left or right. Or it could be: 3 rooms left/right/ 1 room down/up, 2 rooms left/right/ 1 room left, 1 room up, 1 room right. But it cant be: 3 rooms up/down/ 2 rooms left, 1 room up/ 1 room right, 2 rooms down (in the order they are listed)
@That_ Dude You almost always have around 35% crit chance when the game starts getting harder and when you start taking damage regularly throughout the dungeon (if you're not op anyway). Because decent crit chance is very common in dungreed this item will always have effect no matter your setup. When you consider that healing from the foodshop really isn't that reliable as not only it doesn't heal for too much but you also eat before you even lose any hp (because as I said foodshops appear close to the entrance) for the sake of increasing your stats so you don't lose any hp and also the fact that those fairy healing that spawn in the dungeon are purely rng based in their appearance you might honestly just not find nearly enough healing before the boss. Blood of Srobeo not only gives you very powerful due to it's extreme consistency and value healing that keeps you healthy before the boss but it also provides healing on the boss fight itself. In most cases it's simply a better hp regeneration tool that any other combined (minor spoiler: later you get a focus tree in the training menu where for 10 sp you can get 2hp restore per every room cleared of enemies which if you're doing just fine is going to be enough. However healing on boss fights can still come in handy depending on the boss and your accessories).
Honestly there's not that much to it. It's simply really good in every scenario.
@That_ Dude I think I should specify it a bit more. On rare occasions it's better to choose something else instead of BoS (like in the choose one of 4 items room). For example on one of my runs I decided to take rapier of super speed instead of BoS because I already had that rare accessory that shoots fireballs and because I was confident in my performance and I considered my stats to be pretty high on that stage of the game (and also lacked a good weapon) I thought that those 2 items combined will be better for me because that item set is just that op. BoS is still the best item in the game on it's own and the best item to keep if you have 20 mystic because of it's consistency. It's the most useful item on average. The power of item sets might prove itself stronger than BoS but you shouldn't aim for it while deciding which item to keep at the end of the run. The decision of passing BoS should only occur during the run if you're guaranteed to get something better or at the end of the run if you're going for that specific item set from the very start and are willing to fill the shrine fully like 20 times to get said item set for 1 whole run. It's better not to rely on rng because on average it's simply not worth it (when it comes to getting certain items f.e. not talking about increasing your evasion etc. as it will have many opportunities to activate during the run and it's usefulness will hardly be affected by rng luck throughout the entire run that way)
Tossing out the hammer for insane crit chance while having an item that heals from crits... that one hurt.
Had he of switched out that for the hammer, tbh he probably would have won that extra healing makes a HUGE difference.
@@ThundrStrik i think what he means is blood of srobeo heal from crit so he should keep that hammer for more crit chance
@@joinsonbenjamin4651 I was agreeing with him and venting. at the end of the run he didn't have the highest crit chance (which should be your only focus really when you have blood), and he gave up an amazing 22 crit for 8 defense
I am too deep in the DF rabbit hole
I have watched every one of his videos and every time he uploads I drop everything and watch the video
Im so glad I found this channel is grow to be my favorite
Fun fact: You're supposed to talk to the lady at the altar once you reach level 30 to reset your level and gain an extra 2 skill points.
That Red pickaxe weapons is one of the best in my opinion.
Man I love you're vids
Advice for DF: The food shop is always within 3 rooms of the entrance to the floor and can only be accessed on the left and right sides, making it really easy to find.
I think it isn't a hard set rule, as I've found it 5 rooms away before, though it 99.9% of the time is within the 3 room radius
18:31
This gives a whole new meaning to "I'm crippled with Indecision"
Just a tip for the fight with Lasley. Pay attention to the floating red orbs around him. While he’s in this state, bullet projectiles are reflected back to you. That’s probably why you were taking so much damage at once.
Yay! I've been waiting for this all day
I really like your videos ! Keep up the great work
Undermine., Dungreed, Slime Rancher and probably 6 or 7 moire; I just keep getting games after seeing you have fun goofing around in them.
That healing on crit item is the BEST thing you can have in the game . Made me go thru all the way with a crit based build on the speedster costume and some speed upgrades
Heeeey glad you're enjoying the game
"The game suddenly want's me to have these big chests" Wow df, i wish i had the same.
Don't you love it when he just doesn't click the "Q"or"E" button?
Food shop is almost always within 2 tiles of the place you entered, usually on a left to right or right to left entrance.
Dash is absurdly useful, its free damage in most cases. Practice with it and it will help you a lot avoiding damage and dealing damage.
Killing a certain amount of enemies with the spatula blue weapon unlocks a hero with the defense bots regenning shield always, also stacks with said second shield
One of the stat things has a extra accessory slot I think.
I don't know what is up with me. I never play these games.
But watching this guy is so addicting.
The foodshop is generally close to the entrance of the floor and is always on doors to the left or right, thus not up or down. You can generally find it earlier on the floor by taking this into consideration.
the sattelite set and lara's magic wand slander was beyond criminal, DF just jumped blindly into a room full of enemies without looking or paying attention for a solid couple of seconds, and then blamed it on the poor set for not giving enough defense for it, as well as not using the absolutely beyond useful skill for the wand or the fact that since it is homing, whatever is going on in the screen doesn't matter since you don't need to actually aim and can entirely focus on dodging, which he for some reason wasn't doing, and instead kept moving his cursor around while jumping like a headless chicken on the attacks
The red pick is really good with the right set up, in the world record speed run its the chosen weapon
Damn dangerous, that's pretty funny
everyone: "dF uSE YuOR God daMN iTem aBilITiEs"

did anyone else see that crit for 69 damage that i'm too lazy to go back and look for again?
nice crit
I was screaming THE HEALTH as you left the boss room lol
Three advices. Food shop is almost every time in the 1-3 room from the enter, so try to eat food at he beginning of the floor. Don't forget about skills (weapon and off hand), they are quite useful, especially on Demon Hand. And for the weapon like Bounty Hunter (that shoots as fast as you can press the button), use a macros. You will melt bosses
DF:It shots as fast as you klick.
Me:Autoklicker. Please.
U always make me laugh so hard I wish u had the most subs in all of yt
Good man right when I am board before bed ;)
Dude, that was an amazing run, though. That boss is one of the most annoying things ever, and here you are nearly killing it after only seeing it once before!
The food shop is always near the entrance of a floor, so always go left or right first, and if it does not appear on room 2, take the other direction.

YOU FELL FOR IT FOOL!! CROSS SPILL ATTACK
13:03 it absolutely melts

That want is strong AF. The special has a short cooldown and dominates!
Stacking Defense usually is a bad idea, as the damage resistance scales really poorly as you get more and more of it. Search to stack Evasion instead, as while it isn't a direct damage resistance, it'll help you more as you can completely negate most hits if you get a few due to it's better scaling. Also, try to balance the Health% and Health+ foods you eat, as together they result in more total health if well balanced.
Also, at the hub world, use the aegis. While it resets your level to 1, it permanently gives you additional stats as well as one permanent ability point. You can Aegis up to five times, at which point you will have the most power you can begin with.
Lastly, please use your dashes! You often let yourself get surrounded and do not move out of it until you tanked alot of hits, dashes were made for this!
Special note: grilled mushrooms are the best common foods for DPS upgrades, cinnamon rolls being the best rare foods for DPS upgrades
if you go to the altar lady and choose the aegis option you get extra stats and +1 max ability points but your level resets and its very useful if you want to progress further because its very very hard to beat the game without upgrading your stats. also you can pray with just about 60% of the bar full and still get nice stuff
Thank you for this amazing video
Waw, a frequent upload? I'm starting to like this guy.
Ah yes the r a p e r of super speed
Heres some advice:
- DASH, Jeez.... the dashes boost your dmg significantly and help you dodge a ton. Practice using it
- The food shop will almost always spawns super close to the entrance so dont wander too far (Lunar desert is the hardest to find)
- USE YOUR ABILITIES, the wand has a q wish increases its damage by a boat load. If you used it you would've saved a lot of health and time!
Other things: (advice that is really not worth listening too because you should play the way you like)
-Try maxing greed to pump up your stats for the late game
- Having def at 60 and evasion at 40 basically secures your run. (If you know how to dash -_-)
- One of the best runs ever is having high health and def while carrying spiked sheild and bloodsomething sword
The sword increases 10 pwr for every 50 health and the sheild converts half your def into power so its tanky with decent dmg
Bloodstone set + Maxed greed + 10% hp necklace and all the flat max HP food you can eat, my best run by far. I believe I had 220 hp, 60 defence, 35 evasion. I died to the thot after sword bitch after finishing chapter one (avoiding spoilers even though the game isn't that new.)
Finally someone else is playing this game
When will he ever learn that the eyepatch is a TERRIBLE freaking accessory. even when he is using fast attacking weapons it's almost never procing and is such a waste of an accessory slot but he seems so obsessed with it.
with a chance of 1% and 50 dmg on proc, that thing averages a +0.5 dmg per hit. pathetic
Haven’t seen a comment about this but DF, Lasely (that last boss you fought.) He occasionally puts up a red aura (the eyes that float around him) that reflects all ranged weapon attack back at you. That is why you are taking a crap ton of damage from him. If you are doing a ranged weapon build, you have to time your shots against him. I prefer ranged weapons myself. If you get the rocket launcher and the magical magnifying glass, you will deal so much damage and the reload speed isn’t bad either.
two things
blood of srobeo is super good! you should take it with you every chance you get, and then build crit chance and/or attack speed.
also, the ice stage's boss will always stop being stunned after you've done 1/4 of its health. so you'll almost always fight it in four waves, unless you have something that does more than 1/4 health in one shot!
DF! those little pink sparks heal you i think. make sure to use them on low health!
13:16 I cried as he walked away from the health
blood of srobeo, the red dragon killer and the flame thrower/minigun with scatter bullets are the best items in the game and you should always pick them up (especially the blood because if you get the right setup you regen 4 hp a second which is incredible)
The joy I feel when I realize that there is a new DF video to watch is only matched by watching YT compilation videos of people attempting acrobatics and failing horribly.
Little tip for that last boss the faster you kill him the first time (before the fire fills the bottom) the less health he has when he come back each time
DF last video: *finds the red pickaxe* -30 power and defense?! No thanks.
DF this video: i actually really like the red pickaxe
That scythe is the weapon of choice for speedruns. I would keep it.
What the... This build is so OP :D Sad that final boss killed ya
I think adding item options to sets could work well.. like some different weapon options for slightly different effects/play styles. It would make them easier to make and give some cool variety.
I can’t count how many times I wanted to scream at him to use his E ABILITY
For the set up you hand since you were constantly dashing I think the accessory that makes you invincible when dashing would’ve really been of use at the end
[pop]
*< N O I C E >*
That turkey leg could heal you on the first run
You can reset your level at the alter lady to gain bonus stats and increase the amount of skill points you can spend
quick tips usually the food shop is in the first 4 room and only have side entrance
thing i really want in this game is that items combine- you get two of the same item in a run they combine and you get one and a half times the stats or two times the stats of the original item or if like in the binding of isaac if you get an item once you cant get it again like im starting to hate to see certain weapons- esp if they drop from a boss= red blood long sword or blunderbuss im looking at you!!!
If you max out the health skill your max saiety increases, food uses less saiety and you get another accessory slot which is really useful.
Yeah, WAY better than Mystic. That tree is just bad. Easier beginning (which isn't hard anyways) but much weaker late. Also more HP which is the best stat by far since it scales with every defensive stat
Love this game please keep playing it
>DF tributes the drumstick instead of eating it
*sigh*
With the special ability of the meat leg being eating it for food, it physically hurts me every time you tribute it away.
Respec to full defence for: heal until you have 30% of max life, get Riot shield and Baton (6 toughness) -> you will out heal finall boss (almost) but it's eazy mode.
PS: you can "respec" to increase max skill poins and some Hp and power.
Keep going DF. We believe in you!!!!!!!!
^_^
12:15 it seems shin malphur(the bounty hunter with the golden gun) is a subscriber because he doesnt just let anyone borrow his gun you either have to be a god or have killed/have the ability to kill a god
When you forgot that you can dash to get out of harm.
"Indecision? Boy is that a sword made for me"...or is it?
Your voice sounds really familiar, like something from my childhood
I love this series.
God I hope he keeps the blood of Srobeo. Also DF Lasley has a projectile reflection aura that he activates when you shoot him. You know it's active by the swirling red particles that surround him occasionally.
