Indeed it is does, Han Solo’s DL-44 blaster is a modified Mauser C96. Basically all Star Wars blasters are modified WWI and WWII firearms. In fact, some blasters are just stock weapons like the MG-34 which became the DLT-19.
Wars still happened during the Olympic truce, the area around the Olympics were considered sacred and no armies could pass unless they turned over their weapons to the host city, then pass through until reaching the other side, then given back their weapons. Athletes were given special passes during times of war that had to be honored, and nations would provide escort until passed to another nations border guards. There was even a time where the host city was attacked but it was because the truce period decree wasnt received yet by the aggressor, who then stopped the attack and had to pray to Zeus in front of everyone during the entirety of the games. They took that shit serious.

I like how the Civil war meme has the Dutch included, while all they did was pulling the OG move of selling weapons to the rebels. They were an ally of the UK or something, so the UK told them to stop. They then just sold the weapons to smugglers from their carribean islands instead.

The Mauser C96 was the basis for Han Solo's DL-44 blaster. (kinda obvious...)

The C96 didn't become obsolete that fast.
To have the magazine in front of the trigger might seem to us like an awkward design nowadays, but the pistol is completely functional.
In the 1930's Mauser even developed a fully automatic version of it, called the M712.
It was exported to China in large numbers to be used in the ongoing civil war.
Especially in combination with the stock and the detachable 20 round magazine it was used like a carbine or submachine gun and actually pretty effective.
I think the main reason world superpowers lost to those three countries is because of terrain
