That parenting metaphor is quite on point, the way I see it. This is the way I think about religion as well. We all start life with parents, and in the background, there is still some of that need- we all need to feel loved and guided. It's understandable to want to have an eternal father watching over us, guiding and protecting us. But we have to guide and protect *ourselves* . WE are all we've got.
I had one Christian tell me that even by what it planely says that " we dont know that God accepted the sacrifice" ....they couldnt understand how i found that wrong on so many levels😡😡😡
I, on the other hand, have a perfectly routine, conventional relationship with the "son avatar" of the Invisible Creator Godhead of the Universe. The one some humans executed 2k years ago.
Jim Castleberry's morality is horrific, based as it is on the 'moral nature' of the God of the Bible. In other words, God's actions, as described in the Bible, are objectively a model for virtuous human behavior!
What's even worse is that Jim won't say that he disagrees with his deity's morality. He's runaway every time I've asked him if he'd allow himself to be sacrificed if his deity demanded it. Total lying hypocritical coward.
The intellectually and morally bankrupt Jim Castleberry has no answer to the points raised in the OP. Nor will he have the guts to answer any of the questions that could confirm or deny the truth of the OP.
@@JimCastleberry "You atheist trash have no answers to the devastating proof that atheism is morally bankrupt" Run away little coward. You are too scared to answer my question: If your parents were convinced that God told them to sacrifice you, would you go voluntarily? Answer the question or continue to prove that you're a lying hypocritical coward. While you run away from the truth of your cowardice remember that your deity - according to your own collection of fantasy short stories - is a prolific slaughterer of babies, infants, and children. Your deity is also guilty of impregnating a 12-14 year old without their consent. You have no claim for morality.
Repent and believe in Jesus Christ for salvation. Become a new person in this life........... John 3:16 KJV For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life. Matthew 4:17 KJV From that time Jesus began to preach, and to say, Repent: for the kingdom of heaven is at hand. 2 Corinthians 5:17 KJV Therefore if any man be in Christ, he is a new creature: old things are passed away; behold, all things are become new.
*But how do I know that there is not something different altogether from the objects I have now enumerated, of which it is impossible to entertain the slightest doubt? Is there not a God, or some being, by whatever name I may designate him, who causes these thoughts to arise in my mind ? But why suppose such a being, for it may be I myself am capable of producing them? Am I, then, at least not something? But I before denied that I possessed senses or a body; I hesitate, however, for what follows from that? Am I so dependent on the body and the senses that without these I cannot exist? But I had the persuasion that there was absolutely nothing in the world, that there was no sky and no earth, neither minds nor bodies; was I not, therefore, at the same time, persuaded that I did not exist? Far from it; I assuredly existed, since I was persuaded. But there is I know not what being, who is possessed at once of the highest power and the deepest cunning, who is constantly employing all his ingenuity in deceiving me. Doubtless, then, I exist, since I am deceived; and, let him deceive me as he may, he can never bring it about that I am nothing, so long as I shall be conscious that I am something. So that it must, in fine, be maintained, all things being maturely and carefully considered, that this proposition (pronunciatum ) I am, I exist, is necessarily true each time it is expressed by me, or conceived in my mind.*
The phrase "intellectual gerrymandering" is exquisite.
Mental gymnastics isn't too bad, either (when taken in the same context, of course).
Martin is a font of amazing language. I miss his perspective.
I plan to plagiarize that.
Any claimed relationship with an imaginary sky fairy is, by definition “weird”.

Christians are fine with slavery, insisting it’s “just” debt slavery, but run when asked if they’d be a slave as described in the Bible.

Of course the gorgeous have said no to the human sacrifice,c that is immoral...but god is very immoral
Gorgeous?
There are ways to prayer that are NOT “asking god for things”.
Strawman.
Do some fucking research.
I'll do some fucking research if you give me some fucking examples to illustrate your fucking point. Deal?
Prayers of thanks?
Prayer is entirely a psychological coping mechanism
