      That's Clarences guitar. It is just before the pick guard switch. But, that is it. Enlarged sound hole, solid black wretch fingerboard.

    I've always been wondering about this cover-shot. Why hasn't he got the strap on? Why is is just like, carrying it. It is virtually unplayable in that position, without the strap around the shoulders. It seems so... hmm... random... Maybe I think too much... Anyway - best version of this song ever! Tony Rice all the way!

    • @jordangunit3078
      @jordangunit3078 8 ปีที่แล้ว

      Look closer. he's in a chair.

    • @Kalikomik
      @Kalikomik 8 ปีที่แล้ว

      Huh? Chair? Don't see it! I see a strap, a shadow of a tree. I think he would be more slumped over if he was sitting. The part of his pants that we can see, would beless visible if he was sitting. I might agree that he could be leaning against the tree, but that makes it even more weird... I have tried playing a guitar while standing leaning my back to the wall - it's so awkward.
      It seems to me this picture happende like this:
      Photographer: "Tony, stand i front of the tree - I'll take a picture for the cover of you new album"
      Tony: "Ok"
      Photographer: "Good! Now, hold up the guitar in front of you"
      Tony: "What? Like I'm playing it?"
      Photographer (getting annoyed because this is the picture number 30 of the day): "Just hold it up, will ya'!"
      Tony: -holds up guitar-
      SNAP!
      Photographer: "Good, see you in a week with the prints - bye"!
      Or maybe it's a photo taken by his girlfirend at the time. I know that the covershot of 1984's "Cold on the Shoulder" album was taken by his girlfriend at the time.
      Anyway, my point is, I'm overthinking this :-D #Gear Nerd is right! It's just the guitar that WANTS to be near him! :-D

    • @sargewhitson4264
      @sargewhitson4264 7 ปีที่แล้ว +3

      You are right. But he can hold it anyway he wants. Tony is the shit

    • @joelbeaupre1724
      @joelbeaupre1724 7 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      I might be completely off base, but I think the photographer was looking at the shape of the tree behind him. The strap at that angle looks like the trunk of the tree to the right. The rest of the tree radiates from his head!

    • @johnhudson9167
      @johnhudson9167 3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Some men prefer it without a strap on.
