    Nice video thanks for sharing.
    I have a separate garage workshop with a vehicle lift installed. I use the lift for repairing cars and riding lawnmowers. I also use it for storage of my 2 riding lawnmowers. I elevate the lift platform with the 2 riding mowers loaded and I stow my Hobie Pro Angler 14 underneath which works well for my situation.

      Nice. Before I moved out to the west coast I had a similar setup with a lift, I really miss that for doing car work, hard to get used to using jackstands and being on my back again!

      @@NorthWestKayakFishing I feel your pain. When I built my shop which has 10 foot high ceilings. I decided to add a lift. I think????? I paid around $3500.00 for it. The nice thing about it is that it came with a set of 4 swiveling casters that allows you to move the lift around if necessary. The casters just raise it off the ground about 1 inch. My only regret is that when I built the shop I should have made it about 15 foot tall. I found out quickly that I couldn't raise automobiles to the full height with only 10 foot ceilings. It works fine for riding lawn mower repair as I have cut out wooden inserts that allow me to drive the mowers up onto the ramps of the lift and still have access to the undercarriage of the lawnmower. I have a large concrete pad outside of the garage doors and can easily move the lift with casters installed outside if I have a vehicle repair that requires full lift extension.
      Thanks again for sharing your knowledge, Enjoyed looking at your videos.

      @@helicopterjohns When I had my 26x26 garage/workshop built I knew I was going to put a lift in there so I had it made using 10' studs with trusses put on top of that so the peak of the ceiling was about 18' high. I had a loft built over one half of it and left the other open so I could get the lift in there and raise the cars all the way up. I was really missing that today, was changing a wheel hub/bearing on a Mini Cooper and it was way harder than it had to be as I didn't have enough room to leverage the breaker bar easily to torque them down! Finally got it done after messing with it for a couple hours, would have been a couple minutes on the lift. Have a happy new year!

    How did you mount the hoist to the wall? I see there is access to the holes on one side, but the motor covers the other half of the bracket and you'd somehow need to reattach the motor is it's removed to mount the bracket.

      It's been a while but I think I just used the bolts that came with it that are used to attach the brackets to hold it on a pipe like you can see in the picture on the harbor freight website (www.harborfreight.com/440-lb-electric-hoist-with-remote-control-60346.html) and used a forstner bit to counter sink them into the board. I mounted the hoist to the board and then attached the board to the wall.

      @@NorthWestKayakFishing Ahh that makes sense. Thank you so much for the help. How is the hoist holding up?

    • @NorthWestKayakFishing
      @NorthWestKayakFishing  5 หลายเดือนก่อน

      @@CodyPexton1 It's still going strong. If I were to do it again I'd make the winch line up with the middle rather than off to the side as the cable tends to bunch up on the one side which sometimes causes the winch to auto stop.

    What fasteners did you use to attach the hoist to the wood backing?

    • @NorthWestKayakFishing
      @NorthWestKayakFishing  7 หลายเดือนก่อน

      I used lag bolts.

      Lag bolt for the hoist itself because I thought they were threaded. And thanks.

      @@davidroy6469 Actually I can't remember for sure but I'm 99% sure I used lags. I don't remember those holes being threaded but if they were then I used a lag that would just fit through.

    What’s the dimensions of your plywood platform?

    • @NorthWestKayakFishing
      @NorthWestKayakFishing  8 หลายเดือนก่อน

      46" wide and 55" long. I just built it with what I had laying around, anything close to that size would work.
