Im a huge Slayer fan for sure, I mean I have their logo tattooed on my right arm. This song is definitely one of their best, no matter what anyone says about it. To me its classic FUCKING SLAYER!!!!!
My husband and I named our daughter Araya after Tom bc we got together bc Slayer... He didn't believe I listened to Slayer and I proved him wrong and he must have fell in love... idk... ahaha!
Slayer isn’t for everyone. But I follow you to get your authentic reaction to songs that I like, so kudos for keeping it real instead of pretending to like it.
During the 1st gulf War in Iraq, almost every pilot had Slayer's South of Heaven playing as they carpet bombed the shit out of Bahgdad and other parts of Iraq. It was the soundtrack for the soldiers of that war.
Keep in mind Slayer has been around since the 80s. So I invite you listen to "Reign in Blood" which is one of my favorite albums. As for what kept me focused in battle. Honestly there are too many to count. But Metal was definitely on the top of the list. Bands like Slayer, Megadeth, Misfits , Metallica, Anthrax, Helloween, King Diamond the list goes on . Enjoy the music there is so much out there and you can't ease everyone but thanks for taking the time to listen . That's how we come together as a whole keep up the good work
Danny Trejo is the greatest! He's been in so much ish he can't even remember everything he's done. Truly the GOAT! Imagine the lead singer being your grandpa, he is a grandpa 😆 🤣
While there are several celebs like Sean Whalen (1st prison guard), Derek Mears (tall bald prisoner - 1 of a few who played Jason in the Friday the 13th series), Danny Trejo & a few others, the majority of extras were in fact real prisoners.
Don’t forget Tyler mane (the other tall bald prisoner) who played Michael Myers in rob zombies movie , sabretooth from X-men, and Ajax the great in Troy
Divine Intervention is my favorite Slayer album. I was like 12 when it came out. I remember listening to part of it on one of those kiosks at Camelot in the mall back around '94-95 that had to download it via some ISDN line slightly faster than dialup. I like a handful of songs from their other albums but that and Seasons in the Abyss are the only full albums I can get into for some reason
Me and 6 other friends got our parents to call in sick for us to school our senior year the day when the album got released. We spent the day in your buddies basement smoking an ounce of weed...drinking a handle of Jack.. Playing pool and listened to it on repeat for 9 hours straight.....hands down one of the best days of my life.....besides having my son born.......
This is a video telling the story of which there are 2 other videos, and this isnt the 1st video in the trilogy so it's not just a video about prison, it's about a white supremacist who loves a black girl and his crew swoop her up, you just gotta watch all 3 of them.
Life longer here too...and yes Lombardo is a million times better. I had hoped they could squash their beef and have him on their final tour. To not do so is wrong on so many levels. Bostaph is meh....at best. I think the only clean track from Paul was on "When the Stillness Comes".....but could imagine what Dave coulda done with that song?....Man retired Slayer is so depressing....Cheers bro.
@@camlloyd3321 Hell awaits was my first album, but yeah, a couple years later and the immortal Reign in Blood was released. Remember back then, the cover art was SO OFFENSIVE that they were dropped over it. Now we can censor presidents. 🤦♂️
Fun little fact, the prisoner walking out, adjusting his shirt,…..that’s Derek Mears who was most known for playing Jason Vorhees in the Friday the 13th remake.
I appreciate the honesty , I always hate when some reactors say they love songs that I can clearly see that they can not stand. I am a huge metal fan and do not enjoy listening to 95 percent of Slayers music they are a fringe band that are very extreme.
Man , after your ad for the Esker I don’t know if I want to buy it or marry it. lol You make it sound sooo sweet! Great job bro. Love your reactions! HOG4Life 🇺🇸❤️🇺🇸❤️

Try "south of heaven" by them...slayer takes some getting used to if you come out from nowhere trying to listen to them. It's an acquired taste. I wouldn't steer you wrong. Trust me and listen to it. Guarantee you'll like it
Man, I've been trying to put my finger on Araya's vocal style for years. You nailed it. He's sorta thrash metal rapping. I'll never look at it the same again.
I had a request for some reactions, I tried looking through your Playlist and didn't see anything from Disturbed. Would love to see reactions to Down with a sickness, The Sound of silence, Hold on to Memories and Reason to fight, thank you loving your reactions!!
They really are... Slayer fans get offended when someone doesn't like them, but I get they aren't for everyone. Idk what I would have done without Slayer though... ahaha
@@TrumpTrain86 I seem to like the stuff that isn't as popular or the songs that sound the best. I'm more of a fan of Christ Illusion as I feel it just sounds better... But I do overall like all their songs, I just have my favorite ones that I would rather listen to and they aren't the ones people want reactors to react to.
LOL I get a kick out people hearing Slayer and original Trash metal for the first time and with all due respect for the Rap community that I love, but these old metal heads have been doing bars since day one. Want to hear some real awesome bars go check out the metal band Body Count with Ice-T and Ernie C. They are fucking great. And as for Metallica's St. Anger your correct. It was real prisoners in San Quentin State Prison
For similar music, but more metal-like vocals, try out the band Suicidal Angels from Greece. And their song "Beggars of Scorn." It's a bit slower paced song with a groovier hook. You might like that one better.
. LOL about the hug, that cracked me up. I've been to at least a hundred concerts, no exaggeration. My favorite one? I think it was a 1998. . It was Alice in Chains, Megadeth, anthrax, and Slayer. It was called The Clash of the Titans. What a good freaking show. The song is definitely a shout-out tub disgusting the prison system is. Especially since it was privatized, which means it has to be filled to make money. They create animals
I like the rap comparison because I love hip hop so much and also love metal the same way and blues and rock ect but I to notice so many similar things with flows cause in rap you adapt to the beat for your flow which isn't always easy and the same with metal and especially thrash metal like this it's the same with having to find the flow
Please do more Slayer! I highly recommend Darkness Of Christ/Disciple It's more or less the title track from their album God Hates Us All. Released on September 11th 2001 of all days
I'll also recommend their song "Jihad" One of their most unique sounding songs musically, lyrically it's about the imagined view point of one of the hijackers and contains things the actual hijackers had in journals.
Lol I love Slayer but this is far from one of their best. Plus saying it’s like St. Anger kinda set you up for a let down. Johnny Cash live from Folsom Prison is closer to St. Anger because he actually went and played a concert for the prisoners.
What you should do is listen to the whole slayer Killology which includes You Against You, Repentless and Pride in Prejudice they are three music videos that go together as a story
Slayer has always been closer to punk than metal. Proud to say I saw them live twice even though I was pretty late to the game. I saw them in 2017 and 2019 (MSG three days before their final show ever).
you need to check out Slayer - The eyes of the insane. you love the troops and what they do. Has to do with people who fight in wars, and dont come back the same. Your literally get to see it through the eye of a soilder. the video is super awsome and super weird and creepy.
This song is in memory of their guitarist Jeff Hanneman, its their way of telling people what type of man he was.
\m/ RIP
Jeff Hanneman is a part of the holy Trinity of Metal Riffing... I'll adore his play 4ever

Slayer for mayor! Keep it real and vote for the goat! The sickest pits I've ever seen in my life were at slayer shows...
As a Slayer fan who literally grew up on them... I didn't care for it either. Hard to beat the old albums.
