A nice informative tour of this 70FT Aqualine Canterbury wide beam, which has probably got the most storage I've seen on any wide beam boat ever, I also noticed "Twiglet" testing out both the sofabed and the king sized super bed which she gave full marks for as she didn't want to get off!
Bit late to the party but, since no one seems to have answered.....That's not a dogbox as I know it. It's a butterfly hatch , so-called because the panes lift out to the side like wings or vertically on screws. A dogbox is usually on the foredeck of a traditional sailing boat. They are hatches built like a little doghouse above, not flush with, the deck with a flat"roof" that slides open. Usually to a bosun's locker for lines & whatnot or a ladder down to a crew cabin. Fun vid & lovely boat. You're like the NautiStyles of canal boating. Twiglet is quite right to object to the telly lift. Guarantee that will get stuck halfway soon enough. Projector & roll up screen is the way to go, imo.
Hello 👋🏻 ah thank you for this, they seem to be called so many things, pigeon box is another one too! Perhaps we should just call them roof windows lol 😂 That’s a great compliment thank you and thank you for watching 😁
@@WidebeamandWellingtons Pigeon box sounds beautifully Northern to me; "Ah've burned the sausages ! Open pigeon box n' let smoke out, luv..." These.. um...."skylights" (lol) often have a dual purpose as they are commonly found above engine/motor compartments with internal access. Used to lift machinery in/out without cutting holes in the cabin "roof" or the hull. What's your feeling on gas appliances & wood/coal burning stoves on a canal boat ? Not a fan on sea-going vessels myself. Easier to ventilate a canal boat & less dire fire risk, I'd imagine, but....
The wide boats are areal treasure but really restrictive in movement if I could snap my figures I would make every one happy and widen all canals . Thanks for the tour the wife loves those wide boats. Happy trails
What a beautiful boat. Lucky you for getting a nosey around. Sorry, I know Nuzzing (as the German guard in Stalag 19 was fond of saying) about Gertie. See you next time 👋👋
I originally ordered an aqualine, but at 62ft (VAT less) wouldn't fit on Leeds and Liverpool canal. So I bought from the same builder as you, to avoid VAT Wish I could have afforded the VAT for the Aqualine 😊
Great walked around a lovely boat but called me old fashioned, but should NOT let your dog jump on the settee and then the bed,not respectful,I didn't even hear you say, off !!
She’s a stunning boat, who belongs to friends of ours, who were there and asked us to bring our dog too, we would never normally bring Twiglet to film a boat tour and certainly wouldn’t let her on the furniture but this was an exception and different circumstances 😊
I am sure we can get long without many things on a boat except the engine and how ease the access is to it . Specially for some older people that may want to by a narrow boat and needs to consider the accessibility to the engine compartment for maintenance !! But I guess you have a private mechanic that checks you engine compartment on a daily basis ??!! Please get off you high horse lady and show the damn engine compartment !! My wife doesn't have a hen pecked husband that just stays quiet while she runs rough shot over him !!
Nearly every canal boat has access via a hatch in the stern floor which is not the easiest to access. We are lucky enough to be invited to film owners boats, however would not unscrew tables from the stern to access the engine to film, which was the case here. My ‘private mechanic’ is my partner who is filming the video and yes he is very experienced and also didn’t want to dismantle the stern table to film the engine! We always take comments on board but don’t understand why you feel the need to be so rude when you don’t even know us. We work as a team and always have and we are both happy with how both our TH-cam and personal life is. We feel that you really need to think before posting such unpleasant comments to someone you know nothing about. If you would like to see accessibility on a canal boat, we have lots of videos on our own engine here is an example: How to SERVICE Your Wide Beam Boat, Tips and Tricks | 145 th-cam.com/video/OHGge3iotFE/w-d-xo.html Have a nice day 😁
@@WidebeamandWellingtons I am sorry about my comment . I was upset because I saw about 5 of your videos and none of them show the engine compartment I am old and just want a narrow boat I can access with my disabilities . Also I have seen that other wide narrow boats that have great access for some one like me to the engine compartment. So what you are saying is not true ! I guess you only like to show fancy boats ! In fact I have seen two boats that have full engine rooms and I am thinking of buying one of them . Also I hope I never meet you lady ! Your husband I would say hello to but not you !
The owners are friends and were on board when we were filming, they welcomed our puppy onboard and were happy to have her. If you watch our other tours you will see that she’s not there! Quite a judgemental comment we feel without knowing facts 😢
Do like the widebeams
They are lovely 😊

@@WidebeamandWellingtons she most certainly did!👏👏🤣🤣
What an exceptional boat, beautiful layout, amenities, interior and exterior. Thanks for sharing & showing us this beauty.

Great tour lovely boat but we maybe biased ! 😊 lovely afternoon had when you came over.
Hehe 😂 Gertie is so beautiful 🤩 We had such a lovely time, thank you ☺️
Just have to say what a beautiful boat! I would absolutely love to own one! Twiggy has defo found her voice, so cute !!! Thanks for sharing ❤🙏.
She’s a beauty and immaculately kept, Twiggy definitely has she’s a little pickle lol 😂 🐾🐾🥰
Wooooooooow! I have claustrophobia and could live on this. The most beautiful boat I’ve ever seen! Wow!!!.
She’s stunning isn’t she 😁

Wouldn’t that be fabulous 😁
Gorgeous boat! So big! On that note, as a West Country girl I’d say Gertie is a variation on ‘gert’ as in large! But that my guess at it! X
Gertie is a beautiful girl 😁 oh that could be a good shout 👍🏻

Beautiful boat

Great walk through as usual - thanks guys - has given us some ideas.
Aww you’re welcome ☺️

Oh what a shame! The Aqualine’s are beautiful boats but as you say the price does reflect this quite rightly I guess! 😁
Fancy teasing us with a beautiful boat and then say it's not for sale.
Haha 😂 oops sorry! She’s lovely isn’t she 😁

AND LIKE ALWAYS YOU DON'T SHOW THE ENGINE COMPARTMENT !
Already addressed this please don’t shout at us!
@@WidebeamandWellingtons I AM NOT SHOUTING I AM JUST OLD AND A MEMBER OF THE CAPTION KEY CLUB . GOOD DAY SIR AND LADY .
The owners keep it immaculate, yet you let you dog all over their furniture 😢. Sorry that’s just really disrespectful.
The owners are friends and were there, they invited our puppy too, they were happy to have her, if not we would have left her at home 🐾🐾
Bit pointless having two toilets but only one bedroom.
Think they find it handy as one is a cassette one a pump out so helps with when they can’t move to the pump out 😊
@@WidebeamandWellingtons I still find having the extra bedroom a better option. But to each their own.
