I LOVE that you mentioned being kicked off of merit's PR and i think it's important. If a brand chooses to use influencer marketing, that's great, but if they are manipulating the general influencer consensus by cutting people who don't rave about their products out.....I WANT TO KNOW.
And not every brand is for everyone--but I bet if they'd sent an email and said something like, "were sorry you haven't loved our products, and we think maybe our brand's aesthetic doesn't match well with your preferences, so we won't burden you with more product. Reach out if a release interests you in the future!" You wouldn't have referred to it as being kicked off and it wouldn't seem like they were deceptively spinning the quality by cherry picking influencers.
I always admire brands more if at times, you have to give a review whereby it didn't work for you but they still send you new launches. That brand then, has my respect 👍
The only videos that I only been watching lately are yours because of your honesty. You don’t care weather you get PR or not. I’ve seen some popular beauty influencers that everything that they tried is wonderful even if is just crap because they are afraid to be taking off the PR list. Some of them just want the free stuff at expense of the viewer. I come to the point that I don’t watch them anymore. Your honesty is refreshing and very much appreciate it. I have to say that girl I watch a lot of your videos and this is the first time I'm like damn this look; the makeup colors and tones and just everything you're wearing is like THE best makeup look I've ever seen you wear. You look like an airbrushed moving piece of makeup perfection and while it isn't anything popping out boldly like a smokey eye or a big wing, etc it just looks absolutely amazing like filtered, airbrushed, perfection that is like... you look like your skin is the best it's ever looked and like it's so almost perfectly Natural even though I know you're wearing makeup it's just the finish and everything girl imma need you to list everything on your face right now because whatever that combination is it looks fantastic I mean you always look pretty but whatever combination you got on your skin and the bronzer and the blush the everything from the concealer and foundation to the tones are just literally the best that I've ever seen you it's all so perfectly balanced -- it's like what I'd imagine a collaboration of these makeup artists would look like: Charlotte Tilbury, Mario and Patrick Ta. 🤩😃💜 you gotta list every single thing on your face!!!!!! 😍😁

I hear you though this is your experience with these products and that’s ok - I feel the same about the raw morris invisible mattifier powder - that to me is just the worst and stuffed my make up every time no matter how I applied it to the point I just threw it out and that hurt as it’s expensive!!!

Hi Tara! I love the Surratt blushes and it's one of my favorite blush formulas ever! One thing you could try if you haven't already is using an airy and less dense brush like the Sonia G soft cheek or try using a squirrel bristle brush. Just wanted to share something that may help make the blush usable ❤️
You are so funny! But seriously, you flagged products I didn't like either or had doubts about. In fact I sent that Chanel blush back. It was a pain to work with and faded to nothing. And I'm Fair/Light! If you couldn't see it on me you couldn't on anyone. As far as Chantecaille, I suspected that both of those products would be fails. Thumbs up to their Rose Tint though, for blurring on no makeup days. But it will turn any liquid or gel foundation into a lake of grease if you try to use it as a moisturizer. Ok, so even after watching your review I bought the Jones Road WTF…and I really like it! I don’t have dry skin, but it works on me. It kind of soaks in, but I still keep the light coverage. Almost no one I watch has had good luck with it, don’t know what’s going on with my skin to work with it but I’ll take it! 😂 Have you tried the Merit lip slick oil? I really enjoy them, they live a stain for me.

I did buy the Westman Atelier nude lip compact and I agree that it is basically a super expensive tinted lip balm - and I do use that way because it is an effective lip moisturizer. My second “lemonade from a lemon” is the oily Saie concealer - last night, I decided to try to use it as an overnight eye cream and this morning, the skin under my eyes is nice and moist (yet my eyes are not irritated). So at least I am getting good if not intended use from these two lemon products. Fortunately for me, I watched your reviews just in time, and stayed away from the other products you mentioned. Thank you for having such integrity that you are willing to turn your back on PR - it’s the reason I keep watching you.

Thanks Tara for honest opinion! For me this year the biggest frustration is the Haus labs foundation and Milk concealer. I was trying to make it work but I had no success. Still blaming myself for not having enough experience in makeup application.🤷♀️🥺

I got the Merit stick foundation to wear on a no make up , make up day. It living you to that. Total waste, does nothing and it gross in texture. Thx for the great video!
I'm loving the 15 Days of Beauty Tara! It is so refreshing to watch your honest reviews and personable videos. The worst product I purchased in 2022 was Laura Mercier's Tinted Moisturizer Natural Skin Perfector. It was difficult to apply, pilled on my skin, and looked orange. I enjoy Laura Mercier loose setting powder, the caviar eye sticks, and blushes, but the Skin Perfector was a fail. The Hourglass Vanish Airbrush Concealer didn't work for me either.
I have the Chanel Deep Apricot and Deep Bronze (two darkest shades). I put one squirt on the back of my hand. I blend it, then transfer to my face. They last on me, but I only use it during the summer months since it has a dewy finish for my face.
Now that I watch reviews before purchasing, for the most part, I rarely have regrets anymore. Thanks to you YTers like you, I know what I’m getting when I get it. My 1 regret, that I kick myself for buying the VB reflect highlighter stick. I bought it without waiting for reviews, and it is a mica mess. It’s full glittery vampire in the sunlight. It’s extra a lying that the marketing and tag line were like glitter free! Well I guess technically it doesn’t have glitter but synthetic fluorphlogopite is the first ingredient, and it’s synthetic mica. Which I think behaves like glitter. I thought it looked so nice indoors and then I took my kids to the park and saw my face in a windows and holy SHMOKES it was glittery everywhere.
Arghhhhhh, Arlo (???? help 😅😅) is sooooooooooo cuddly and 😍. Awwww, when his little feet were "walking in the air", like doggy padding, it had me laughing 🤣🤣. Of course I played it three times 😉 The TF Khaki palette was/is too dark (for me personally) and I was unable to return it - it's in pristine condition, totally untouched, but I wasn't allowed to return it 😡 Th Chanel concealer! A gloomy pot of product is NOT a luxurious experience. Thankfully, because this was sealed in cellophane, I was able to return it (I think anyway, haven't checked). Such a shame, apparently it's an excellent formula 🥴 Love yooooooooooo 🎄💛🎄💛🎄💛🎄

Products I hated in 2022: Gucci blush, Hourglass Butterfly palette (hated that the blushes were almost the exact same shade), Tom Ford foundation stick, Westman Atelier Foundation stick and Blush stick, Charlotte Tilbury blush and Nars Light Reflecting Foundation...
I have to stick up for the Chanel Les Beiges Water Fresh Blush.☺ I have the shade "Intense Coral" and I love it. I put it on the back of my hand then pat it on my cheeks with my fingers. I let it sit for a few seconds, before I blend it in. It gives me a nice flush of color and lasts all day. I hated the Hourglass Ambient Face Palette. I just could not make it work or justify the cost, so I returned it to Sephora.
Great video! Thanks for your honesty as always. You help us make good decisions while entertaining us at the same time :) The only one I’ve tried and actually really like is the chantecaille anti-aging face tint bronze. I like it as an all over face tint, or on a “no makeup” day as a subtle bronzer (kinda the same reason people use the makeup by Mario skin enhancing balm). The key for me is using very little product
This was certainly an interesting list indeed. I've heard about and experienced many products mentioned here that I've never had an issue with or anyone else either, yet there's always a first. For example, I own the Burberry Iconic Face and Eye Palette and knew that the blush would suit my light skin-tone and never had issues with highlighter. I was concerned about the eye-shadows after watching a video of the barely there Tom Ford Face Palette, so looked at several videos for reference. All of the videos I viewed, including Tara's, had no issue with the eye-shadows and only Tara had an issue with the blush which at first glance looked too pale for her but did apply nicely to the face when builded, as did the highlighter. It was only afterwards when Tara was swatching the highlighter that she was concerned with how the pan appeared, yet swatching with bare fingers that would contain oil that can affect the product. This didn't affect the highlighter on her face though. I'm quite confused as to why it is being demonized now after re-watching this review again. I have no problem if someone finds fault with a product, but to do a fairly positive review and then recant, is hardly fair. What concerns me is whether these products reviewed are ever tested first before spending so much money on them. If they are so bad, why haven't they been returned, especially the ones that have issues with smell, consistency or the product doesn't come out of? When spending so much on high-end luxury products, you really want to make sure that they are going to suit your complexion. Many of these products failed due to the wrong shades chosen, (e.g. Chanel peach Quad), not necessarily the product itself. By all means report bad products that do not perform as stated, but don't blame the brand for the poor choices made upon purchasing. I'm all for calling out terrible items and would encourage everyone to return these but the best advice is to test the product first to avoid such disasters. I have to admit that I have never experienced any such "bad" products and I'm slightly more advanced in years than Tara. Buyer Beware!💖
It kills me that the Merit blush doesn’t last because upon initial application cheeky is a fav! I do like the merit stick highlight in Cava. For me the PT blush palette was the biggest fail. I think I was just so upset that it had all the potential to be my perfect blush palette and it fell short on so many levels. Sigh

Thanks Tara for honest opinion! For me this year the biggest frustration is the Haus labs foundation and Milk concealer. I was trying to make it work but I had no success. Still blaming myself for not having enough experience in makeup application.🤷♀️🥺

Thanks Tara! Great video, the Chantecaille Anti aging skin tint wasn't a fav at 1st, now I use it every day one of 2 ways.
1.All over under foundation (like a primer)
2. Mixed with a foundation that is too cool.

I got the Merit stick foundation to wear on a no make up , make up day. It living you to that. Total waste, does nothing and it gross in texture. Thx for the great video!
I'm loving the 15 Days of Beauty Tara! It is so refreshing to watch your honest reviews and personable videos. The worst product I purchased in 2022 was Laura Mercier's Tinted Moisturizer Natural Skin Perfector. It was difficult to apply, pilled on my skin, and looked orange. I enjoy Laura Mercier loose setting powder, the caviar eye sticks, and blushes, but the Skin Perfector was a fail. The Hourglass Vanish Airbrush Concealer didn't work for me either.
The Victoria Beckham signature eyeshadow brick. I have a fair skin tone & can’t see the lightest 2 shades on my skin.

I have the Chanel Deep Apricot and Deep Bronze (two darkest shades). I put one squirt on the back of my hand. I blend it, then transfer to my face. They last on me, but I only use it during the summer months since it has a dewy finish for my face.

My 1 regret, that I kick myself for buying the VB reflect highlighter stick. I bought it without waiting for reviews, and it is a mica mess. It’s full glittery vampire in the sunlight. It’s extra a lying that the marketing and tag line were like glitter free! Well I guess technically it doesn’t have glitter but synthetic fluorphlogopite is the first ingredient, and it’s synthetic mica. Which I think behaves like glitter.
I thought it looked so nice indoors and then I took my kids to the park and saw my face in a windows and holy SHMOKES it was glittery everywhere.
That puppy is so adorable, I do miss a wild puppy around they are so fun

The TF Khaki palette was/is too dark (for me personally) and I was unable to return it - it's in pristine condition, totally untouched, but I wasn't allowed to return it 😡
Th Chanel concealer! A gloomy pot of product is NOT a luxurious experience. Thankfully, because this was sealed in cellophane, I was able to return it (I think anyway, haven't checked). Such a shame, apparently it's an excellent formula 🥴

Products I hated in 2022: Gucci blush, Hourglass Butterfly palette (hated that the blushes were almost the exact same shade), Tom Ford foundation stick, Westman Atelier Foundation stick and Blush stick, Charlotte Tilbury blush and Nars Light Reflecting Foundation...
I have to stick up for the Chanel Les Beiges Water Fresh Blush.☺ I have the shade "Intense Coral" and I love it. I put it on the back of my hand then pat it on my cheeks with my fingers. I let it sit for a few seconds, before I blend it in. It gives me a nice flush of color and lasts all day. I hated the Hourglass Ambient Face Palette. I just could not make it work or justify the cost, so I returned it to Sephora.

You help us make good decisions while entertaining us at the same time :) The only one I’ve tried and actually really like is the chantecaille anti-aging face tint bronze. I like it as an all over face tint, or on a “no makeup” day as a subtle bronzer (kinda the same reason people use the makeup by Mario skin enhancing balm). The key for me is using very little product

This was certainly an interesting list indeed. I've heard about and experienced many products mentioned here that I've never had an issue with or anyone else either, yet there's always a first. For example, I own the Burberry Iconic Face and Eye Palette and knew that the blush would suit my light skin-tone and never had issues with highlighter. I was concerned about the eye-shadows after watching a video of the barely there Tom Ford Face Palette, so looked at several videos for reference. All of the videos I viewed, including Tara's, had no issue with the eye-shadows and only Tara had an issue with the blush which at first glance looked too pale for her but did apply nicely to the face when builded, as did the highlighter. It was only afterwards when Tara was swatching the highlighter that she was concerned with how the pan appeared, yet swatching with bare fingers that would contain oil that can affect the product. This didn't affect the highlighter on her face though. I'm quite confused as to why it is being demonized now after re-watching this review again. I have no problem if someone finds fault with a product, but to do a fairly positive review and then recant, is hardly fair. What concerns me is whether these products reviewed are ever tested first before spending so much money on them. If they are so bad, why haven't they been returned, especially the ones that have issues with smell, consistency or the product doesn't come out of? When spending so much on high-end luxury products, you really want to make sure that they are going to suit your complexion. Many of these products failed due to the wrong shades chosen, (e.g. Chanel peach Quad), not necessarily the product itself. By all means report bad products that do not perform as stated, but don't blame the brand for the poor choices made upon purchasing. I'm all for calling out terrible items and would encourage everyone to return these but the best advice is to test the product first to avoid such disasters. I have to admit that I have never experienced any such "bad" products and I'm slightly more advanced in years than Tara. Buyer Beware!💖

It kills me that the Merit blush doesn’t last because upon initial application cheeky is a fav! I do like the merit stick highlight in Cava. For me the PT blush palette was the biggest fail. I think I was just so upset that it had all the potential to be my perfect blush palette and it fell short on so many levels. Sigh
