It’s a brief thing, but the “monsters” in that prison cell block were actually prisoners probably begging for help. She was just so high she didn’t realize it. But you see it as Mizu is leaving the room. That hits hard.
Just so you know, TH-cam released a special edition of this episode that's in black and white except for very specific bits of color. It's cool as hell.
This is Mizus John Wick episode 😭🙌 the way she just EATS injuries and keeps going legit made me think of those movies this entire episode haha. She’s a BEAST. And the music SLAPPED extra hard during multiple sequences this episode haha 👏
Honestly it’s the only thing I don’t like about action in animation. They all do this: The hero eating critical injuries only to be in fighting shape the next episode pulls me out of the show. Honestly I rather her just be skilled enough to not get hurt at all instead a death defying leap after a spike goes through her achilles tendon. Had mine rupture it doesn’t work that way lol. Still an amazing show, way too much fun.
@@Epok17 totally get what ur saying dude but I honestly think the action works BETTER when it’s over the top like that. She sliced through a tree earlier in the season haha, I’m cool with the unrealistic stuff as long as it’s EPIC and makes me HYPE😭🙌
@@AustinSamson1999 I think feats of skill are easier to buy into because you can justify that with training. But it’s harder to suspend disbelief of human durability, especially when you’re dealing with broken bones and sliced ligaments.
I think that whole not drinking milk thing is a Buddhist thing which is why those Shogans turned their noses. In fact their primary source of protein was fish as a result. The creators’ attention to detail is sick!!
Also! The Japanese historically have a very high rate of lactose intolerance, as do a lot of other ethnicities. I'm pretty sure this is because many of these places were not ideal for raising cattle.
Thank you for pointing out the religious aspect. I was just astounded by the pure evil of serving one's perceived allies food they most likely cannot digest, that makes it even worse.
That club is called a Kanabo or two handed spiked war club. Surprisingly it's considered one of the most dangerous weapons in the awesome Japanese armory to fight as it's both a mixture of hardwood and steel spikes and carries enormous mass so it just smashes straight through almost all defensive forms. Mizu's weapon is a hybrid Naginata and is considered a polearm in that form. As her ex-husband lol told her, it's a great weapon fopr when you are out numbered as she's shown repeatedly.
Lactose Intolerance is the default for most mammals after infancy. Some humans have a mutation that allows them to consume milk. Most white people have this mutation because being able to eat cheese can help you survive long cold winters with no crops. So people who lived in northern countries evolved to handle dairy. People living in more mild climates with rice to get through winters did not need a mutation to allow them to eat milk products in order to survive. Lactose intolerance is most common in people of East Asian descent, with 70 to 100 percent of people affected in these communities. Lactose intolerance is also more common in people of West African, Arab, and Jewish descent, while only about 5 percent of people of northern European descent are lactose intolerant. What he’s serving them may be cheese curds or curds and weigh. It may also be something called Clabber which is a form of thick soured milk that tasted like butter milk.
Syntell please watch the final 2 episodes now!!!! I can’t wait you guys to watch e give your thoughts 🥰😝🥰😝 Best animated series since Arcane!!! But yeah that scene climbing the walls carrying Taigen was a little bit too much 🤣🤣🤣🤣 But she is badass so 😝

Africa did not have gunpowder before Europe. Europeans learned of the invention of gunpowder from China. Also, yeh it turns out Japan didn't consume cheese and stuff like that, probably for cultural and religious reasons. That thing they are eating is cheese... it's not disgusting at all.
Oh, it's gross! Cheese is fermented milk. When milk first turns, it can make you sick or kill you. Cheese just smells off. So if you aren't used to cheese, you will think you're forced to eat something yuck.
They’re not creatures, magic doesn’t exist in this shows world. They were prisoners. Some of which appeared as background characters in earlier episodes. The thing is in that scene Mizu is still high as a kite on a fear inducing hallucinogenic. Or as they call it “ the flower”. They were probably begging for help or maybe just confused and scared. Mizu was injured, drugged, and seeing red. So she saw them as hostile monsters, and killed them without a second thought. Two more clues that make this clear to me is that Teijin’s cell was no different from the one that the “monsters” were held in; and as a devout Shinto-Buddhist mizu had no reason to doubt that literal monsters existed. The same way that many Christians in history with mental disorders had no reason to doubt that demons were real, and were quite likely to interpret unpleasant hallucinations as “Of Satan”. once the drug wore off The audience was able to see the very normal, looking corpses in the hallway for a couple seconds, as she was walking to taijin.
I felt like there should have been more of a struggle for her to keep pace with all the physicality after all her injuries. She was injured SEVERELY in the last episode and it really didn’t show. That ankle injury should’ve hobbled her and being drugged should have had more of an effect. She shook all that off WAY too quickly to be able to carry an adult male up a stone wall with her sword in her mouth. That threw me off as the episode went on.
@@jaywhite1850 Have you never heard of the phrase 2nd and 3rd wind? An adrenaline rush can last as long as you can trick yourself into believing you're completely fine. However, once you stop the crash will be astronomically brutal.
Every now and then when it comes to a series like this live or animated, you have to suspend your disbelief. It's the whole John Wick effect. Wick gets hit by cars, stabbed with knives and survives shotgun blasts to the chest. We sort of shrug it off and keep it moving as an audience. Personally I just don't want the craziness to get to Fast and Furious levels of ridiculousness. But I feel your pain.
@@Syntell I think because the entire series has been so well written and damn near perfection, her carrying Taigen up the wall was the first time I had to just accept what she was capable of. That's a great point. For all we know those people cold have been inocent and Mizu was on a blind murder spree.
