This was a digital concert he performed called Dimash Digital Show on 16th January 2021. It broke all records on the Tixr platform for a foreign artist. Just before singing this song, Dimash was singing and dancing to his song, Give me your Love, hence the sweat on his forehead and eyes. It's on his channel with others, all with 2021 after the songs name. ❤ There are so many versions of him singing this song, hundreds probably.
2017 he was 22, 2021 he was 27. Now he is 29 and absolutely, stunningly gorgeous 😍 🥵🔥

    Dimash means 'God Given'.
Does that explain it for you.....DESTINY.
He fully cooperated with his destiny from birth...onstage at 2, learning piano and singing in an academy at 5 years old.
He is here to introduce you to the 5th Dimension that is shortly coming.

Dimash doesn’t allow you to just feel and hear his music, he requires you to participate in it. No choice about it - he takes command of the stage and the audience in the first second, and no matter what mood you were in before, by the end of the performance you are going to feel what Dimash wants you to feel whether you want to or not. Resistance is futile.

Yes, he gives very long concerts, and he performed this on video because he couldn't give live concerts during the worst of the pandemic. He makes several costume changes in each show, probably as much for his comfort and drying off as to offer variety.

You're always going to get people saying he doesn't perform live, of course there are certain performances that he can't perform live but those occasions are far fewer than people think and the Dears know which ones they are and don't generally recommend those performances.
Plus some people don't appear to know the difference between a live performance and one that was performed live but that's been edited in post production for a TV show.
Slavic Bazaar was live but heavily edited in post production. It's very rare that Dimash doesn't perform SOS absolutely live, the EMI GALA performance being one that wasn't because he had a stadium concert the next day so was on a vocal rest.

Thank you for a great explanation. I agree that a lots of people struggle to accept that one person can be that good, especially in an era of AI where you don't quite know what to believe.
However, I have been to Dimash concerts and can testify that he sounds exactly the same if not better, if that's even possible.

This is Dimash's production of a digital concert during lockdown, & yes, he'd been singing for awhile to be sweating.
The other SOS's were live too, but it was a Chinese competition in 2017, age 22.
2018 he was 23, & that was live on stage as well.
He is 26 here, now 29.
He was much sadder here remembering a good friend who was murdered.

Everybody has their favorite version of SOS. My favorite, and the first one I ever heard, was from The Singer when he was 22 years old. It was also live, they unlike the singing competitions in the United States, have a live band or live accompanists for the contestants depending on what they want or what is required for the piece they are performing. This Digital Concert impresses a lot of people because of the stunning effects that were used during the song, but as to the song itself Dimash "speak sings" a couple of lines in the song, and he doesn't cleanly and clearly sing the third high pitched note - you just get the end of the note, where in The Singer it's clearly sung as it is in the Slavic Bazaar version. But like I said, everyone has their favorite version for their own reasons. All of them are great, because Dimash is great. The best vocalist in the world.

This performance was from his live Digital Show that he did during the covid lockdown, so, yes, it was a whole concert to replace his concerts that had to be cancelled with the lockdowns.
I can assure you that the 2017 version was not pre-recorded as that show was a competition show, so nothing was lip synced on that show! Having seen him live in concerts, I can say that his live vocals are fantastic! He has even started to put little changes into songs because of the accusations of miming, when he isn't. As you yourself said, his voice & the notes he hits are very clean & spot on! He has the elusive perfect pitch & that was recognised when he was just a child. He does have natural talent, but he also never stops working on his voice to improve his techniques. It's that hard work that makes him such a phenomenal artist. He never takes his voice for granted & will still see his vocal coaches whenever he can. He is a once-in-a-lifetime artist, that's for sure.
Thank you for your great reaction. Have you ever reacted to his Kazakh folk songs? If not, then I would recommend them. They're amazing & Dimash puts so much passion into them as he is very proud of his heritage.
    Thank you, again 😊🙏💞

In 2017, he was 22. In 2021, he was 26. This coming May, he'll turn 30, and this past year has been his most prolific and variety filled yet, which is saying a lot for Dimash. He must not need much sleep. It's interesting you used the word "golden." He has a song titled "Golden," too. You can't lose with with "Stranger" or "Ave Maria." They are so unlike that you'll just sit with your jaw dropped and want to play the next one immediately. Both were performed at the same venue, in the same week, even if on different days, as I think happened.

With this song, you just wet your fingertips in the Ocean under the name Dimash ... React further to and millions of Dimash fans will simply blow up your channel with hundreds of thousands of views and subscriptions. Dimash sings from classical to rap, he is full of surprises, have a good swim in this vast Ocean of pleasures. Do you remember the Diva song from The Fifth Element, a movie with Bruce Willis? In this film, the song of the alien Diva was made half with the voice of an opera singer, and half synthesized on a computer to show an alien Voice so that human capabilities could not cover the range and jumps of this song, and so: Dimash sang it calmly, which proves that Dimash is an alien. When heard Dimash sing, I thought that he was not human. vWhen heard what he said in an interview, realized that Dimash is more of a human than all of Us.

This is my first favorite version of the song Sos sung divinely and perfectly live by Dimash..Dimash has more or less 70 different live versions of this song, there is at least a version for the taste of everyone, and for obvious right reasons only 4 versions are not sung live or are sung not totally live and not for the choice of Dimash because Dimash love sing live also totally acapella in every place and situation..For example the version of Slavic Bazaar 2018 that is not in my favorite versions is sung live but for the fault of who work in Slavic Bazaar there is too much work of post production that seems not live..One thing is clear and true, who add autotune and other things to the voice of Dimash does a disservice and does Dimash no favors because the divine and unique voice of Dimash doesn't require any technological help..The Boss King Angel Dimash Forever

Stranger from new wave 2021 where he premiered the song written especially for him by Igor Krutoy , who accompanies him on the piano. It is like a film score of Game of Thrones, very theatrical. But Igor also composed the new version of Ave Maria too.

Thank you for this reaction. I love this one as well. ❤ All of the Digital Show performances are works of art.
Many people think some of his other LIVE performances weren’t live.
It mostly happens because of tv post production cleaning up all breaths and dynamics in volume or noises from the crowd, and so on. (Sometimes even switching out the sound afterwards with the sound from a rehearsal) This is a shame, because you can’t improve his performances. Even the rare times he sang a flat note were special, because he managed to work around it. 😳
But thankfully there are many fancams where you can hear his real voice. ❤

This is my favorite version too. I love the emphasis on his lower register and the stronger rock vibe.
There is more sadness in this version due to his buddy's murder for lousy car parts but I think the heavier percussion helps to compensate.
I have watched this thousands of times and I still forget to breath most times.

This song is a pearl of the French songbook: It is a French-Canadian cyberpunk-rock opera called “Starmania”, written in 1976 by Michel Berger (France) and with lyrics by Luc Plamondon (Canada) and immortalized in the voices of Daniel Balavoine, Diane Dufresne and Gregory Lemarchal. The theme of the song is depression: In the 2021 version, Dimash faithfully and brilliantly presents a sentimental and melancholy interpretation! As the singing decisions follow the original structure of the song, which serves to show the psychological instability of the afflicted character: From the chest voice to the head voice and then to falsetto, the author sought to show a broad need to overcome a moment of despair and the pretense of accepting to reach a higher perspective! Dimash, currently at his concerts, dedicates this song to his friends and acquaintances who have departed this world!

🎼✅💖Another great reaction. Please note that replies to this comment provide important corrections to what I write below about the DD Olimpico vocals. That said, I still strongly recommend reacting to the 2019 Olimpico first.
You'll see him wearing the same outfit in an earlier session from the same day, sans sweat, when you react to the DD (Digital Dimash) performance of Olimpico.
On that topic (reacting to the DD Olimpico), for your own benefit, make sure to react to the video on Igor Krutoy's channel of his 2019 live concert performance of Olimpico BEFORE the DD one. (Also, unless you know Italian, try to remember to turn on autotranslate for the video in Igor's channel to get an approximation of the lyrics. Everything else about the video is incredible, and will impact you emotionally even if you don't know what the lyrics mean, but it's even better if you can read the lyrics too. Plus you'll then much better understand why he chose Olimpico as his opening song of his 2021 DD virtual concert.)
Why do I say react to the 2019 performance before the DD Olimpico? Too many reasons to list, but key ones are that the 2019 performance and its footage are the best available, and that the DD Olimpico is a lip sync of that 2019 one.
That said, the 2021 DD, the opening song of his DD virtual concert, is still a masterpiece. Remember, the DD virtual concert was his Covid lockdown era offering to existing Dears, intended for those who had already watched everything he'd done (including his Olimpicos) as they stayed in their houses. Dears desperately wanted to both help Dimash survive financially despite the cancellation of his world tour, and see something new from him. Opening with his lip sync'd Olimpico was a spectacular success due to its artistry, and a part of that was his deliberate decision to lip sync the 2019 performance, complete with references to that decision to lip sync (eg the footage on the TV at the start is from just before he sung Olimpico in 2019 and the half wink you'll see is about that and his microphone).

@ralphmellor1909 I’m fairly sure the DD version is not the same as the 2019 version. Because he sings the song similarly in every rendition, it’s hard to tell, but there are noticeable differences. Also, in the DD version, he is certainly singing at least parts of it live because when he moves his head away from the mic you can hear his voice get softer, then louder again when he returns to the mic.

Digital show Olimpico is only lip synced at the beginning up until he reaches the stage door. Probably because of the problems recording while he is moving through the building.
Kazan World Skills is the lip synced Olimpico where obviously they are not going to allow a true live performance because of the scale and importance of the production. It's the same reason why the half time performance at the Superbowl is always a lip synced performance regardless of who does it.

@@debbiemorgan859 🕊💖✅Feel free to skip reading the rest of this comment, but in short, thank you so much for you being the embodiment of everything I respect about Dimash (far beyond his artistic gifts to the world) and his implicit ideal of what Dears could be -- inspirationally kind.
What you say absolutely makes sense. I had simplified a bit in what I was writing because I was actually only somewhat confident about the starting section (indeed it totally makes sense it was until he went through the door) and was also confident the final phrase was somehow different (but reasoned it might have been a post-production tweak).
Perhaps more relevant is that over the last 2 years I've found you to be reliable in two key ways.
First is that I do not recall finding something you've written that's latter contradicted by anything I'm very confident about -- which isn't much -- let alone certain about (which is almost nothing -- I've never been to one of his concerts and don't read his social feeds, if he has any).
Second, and much more importantly, you are consistently kind, which is the behavior that deeply nurtures my mental health. I feel I have to take "risks" by simplifying, to try reduce my verbosity, hold on to sanity for both myself and anyone reading anything I write, and avoid the ultimate solution which is to remain silent.
As an autistic I know not engaging, staying in my silent world, which I generally prefer, is a step too far. But when I try to communicate I find my almost _pathological_ obsession with getting all details right is a deeply unhealthy tendency in the world of words about things one hasn't actually witnessed.
So I've learned to try to relax, to try to let go when I can reasonably hope that my inaccuracies won't do undue harm. That hope is a precious thing, and your way of being, your way of communicating, is a thing of beauty, one I'm confident Dimash is smiling about, and I know I appreciate.

@@ralphmellor1909 thank you for your very kind comment. I'm raising two autistic boys so I'm very aware of the importance of clear and honest communication.
I'm not one of those Dears who claims that Dimash never lip syncs. Unfortunately in this day and age sometimes it has to be done due to certain situations and recording capabilities. I do, however find it unfair to Dimash when certain people insist he is lip syncing when others who have watched fan cams or been there at the time know 100% that he was performing live.
Over the last four years of being a Dear I've grown very adept at reading certain differences between Dimash's live performances and pre-recorded ones. His lip synced performances are much much fewer than his live ones and only ever done when it's either a huge government sponsored occasion or in a venue that's not set up for a music production.
It's also annoying when people try to insist that all the New Wave songs are lip synced, that's not true either but because someone once said all performances in Russia are lip synced everyone takes that as the gospel truth when it's not true. Passione at New Wave was 100% live, Dimash confirmed this himself in an interview (and as we know he doesn't lie in interviews, he might dodge the question but he never answers untruthfully) and there is backstage footage of him literally turning his microphone on just before he goes on stage.
Someone once said he'd never performed the Diva Dance live, well that was disproved when Throga reviewed all four separate performances and found small differences in each performance.
I'm a stickler for honesty and fairness, if I know it's a lip synced performance then I don't mind admitting that but when I know or at least am 98% sure it is live then I will say so and try to give the evidence to prove it.

@@HaruNatsuAkiFuyu959 To add to what I said in my reply to @debbiemorgan859, thank you for replying with kindness, and I stand corrected. While I consider the DD Olimpico to be an artistic masterpiece in its own right, regardless of similarities or differences, and while I stand by my recommendation to experience it _after_ first experiencing the 2019 Olimpico, I over simplified my lip syncing claim.
As for noticeable differences, I found the layers of metaphors expressed in the video about dealing with Covid, the Olympian aspects of life for all, the realities of the (world) stage, and more, are stunning. Likewise the backing music, which echoes the earlier performances but adds so much.
And his vocals too are indeed not the same. However, I had been unable to pin down any vocal difference that my gut told me was absolutely definitely about a distinct vocal performance rather than post-production editing.
For me, mic moves don't necessarily prove what you're saying, even though I completely accept that he may well be singing most of the song live. Let me explain about the mic moves. I think of him as the world's best vocalist (though I won't say that to a non-Dear!), and that that includes both using a mic brilliantly to produce the best vocals _and_ lip syncing to ensure as best he can that any onlooker can't tell the difference. Thus I would expect him to move the mic away and then closer, as part of performing, regardless of whether he's singing live or lip syncing.
That said, I also know I don't know. So, as I said at the start, and to elaborate a bit on it, I stand corrected about being overly simplistic, and appreciate your openness and kindness about it, and must say I can't wait until I see him in a live concert! 😊
Peace and love from the UK 🕊💚

@@danielmarkiewicz8489 Dimash actually said when asked about this concert that it was performed as close to a real concert as they could make it, done in one take with breaks for costume changes only. Of course it was edited afterwards for the digital effects to be added but the whole concert was a live process. It's the way he wanted it done. Unless you think he was lying about that of course? But I've never known him to lie in interview, he might deflect a question but he's never actually outright lied about anything as far as I can see.
