Hi, great video. It was great hearing the Scots accent again as although I am English, my father was scottish and for 23 years I moved to live in the town of Blantyre where he was born. 23 memorable years! Reason I'm posting is because I am thinking of spending my remaining retirement years in Poland and was wondering if you have any contacts that can advise/assist on the correct procedures to be able to achieve this. I have contacted the Embassy in London with my enquiry but all they do is give me a link to visa application site which to be honest really does not help with the advice/questions I am seeking. Not to worry if you can't, just thought I would ask on the off chance you might know someone. Subscribed anyway as the content was very good.
Hi mate, thanks a lot. Appreciate it :) Haha my Aunt just bought a house in Blantyre a few months ago! Small world The best thing to do would be to contact a lawyer in Poland that deals with immigration/ visas and they could give you better advice on the retirement side of things. I couldn't recommend a specific one as I went down a different route to live here. I work with a business incubator that I put my invocies through for my work and they sorted my 3 year temp residency, taxes, etc. Saved me a lot of hassle If you Google 'immigration/ visa lawyers in Krakow', for example. a few should come up. I wouldn't pay anything upfront and ask just that you would like to know the process/ requirements before you go ahead Sorry I couldn't be more specific but hope this helps
@@nomadscotsman Hi again, appreciate you just responding in the first place, but not surprised, as one thing I learnt during my time in Scotland is that if you ask for some help you will get a straight answer, and seldom it will be a outright no ! I have been led to believe that I can only deal with this from the UK but intrigued to read that you suggest an immigration lawyer in Poland. I'll look into that angle, thanks. If you don't mind me being nosey :) could I ask what a 'business incubator' is? I have heard about setting up a company, not a Ltd one, as being a possible route to obtaining a Temporary Residency visa, maybe that's the same as a 'Business Incubator' that you mentioned. Anyway thanks again for responding, it's appreciated.
@@Ianmantra Don't mention it! I have done a bit of research - you can contact Krakspire and/or Investya.pl and they could perhaps help These are companies that specialize in this type of thing. Most people I know who have moved to Poland originally just came on a tourist visa, so up to 3 months for us. You can then apply for the temp residency and this can take approx. 4-6 months and you stay in Poland during that time Yeah, I hadn't heard of a business incubator either until I moved here. Basically, as I'm self-employed I put my invoices through them and it's almost like I am an employee of theirs. They get me the work permit and help me apply for temp residency and handle my taxes each month. I pay them a monthly fee, I think it's about 40 quid if I remember right. I think there are a few biz incubators offering this service and it seems many non-EU take this route. The company I use is Twoj Startup, so might be worth dropping them a message too Let me know if there's anything else and I will try to answer :)
@@nomadscotsman Thanks once again for replying, a true Scotsman! Honestly appreciate you giving up some of your time to research and respond but you may live to regret the last line of your reply :) :) . Thanks for the suggestions of who I could contact. Strangely enough I watched another YT channel a few days ago and it featured Sylvia who I believe set up Krakspire, and she was very informative so I emailed her a couple of days ago but as yet no response :( , maybe just busy! You said in your comment that you and others had just gone to Poland on a tourist visa, (did you actually apply for this or were you just entering Poland on a UK passport which allows a 90 day stay without a need for a any visa) and said that whilst there during the 90 days a Temporary Residency visa can be applied for (was this a very complicated even though I imagine the Business Incubator arranged this) and then you said you can remain there while its being processed even though the 90 days have passed. Is that the case now? or does it only apply if you have a Tourist Visa (Schengen Visa) which I imagine you would have obtained in Scotland before you travelled? Like I said you may regret your words :) :). But appreciate your help, believe me.
all good mate, happy to help. Yeah, maybe drop the others a message if she hasn't responded Yip, no visa just entered with UK passport. Yeah, it would be best to use one of the agencies mentioned. Doing it on your own and without a reason to be here other than wanting to live here might not be enough. Might work diff retiring here of course but I had to wait on my work permit first and then I received my temp residency permit (Karta Pobytu) Make sure to have health insurance also, that's a strict requirement for receiving your temp residency. No prob at all!
Pozdrawiam z Krakowa:)
Love the Scotland top❤
