- The first Volvo EC950F excavator at work in the UK with Collins Earthworks.

Not sure why I find the excavator beautiful and the best invention in earth moving equipment.
This is the machine Letsdig18 dreams about at night.
They had a Volvo 290 he dident like it wasent fast enough, and this is muuuuuch slower than that even.
I think it is a bit slow for Chris's taste. That bucket is huge but Chris like fast. :)
Imagine the cost and difficulty of moving a machine that big between job sites? The 220 is a good compromise AFAICT. MrAJ.Works has a 220 and I always thought it moved quickly. Now Chris has his own 220, and that also looks to be fast for its size. Chris has the versatility of his articulated grading bucket. Machines like the 950 just aren't designed for that sort of work. The overhead shots were nice. If the under carriage shot was on the front of the machine, that would've been snazzy.

I work for Ardula in kent have had the experience of the collins machine loaders they are very very good at there job. Hats off boys
Surprisingly soothing thing to watch
Uses the bucket very efficiently
I compared the collins EC750E with this 950F and the 750 loaded an A60 with 4 buckets in ~1minute. The 950 also needs four buckets but are just as fast or sometimes slightly slower. I know the 950 is brand new and it need to run a month or two before the hydraulics can be tweaked but atm its actually less efficient then the 750 due to it being a larger machine wich consumes more fuel for the same amount of job
We had two 750Es next to the 950 and they were both 5 passing the A60H

Did you also compare that the ec950 does not have SCR/DPF standards . That’s why no one runs them in the states . More uptime on the ole 950 and probably cheaper running? Just a thought.

Amazing machine. Is that the biggest bucket that you can use on the 950 or do they come bigger? A machine that large seems like the bucket can be much larger.

The only downside I've ever seen to volvo excavators I've seen is theyre slow
This is far quicker than most its size
You haven’t seen many then, Volvo are one of the quickest excavators from 30 ton upwards.

There was a blocked point on one of the pins. It was sorted about an hour later
