Just because I want to see Doto hit big number with the spirit bomb, I'm gonna say this: You can stack "Give me your energy" 3 times for a massive bomb - probably strong enough to actually one shot some fights.
I’ve been wanting to comment this for so many of his fights as Goku 😂😂😂
i was just typing this then i saw you did it, thank you good sir
Bruh it was LITERALLY in the command menu and he was just brushing past it when he was looking at the combos. Bro literally took "i'm a Yugioh player" to a greater heights man.
Ngl I was gonna comment that 😂
I kinda think he knows this cause I swore someone used it on BT4 in a three idiots video
Edit: he clearly doesn't know
"Hold on is there a tree of might saga?"
He ain't ready for the BT2 experience lmao
He underestimated the best DB story-mode of all time ahah
@@casghaiFr the pseudo open world with the lite RPG elements was so cool. Sad they removed the overworld, and a good chunk of the story missions in BT3.
The cutscene fight with Goku vs Vegeta is a shot for shot, blow for blow replication of the anime fight, it's really impressive the attention to detail they gave this one cutscene in an early 2000's anime game
The only thing missing is the iconic Kamehameha vs Galick Gun beam clash that happens before the Great Ape Vegeta fight
@@TheShadow1347 I think the AI is scripted to do the Galick gun at low health so the player can do it themselves
if only the kaioken looked even remotely close to what its supposed to look like.
Well not COMPLETELY accurate, but for back then it was pretty close.
Fun attention to detail is that if the character has a scouter than they can detect much faster compared to those who don't. That's why Vegeta with scouter was able to find Gohan easily but Great Ape Vegeta had to literally see Krillin to detect
Yeah they can auto detect eventually unless your an android in which they cant as androids dont have power levels and when a scouter character gets battle damage and loses their scouter they lose this ability (just look at their animation as they use rhe scouter in it)
Another detail, Hidden Energy is actually a move that makes your opponent lock-off if you're behind cover, but it drains all of your ki because, well, you can't be hidden with a super high ki charge.
@@BeaglzRok1high game design
But when scouters lose them by getting hit really hard they take longer than ki detectors, fun fact addendum :)
@BeaglzRok1 Someone watched that legendary hidden details video😂
Vegeta blinking at 19:28 without even being aware absolutely cracked me up
The man is using UI fr
“are you kidding me?!”
Just like he did when krillin threw the spirit bomb. The game is just trying to be cannon.
pretty canonical since he was blind but still dodge the spirit bomb
Goku hiding during the great ape vegeta fight is lore accurate
Especially you also did a Give me your energy
17:50 Dragon ball spawns that Doto proceeds to not see for the rest of the round lmao
😂😂😂 literally was right there to
Spawned for him twice and he still didn't see it 😂
Bro was fighting for his life xD
Well to be fair, it's a fight game so there's gonna be much more tunnel visioning than even regular games going on.
4:20 Doto: "when am i ever get the chance to fight garlic jr. in the story mode"
DBZ Budokai Tenkaichi 2: "just wait"
When great ape vegeta uses galic gun, it says "super GARLIC gun." That shit had me dying 😂
Final garlic cannon?
I mean... it's not wrong.
Tbf great ape gives him a ten times boost, so a ten times galick gun is way over super galick gun
lol
@@samburgerwithcheeze8145 ? the "super" part isn't what the comment is talking about
Ape Vegata: Where heck is this guy?
*dodges Kamehameha*
Ape Vegeta: Hmmm.... must've been the wind.
18:08 if you break objects in the map, you can see a dragonball that you can collect by walking to it
You can see it at 17:50 too 😂
No way Gohan got picked up like a plushie and said "This won't hurt me!" Bro knows he's HIMhan.
Alright I’m convinced I need this type of story in Sparking Zero
I have a feeling they'll go the BT3 route where there's less fights but there's phases during the fights.
I'd Also love if they bring back a bunch of the What Ifs(Especially The Raditz One)
This really was our Budokai Tenkaichi Two.
I always loved that when you do "share your energy with me" the spirit bomb forms in the sky
21:39
Doto unleashed his inner Anakin Skywalker.
Vegeta can lock on through obstacles because he’s got a scouter. All scouter characters can lock on even if they can’t see the enemy.
That Goku vs vegeta cutscene was fire considering how long ago this was made. Please continue this series I am so invested since I never played the game myself
I feel like the Namek Saga was what inspired Breakers. If you rewatch the series it’s the only part where weaker characters are running and hiding from stronger ones, while looking for the dragon balls and getting power ups.
I always thought it was the cell saga bc that’s what they first showed, the first trailer is all about cell trying to absorb people. Imo Cell fits the concept of the raider better than other villains so I always saw him as the og raider. Perhaps the part of looking for dragon balls is what was inspired by the namek saga
@@lucaslobo8002 Yeah, but no. Getting Civilians is the only part about the cell saga that is breakers related. Buu does it too in his saga, just eradicating humans. But on namek, the Z fighters and namekians (civilians) are actively running and hiding, sequestering the dragon balls, Gohan and Krillin, and Bulma are hiding in crevices, under water, running for their lives, Dende revives people, Guru and Nail are equivalent to Power Cubes. I said it already, rewatch the Sagas with Breakers in mind, and you’ll see what I mean.
@@sebastianmorin9780 But Breakers is also hugely about the villain growing stronger and evolving, and Cell encapsulates that perfectly.
bro dodged the Kamehameha like it was krilin's actual distro disc with looking just using his ears
Lore Accurate Saiyan Saga Vegeta
bro, i believe in you... "blinking" is just a "parry" a perfect guard
Hey during the fight with great ape vegeta as the earthlings you can see that there is a dragon ball on the ground. On some maps on missions if you destroy parts of the environment you can find dragon balls. At 18:37 if you pause you can see the dragon ball on the ground.
Hey there doto! Love the series so here's a small help: spirit bomb can be charged 3 times before launching it, energy volleys are OP, you can block rush attacks by pressing triangle while blocking (kinda slow so time it right) and if you finish your usual combo with a triangle, they'll be locked off and you can use it to your advantage
The ost of Budokai Tenkaichi 2 absolutely slaps. Especially the ost of the climax of GT saga called 'Dark half'
Fun fact: characters with scouters can lock on to people even if they're hiding
*Do "Give me your energy" x3 times and something special will happen when you perform the ultimate. Also; to win clashes, swirl the joysticks in a clockwise motion (Raditz minigame taught me this hard lesson). Don't panic when you do it, just breathe, open your palm over the sticks, place one finger over L3 and your 2nd middle finger over R3 (your other 1st middle finger and pinky will support), and let your hand complete the motion (it'll feel like you're stirring "smoothly" if done properly and you shouldn't hear clicks. If you're hearing clicking, you're going to possibly fail the motion (think street fighter swirling on crack). Failing the input also irl damages your controller, so that's fun.)~*
I forgot how detailed this game is. Character with scouters detect you though walls( unless they are damaged enough their scouter breaks or they ar fighting an android). Also "hidden energy" makes you opponent loose lock on if you are out their line of sight
The Move „hidden energy“ removes all your KI if you use it while hiding behind a building or something the Enemy will lose track and scan the area to look for you
that cutscene is just the canon fight more or less
Doto Little fun fact. You can’t hide against characters with scouters because they simply use it to find it no matter where you are. But if they are battle damaged they lose the scouter meaning it’s safe to hide
6:05 the background music drop hitet hard af
I’ve been trying to find the song in the comments this whole time
@@scoobus__ In case you're still looking, it's Battalion Unchained from BT2
10:35 AYE YO GARLIC GUN?!😂😂
When you were fighting garlic Jr. and mentioned vegeta going easy on the planet, all I could imagine was a smash cut to Nappa wreaking havoc across the area
This game was my first ever interaction with dragon ball and one of my first games ever when i was 5 years old. every line in that goku versus vegeta cutscene is the craziest nostalgia i have ever felt
This was actually my first experience with Dbz as a kid😂
Just wanna say that Goku not turning red during kaioken is just an issue with the emulator and you can fix it with the correct bios
Vegeta was finding you Easley because of the scouter any character that have scouter can easily find you it's actually a cool detail
Nah why did Vegeta appear around that rock like that🤣🤣
How does Vegeta know what a comedian is
Fun fact the first cutscene between Goku and Vegeta is totally anime accurate.
Fun Fact: Hidden Energy has a use. It forces enemies who can't see you to lose their Lock On. So if you go behind a rock and use it, the enemy will lose you.
20:44 it’s so funny seeing him pop off at hidden energy knowing it does literally nothing unless you’re trying to hide before using it
LMAOOO yall gonna cook me in these next few videos man
@@DotoDoyayou used hidden energy when you were using yajirobe.
if you use it while hiding it makes your opponent lock off to you is similar to stealth mode.
I learned about this From a TH-camr called kaDazee he makes videos about details in dbz games.
@@Ningamer-bo7ejlol same. Litterally thought the skill is bugged for years.
@@brotbrotsen1100 all they had to do is write hide your energy and we would have realized lol.
But i think it maybe have been translation error similar too Vegeta's galick gun being called garlic gun you can see it when great ape Vegeta use it in the video.
The cast of DB, DBZ, DBGT, and DBS if Goku went in first in all the fights 9:52
18:50 has me dying laughing Doto was about to yell FAT and changed it to loser
I love at 10:33 Vegeta just shows up like you were talking shit now catch these hands
The details in old games at times, Vegeta could always find you in that gohan fight because he has a scouter, it works through walls :D love the vids!
I’m so glad you’re doing these. The nostalgia is craaaazy
Ayo?! New episode of the series as I eat dinner let's go!! Whoop some azz Doto!
Bruh doto hiding from ape vegeta into spirit bomb and missing is so funny 💀
Fun fact: The reason Vegeta was seeing you through the mountains when you were fighting him with Gohan and not in the other fights is because he has a scouter in base, so he has an easier time locking onto you, but he loses it when transforming into the Great Ape, which is why you were able to hide from him so effectively
This moment broke doto lol 19:28
I know I always played story modes, but this is tremendous animation for the pre-fight.
10:33 Not the Garlic Gun! 😭🤣
Just out here rewatching the GOATs redball speedrun before this popped up
3 things:
1. At 17:55: if you end this combo with triangle you slam the enemy to the ground an he loses vision on you
2. Also at 17:55 if terrain is destoryed theres a chance of finding dragonballs which you can pick up (on the ground in the backround)
3. characters with scouters can lock in and see you through objects from anywhere
10:42 the way he peaked around the corner
great ape vegeta UI dodging krillin without even looking is lore accurate
Loving the DBZ throwback series! Brought back alot of raging BUT enjoyable memories😁
Playing “Blues Clues” with a Dragonball at 18:37 had me pointing at the screen like a 6 year old and I regret nothing.
I wanna share two tips about Base Goku in this game (it's also applicable to BT3's Goku early for kaioken and Goku mid for spirit bomb)
You can use the "give me your energy" skill up to 3 times, each time increasing the damage and the range of the spirit bomb (it takes two blast stocks to use one time and iirc Goku can have up to 7 [at least in bt3)
Kaioken is your other Blast 1 skill and buffs all damage done while it's active, it gives an insane boost of damage to the Blast 2 Kaio Ken Attack
11:50 you can see a dragon ball on your radar because vegeta destroyed the rocks Lol. I can't wait to see the namek episode
Bruh there is another one at 17:55😂
I’m terrified to see how the Mr. satan and android 18 fight is going to go.
I can't believe I just witnessed him playing hide and seek with Vejituh 😂
A small part of me thought he was using the new vegeta in legends and noticed how bad he was 😭
Super 17 just looking down at Vegeta fr
Bro charged up the the Final Flash for 25 episodes in the anime and they still gave him no ki restore. Right after they released LF Super 17, too, who basically uninstalls your game the moment he catches a whiff of ki leaving your unit's position.
That's what I thought lol
Okay, that pre-fight cutscene with Vegeta went dummy. This was back in 06?
Hidden energy makes the opponent lose you
i love the thought of krillin shouting "KAMAHAMAHA!" and vegeta hearing it with doto going "how did he know??"
I love how he collected every and then later around 1:40 you can see the spirit bomb in the background in the sky. Great detail
Imagine Goku comes back to Earth, defeats Nappa, and says "OH BOY! I left my keys in King Kai's car! Gotta split!"
Watching Great Ape Vegeta rip Doto a new one makes me really excited to see his reaction to BT2's version Wrath of the Dragon. Hirudegarn was a nightmare to fight, to my memory, and on hard mode he'll definitely give Doto a 'fun' time
10:22. he's slinging me around like an action figure had me weak
"THIS LIKE A MACHINIMA" Doto you just jiggled my memory jar
Having owned this game as a kid, can confirm that Great Ape Vegeta was one of the most infuriating bosses I have ever fought in my lifetime. One time when I was eleven I had a cousin stay over and we replayed this mission over and over through the whole night, and I woke up the next morning just in time to see Vegeta kill him with a grab.
Good times.
In this game Vegeta is the legendary super Saiyan and Yamoshi fused
I have been loving this series. It's a trip down memory lane. I never did beat them on hard mode though. Only normal
10:34 Good thing you escaped last second 😂
18:44 you can see a Dragon Ball in the background near a crater. I don't know if you know this but you can find Dragon Balls pretty fast and consistently if you destroy structures during fights and peek around.
So here's something I've only learned recently despite having played it as a kid. You can actually hold the Charge button (L2 on PS2) while beam clashing, which makes you add more strenght to your beam, at the cost of your ki. It's a BT2 exclusive feature and I think that's how you're meant to beat Hard CPUs in beam clashes.
Oh and by the way, dragon balls can be found sometimes after destroying part of the environment. The tricky part is noticing the yellow indicator on your minimap that appears only after destroying certain background objects, and actually grabbing it before your opponent does.
hard cpu beam clashes had a gimmick?? never needed it 😂 youner me was on xgames mode
@@mrpopo860 definitely played games like I wasn't the one buying new controllers 😭😭
Doto, you get dragon balls in this game by destroying structures around the arena, one of the structures will always spawn a dragon ball that you can collect
The title alone ensures this is going to be an entertaining video.
1:00 - Look at how bald the bald guy is. Y’know… bald people tend to be bald. Nappa clearly took offense to that comment given how he started pulverising you from the word go.
2:16 - That “Oh god” cut out at the perfect time. Nappa really did take issue with your bald comments.
4:54 - That would have been ‘sick.’ I think the water may have effect Garlic Jr’s fall and that is why it didn’t land. The water has some odd effects on attacks and movements in this series.
7:46 - I had forgotten how good that cutscene was. It’s been a long time since I played BT2, what with BT3 having the superior gameplay. BT2’s story mode is still the best though.
11:32 - I was going to comment that same thing but here you go. An then you even make the Dragon Ball the Breakers comparison, which was going to replace my survival horror comment. You’re stealing all my comment here.
16:51 - You were him for two blinks; just needed a third to truly be him.
19:29 - What!? I didn’t think you could teleport when you weren’t locked on. That’s the CPU pulling out some busted tactics.
25:10 - Oh yeah, it’s Budokai Tenkaichi 3 that gives Kid Gohan the cooler Ultimate. Having your ultimate be a rush attack followed by Vegeta’s Technique is a bit of a let-down.
Lmao 🤣 he implemented breakers by hiding from ape vegeta 😂
I remember this one! For reference hidden energy only works when there is an object like a rock in the way. It will force a lock off.
Fun fact, the fight choreo in the cutscene was lifted straight for the anime.
10:40 Vegeta blasted him so hard that the video went to a 10 second ad from my end😂😂😂😂😂😂
This video inspired me to play this game again. I can still remember combos just from muscle memory too even though its been 10 years since I've played it 😂
The cutscenes were one of the MANY reasons i love BT2 story mode, there are not many, but when they show up, they were awesome to watch
7:16 just for the record doto, he actually turns red here its just that your emulator is broken
17:57 Lol there is dragon ball right there lol on the ground next to Gohan.
Bro doto reaction to great ape vegeta dodging his beam and saying it's rigged had me rolling 😂😂 man fr
Fun fact, normal vegeta found you faster because he has a scouter, while great ape couldn't cause he didnt and he doesn't know how to sence ki
Don't know if it applies to the older games but I know in BT3 you can add more ki by pressing super button during ki clashes to make them more powerful. Hope it helps
Nothing excites me more then when he gets to Bardock, like bro he is my all-time fav dbz character and its so sick. BT2 is easily my fav dbz game ever it had everything idk. LOVING this playthough
Hey doto really enjoyed the video you are always entertaining to watch, just a heads up going forward in this game both kid Gohan and Yajirobe have a move called hidden energy which when used behind a structure (rocks and buildings things of that nature) makes it so they can't be located/ detected by the enemy so they can hide better
2:13 HE BLINKED IT?! INTO HIS ULTIMATE?! OH GOOOO (GIANT EXPLOSION)
Both kid gohan yajirobe have hidden energy it Drains all your energy so your opponent can't lock on to you
I think you know this, but you can collect balls by destroying all the buildings on the map
KEEP IT UP DOTO loving this serie man
Doto being lore accurate by hiding to charge the spirit bomb and still missing.😂
I can’t wait for the playthru to be done so i can save the playlist cuz it’s bout to go CRAZY
I love how you broke Nappa's back with the kioken... and waited for Vegeta to finish him.
HEY DOTO!
Clashes in BT2 let you spend Ki to get an advantage. Just hold the charge button and you'll spend ki to make your clash stronger, but if you spend it all, you'll be tired afterwards.
And, if an enemy is coming at you with a rush attack, press block, and then press triangle, and you'll do a SUPER GUARD, it'll let you block any attack at reduced damage at the cost of ki.
It's REALLY cool, and honestly, BT2 has so many little mechanics like this that BT3 doesn't.
