The thing is, you can't debate someone in the classic sense (putting forth arguments and responding with the intent to arrive at truth) when they will accept nothing less than a shoutdown to utter concession. It long ago abandoned even the pretense of being a search for truth and became a gladiatorial match to the death.
No Pee Anyone can try starting it all they want, but when you get someone who does the metaphorical equivalent of putting their fingers in their ears and then shouting until you get tired of trying to be reasonable, there's no more that can be done.
CV, please. You fuckers get crushed in violence even worse than you do in debate- yes, that IS possible! The Left are screeching for civil war and "revolution" with an enemy that owns 14,000,000,000,000 rounds of ammunition, while they still can't figure out which bathroom to use.

@@theoutsider8745 too bad Trump hasn't been much of a monster so far and has gained more support through his successful presidency. The unemployment rate is the lowest it's been in 54 years not to mention the pullback of escalating hostilities with Iran. Although there is plenty to criticize just like any president, take Obama for example he deported more illegal immigrants than Trump by such a large margin that Obama's nickname was "Deporter in Chief." Yet I never hear the media bring this up as well as the Democrats going so far left that as someone who is most of the time a centrist is now closer to the right than the left. I forgot which news publication said this but according to policies during respective presidencies if you voted for Obama twice you are closer to a Republican/Trump now because of the far left media push. The Democrats are doing it to themselves and it's a shame.

Well, Jonathan Pie is right on. I am from rural Ohio - I grew up on a farm. I worked super hard and made it into college. I graduated with honors from a great liberal arts college in Ohio. I then moved to Seattle. I thought I leaned left was but was not left enough for the people I worked with. These were very nasty, passive aggressive, far left people. I was conservative compared to them. They treated me like I was inbred, backward, etc. while they were progressive, sophisticated, etc. They persecuted me, discriminated against me, etc. They hated everything good and wholesome and held up as great most all things malignant. I had initially bought into the hype that the left was tolerant, inclusive, embraced diversity, etc. but found out that all of this is rubbish---it is a lie! If you disagree with them on social issues, etc. they will shut you out. I accepted them but they did not accept me. Over time, all of this turned me against the left in general and now I am conservative. Hillary calling Trump supporters deplorable fits the pattern as does referring to inland America as "flyover". The left's behavior in this regard really hurt those on the receiving end and is a reason why Trump reasonated so well. The so called deplorables overwhelmingly are solid, hard-working, wonderful, traditional, patriotic, common-sense people and are not at all the hate filled bigots the left portrays us to be.
In Seattle, when "liberals" set fires and destroy businesses is is 'free speech.' But if you insult Grunge you are a racist corporatist extreme right winger. All said as they stand in line to pay $10 for a coffee at Starbucks.
I know what you mean-- I'm a mixed-ballot Seattle native. A week later, and most of my friends are STILL spewing posts demonizing anyone who didn't vote for Hillary, with no signs of slowing down. I've been coming to watch this video every day for a sanity check. 'Normal' here is asking my husband to lower his voice when he mentions politics where we might be overheard, being extremely careful not to mention current events, or a dozen other 'tip-toe over glass' subjects.
Now show me on the doll where the left touched you..... Cmon guy that's only a small segment of democrats. Those are ultral leftists you probably would be shout out by ultra right wing people too. There's plenty of moderate leftists that lean conservative on certain issues but still got dem like me that would t treat you like that.
As a classical liberal/libertarian leaning type, I don't consider this modern iteration of far left social justice warriors as true liberals. They are merely authoritarians and/or neoliberal elitists who hold a few socially liberal views so that they can feel good about themselves and morally superior in their privileged lives. They are essentially the flip side of the religious right who use tactics of shaming and silencing in their own way. True liberalism stresses equality, individuality, challenging prevailing viewpoints, and an openness in expressing differing ideals and freedom of speech. The mainstream modern left, at least in America, goes against all these fundamentals. That's why I always find it funny when these people belittle the religious/extreme right, because in many ways they are their mirror image and share many similarities.
I have YET to hear a republican tell me wtf they have to offer the common man. I ask and all i get is "what do the dems have to offer!?" I didn't ask that. Or "to grow" Grow where? Up my ass? Because you can make a business anytime in most countries. Trump was given a chance, he blew it. NEXT!

He's 100% correct. Believe it or not, he is making the exact same argument (regarding free speech, free exchange of ideas, and open and HONEST dialogue) that Milo Yiannopulous makes. They may be on opposite sides of the the ideological fence, but they share the same passion for open and honest debate. This is one of the best rants I've heard in a long time, although I count myself in Milo's camp, ideologically speaking.
I'm seeing a lot more of this argument from some on the left who realize that the opposition silencing has come back to bite them in the ass. Here's a great piece today from the Daily Caller: dailycaller.com/2016/11/11/twilight-of-the-cultural-tastemakers/
Milo's actions rise to the level of harassment frequently. Having a right and having the good judgement to exercise it carefully are two different things.
Asteroid/Earth 2016 freedom of speech does not mean freedom from the consequences of using it. Just because you could say something, doesnt mean you necessarily should. You have every right to offend me, but if you do it in the wrong way dont be suprised if you get a smack in the kisser.
I belong to the left and has allways found it distasteful and horrid, if that counts for something. I'm also a norwegian, living in a country where people don't act that way, and where conversation and debate is still held in high regard.
I totally agree, and there is not enough of it going on today. Too many people think that if someone doesn't agree with them on a topic, that automatically means they are being attacked, and must attack in return. Sadly, I have seen more of this on the left than on the right. Just looking at the numerous times at various colleges where people are protested and speakers are attacked and disinvited because they have beliefs that differ from others. We need to spend more time on understanding each other, and why we hold the views we hold. That doesn't mean we will agree on everything, but we will at least understand why we hold those views rather than its because of racism, sexism, exc.
Having been in that position myself, I know that a lot of that comes from acting emotionally, feeling victimized. A lot of people have felt like they are victims of policies or actions people take that have bases in religious groups (on campuses, religion is often related to the kinds of stuff you're talking about). It's not right -- an eye for an eye -- but I know where it comes from. We as a people need to learn better emotional training and management, because it goes beyond just religion. This here is one of the reasons, I don't feel like I fit into any of the standard groups or labels society has. I tend to lean left, progressive, libertarian, personal freedom, on issues. But what those first two labels hold for a lot of people are emotionally weak children who shame people they disagree with into silence. I mean, just look at the internet and the mobs of SJWs that go out of their way to destroy the lively hood of people that hold a different viewpoint. It brings it back to the top. Debate. Persuasion. Compromise. These things require you to engage and comprehend the positions and views of others. I've changed my views on just as many things as other people have changed theirs. That or we just accept we see the world differently and move on.
Exactly. Diversity includes different ideas. You can't have real diversity in a crowd of black, white, brown, Asian, gay, straight, etc if everyone thinks the same and has the same opinion on everything. That's a garden of flowers where everything smells the same.
Person A wants to be left alone. Person B wants to physically hurt person A Why won't person A accept person B's feelings? Let's discuss our differences? Bad things are actually happening to my personal friends and loved ones because of the rhetoric that is being espoused by one of the Parties. You might not be a racist. But pointing out racism is not racism. Nazi symbols and beating people up is not discussing differences. Rationalize why it's OK all you want , but you'll just be proving my point.
That's false equivalence. Nazi symbols and beating people up is not discussing differences. Correct. That is something completely different and needs to be addressed in a different manner. People whining because of differing opinions and people reporting someone being violent or harassing a person are not the same thing at all.

Anyone who can honestly look at their behavior and make that kind of commitment is awesome, no matter what side of the fence they're on. You, Kassie, are awesome. :) If there's anything I've learned from watching social media blow up the last few days, it's that people who promote peace and honest discussion, and come ready to listen should be sought after, celebrated, and emulated.
I really hope you mean that. People would love to engage in debate. I've been saying for a while that accusations of bigotry have lost their impact, just like the boy who cried wolf. I'm a girl and I was genuinely bothered by Clinton and every celebrity who constantly pulled the woman card. It got to the point where not only men but even women were fed up with it. I don't care whether the candidate's male of female. I will vote based on your ability to lead a country. Sure, I think a female president would be a great progress for equality but there are other ways to achieve that. Making a female candidate president just because she's a woman, but not fit for the job, is ridiculous. Your gender is not an argument.
Why do you think it would be progress for equality? Are you saying women haven't yet developed the "ability to lead a country"? Or do you think being President is some sort of right that there should be equality in? Or are you just a typical woman who puts women ahead of country?
I am a man and I understand your argument but I think I also understand what Winteris Coming (great name btw - just a few more days till Game of Thrones airs its 7th season): Here's the thing (the way I see it): Women have always had the ability to lead a country but in order for a woman to be elected she needs men to vote for her too. Progress is when the vast majority of men will have no problem voting for a woman and THAT is the million dollar question: "Have men in the USA progressed there yet"? Because it seems odd there was yet no woman American President. Israel, a tiny country only 70 years since it became a sovereign state, had a woman PM (Golda Meir) 48 years ago (two - if you count the 24 hours that Tzipi Livni was PM). Hell - Pakistan had a woman leader and the USA none yet? I think Hillary Clinton was a terrible choice (totally agree with Jonathan Pie) but were there no candidates before her? (and if not - why not)?
Fred Neecher. Is it so hard to think outside of your own box to even theorize why? A female president is a landmark and a symbolic victory that solidifies the achievement of meritocratic equality. When it happens and hopefully through merit of the woman it will always be symbolically important to people who campaign or used to campaign for the equality. It doesn't matter how equal we are, the first time will always have some symbolic value to it.
+Toveri Juri We might not have the first female president, but we have something almost as good. The first ever Oompa Loompa. Wonka will be so proud when he gets the news.

I'm glad to see so many comments who can agree to disagree! Or acknowledge that they agree on some things, and not others, and remain cordial. I was so fearful we've lost that ability over the past decade or so. I see it on both sides, but I do admit the left has been a lot worse about that. If you fall under any negative label they brand you with, often without even doing what they accuse you off, you lose all credibility to them. Then they tell people to avoid you/not support you over a trivial thing, such as a statement, often without providing sources. And even with sources, is a statement enough to condemn someone, or harass them? I feel like the left feels like they're little lawyers and detectives. The stuff Hillary said years ago about the black youth? Oh, she's changed her mind! Trump's comments a decade ago? Sexist! I don't like what either candidate has said in the past, but ignoring what one said and focusing on another, is bias, and frankly, corrupt. People need to learn to stop being so biased, and look at the WHOLE picture, and think more rationally, than emotionally. And the left even comes to the point where even if you are a member of one of the minorities they claim to defend, if you question anything, or say or do something they do not agree with, they throw you to the dogs. I've seen so many cases of queer people being doxxed or harassed by internet vigilantes, because they disagreed with some part of some left-focused topic. There isn't discussion anymore. It's such black and white, us vs them thinking nowadays. People are forgetting that everyone is different in every way, and it would be so much better if we took the time to listen to each other, and agree to disagree. But the left tends to say, "If you think like this, you hate X group/want X group dead!" which is such a huge jump. Then what you have to say is invalidated to them because you fall under X negative label.
Golden Wizard you do realize simply calling people morons don't actually make them morons? Just like if I called you a unicorn it doesn't make you a unicorn . Nice try tho

How had I missed this one? Damn. Pie calling it as it was. And is. I'm so sick of people claiming to be liberals trying to shut down reasonable debate. It's another form of fascism. I'm liberal. I believe everyone should be treated equally and that everyone should be safe from harm. Not shielded from mean words, but encouraged to talk to the bullies and show them why they are wrong. Healthy discussion should take place at all points, not silencing and physical, harmful attacks from both sides. And yet, people on both sides constantly berate me for either being "pro-inequality" or "a Libtard". I have PTSD, I know I'm absolutely shite at arguing my point, so I shut it all out. I wish I was stronger, so I could argue my beliefs, show the world why we should all care about our fellow people. That is why I'm thankful for the ones like you, Mr Pie.
There's no need to fear what people have to say or think about you. Never should have been. All opinions should be laid out on the table and all opinions should be treated with respect. People like him exist all over. It just depends on where you go. On social media, because it's always a lowest common denominator cesspit, you'll always get hyperbole from all ends. People on the left are the regressive "everything offends me" type and people on the right are very much an "uneducation is my education" type. Both are terrible. Furthermore, social media simply allows people to create and live in a bubble. The left will blame the right for being idiots and bigots, yet the right will blame the left for being too coddling and childish. None of them are talking about the decades long failure of neoliberalism and globalization and technology hollow out the middle and push us into a post-work society. Instead, they look for what hyperbolic nonsense they can get worked up about while they ignore the greatest social transformation of this century. To give you a specific example, where are we talking about the fact five million jobs will be gone from the US before 2020 and driverless trucks will get rid of America's most employed occupation? Instead, we're digesting Alex Jones and Anita Sarkeesian. What rubbish.
as a liberal that hated Hillary there are a lot more of us. The Democratic party for a long time is not what liberals truly are. The true left stayed home this election cycle because they could not vote for wither candidate.
@ShakinJamacian: Bravo, so much truth in your post. I consider myself conservative but I have long been thinking about much of what you say and consider it to be the real core of these issues. Further automation of the workforce in the (near) future is one of the things which terrifies me most - I am not against it per se, but I just do not know how our societies will handle it, I'm not convinced it will be handled very well; my gut feeling is it will simply create a larger underclass of people out of work and dependent on state subsidy. My parents are in their 70's and they often talk about how when they were young "people" talked about how computers would mean everyone worked less and had more leisure time, while still delivering the same levels of productivity as before computers. But instead what they got was people working the same hours or more, but expected to deliver much more in that time due to the computer assistance accelerating their workloads. I can imagine something similar happening going forward with new technologies as a best case scenario, but at worst as I alluded to earlier, the prospect of having way too many people with their jobs taken by machines, who will then no longer serve a "useful" purpose to society, but will still require food, housing, services, and a certain standard of living to stop them going mad. Add to that things like medical science extending lifespans even further it just boggles the mind - this is where sci-fi like Logan's Run and Elysium come from!
spongthe1st One way we could handle it is with a basic income. How we devise that is important, but I'd like to phrase the significance of it like this. If we assured people a minimum floor, they wouldn't suffer via poverty and precarious situations. This not only means we can get rid of work that is either bad for the Earth (coal jobs) but also automate things that are simply cheaper and safer to give to machines, like truck drivers. Not only this, but poverty is a mental disease: we know enough to say that being in poverty increases anxiety, stress, and actually causes neural pathways in the brain to be damaged and closed. We actually hinder human potentiality and wellbeing by letting people live in poverty. A basic income is also not a left idea, but a forward idea. Looking into people who support it, it ranges from the current President of the United States, to most technologists, to members of the World Economic Forum, to Martin Luther King Jr, to Richard Nixon, to even Stephan Hawking. And yet, no establishment figure really is hammering this point. Trump literally banked on a job policy circa 1986, not 2016. And we're prone to lose at least 5 million jobs before the end pf the decade to automation and AI, specifically. His failure here will show his introduction to fascism also misses the mark, just like neoliberalism has for decades. We should really be asking why we've made automation and better methods of production so chaotic for people. How is it that we're literally more prosperous as a nation than at any time ever in human history, yet nearly half of the people living here need at least two jobs, and they still struggle for baseline needs? Something is fucking warped here.
Hmm... I'm not convinced. Because if it is, why is the right doing well despite repeatedly calling everyone who disagrees with them namby-pamby, bleeding-heart liberals; or tree-hugging, lovey-dovey lefties; or terrorist-sympathising, ISIS-loving traitors; or PC-obsessed SJWs. It's got to be more than just namecalling. There's got to be more that the left is doing wrong.

The thing is you see the same from both sides. Like in a lot of cases, some of the same right wing people that decide to criticise left wing people for getting offended, act exactly the same when you bring an opposing viewpoint to them. I guess it just depends on the people really. If you’re too far into a political belief, and are surrounded by people equally far into it, chances are that you and them will swarm and insult (or worse) literally anybody that challenges you in the slightest.
sinnedciti People should really stop insulting each other and open the debate. Politics won't change for the better unless we work together or at least are able to exchange points of view without the media trying to lynch someone.
Does he script these things? If not, that was a bloody fantastic ad lib. If so, he really knows how to make it look like it was a bloody fantastic ad lib XD
He said that when he's going "err err" that him trying to remember he's lines. But it works well when you are acting the part of a man up on his soap box.
It’s honestly sad the direction the liberal party is headed. I don’t think we will have a liberal in office for quite sometime. If 2016 was any lesson, don’t bother listening to the polls.
@Raul Paredes I don't think the problem is "woke" per se, b/c all woke originally meant was for whites to "wake up" or be "awoken" to the reality blacks face in America, which is nothing new. What "woke' has now become is our PC culture of "agree with my extremism or be throw to the fire." "Woke" needs to be reclaimed for what it rightfully was about, racism, and not be further co-opted to be about angry white college kids.
@Raul Paredes Y'know, I'm libertarian. I reached out to some of my friends who I know to be decently hard left, and said let's talk about why we disagree on things and see where we have common goals that we could agree to work toward. My friend, and three of his friends viciously attacked me and literally any counterpoint I raised, even when I tried to give them that I agree in principle with some of their points. It wasn't good enough. They don't represent liberal values, save where they help them score points in some sort of game that only they seem to be playing. They demand absolute conformity of opinion or they will tear you apart for nothing.
sadly it might very well happen. Biden's driving point in the campaign literally was "Hey, at least we're not Trump". Two years and a few political disasters after, Biden's approval has tanked to 40% versus a 55% disapproval rate, making it clear that saying "We aren't them" was not enough
@@DonPatrono He's clearly going senile - it's fine, he's getting old, it happens, but this means you should plan your campaign carefully - next vote for Biden will not be a vote for Biden, it will be a vote for his VP, and if it's still Kamala Harris for next election, then I am almost certain Biden will lose.
Beto O’Rourke in Texas is talking to people in tens of different districts that Cruz never visited; change is happening, just not yet in the places that count.
I think it's because the world is left wing enough, it doesn't need anymore so there really is nothing the left can say and do to win anymore. The only way they can win is unforced errors from the other side (Be like the left). If the left wanted to win again it would come up with a plan to make Government SUPER efficient and effective and not ask for more tax.
Lol I will revist this on Nevember should Trump get re-elected. After the Iowa Fiasco, I am guessing the dems will do to bernie EXACTLY what they did to him in 2016. I swear, the corporate DNC has got to be Trump's greatest ally.
Ray Zer exact same principle isn’t it? All I saw in my twitter feed during the election period was people insulting those who were voting Tory. It’s unbelievably pathetic.
Wow, that just raised the IQ of political discourse in the world by quite a bit. I wonder if the people he is talking to will even understand, never mind agree.
Join the right wing death squads, we have freedom, cookies, and jokes about dead Jews. And if that offends people, they'll probably grow from it. Time to stop being overgrown babies.
***** It's a joke. The entire point is to offend. Let people have fun by getting a rise out of you, and have fun yourself getting a rise out of them. If it's not uncouth and offensive and nasty, it wouldn't need to be protected. Free speech protects the dirty, nasty things people don't like hearing, not the nice flowery things that nobody minds. So exercise it, to see who the enemies of free speech really are. Then exercise it more, to bother them.
2024 and this is still 100% true. Even when I ask my intelligent, open minded and politically centre left friends “why do you think Trump won twice?” they immediately default to “oh cuz the American people are stupid that they voted for a racist, sexist bigot” proving Pie’s point exactly. It’s precisely this dismissive and condescending attitude from the left that dismiss there are legitimate reasons why ordinary people voted for Trump that perpetuates and fosters the environment in which he thrives.
As a member of the Right, that no longer participates on Facebook because my ideas and thoughts do not align with most of my left-leaning friends, I have to say "Well done and spot on".
That depends, do you believe in the patriarchy? Do you think the US/EU is a rape culture? Do you think all white people are racist, and all men are sexist? Do you think gender is a social construct? Do you think that every moment of sex should be verbally consented to like some kind of pay as you go sex call? If you believe in any of these things then yes, you should reevaluate yourself, go watch Thunderf00t or Sargon or anyone similar on feminism and the regressive left. If not you're probably not as far left as you think.
oBLACKIECHANoo I've always considered myself a Center-Left, but I admit, I've looked down on Right-Wing and Conservative people a lot, on intellectual/political/religious matters...
As someone who's right wing, I have respect for SOME left wingers these days because they stand for something and don't spew bullshit all over the Mainstream Media. Liberals (for the most part) are a fucking cancer on society, they are made up of whiny, idiotic children who rely entirely on celebrities and the Mainstream media to formulate their political beliefs for them.
The thing about far-left economic attempts is that they rely too much on people being good. A perfect system cannot be implemented by an imperfect species. Working systems IRL work with the understanding that human flaws must be managed on an ongoing basis. That being said, I dislike how the far-right thinks the solution is to go all the way in the other direction, penny-pinching on things like mental healthcare to squeeze out another 0.01% for the GDP.
Amen. It boggles me how people rant about the issue of "socialism murders people" but will go all-in on a system that literally leaves people to die because wealth alone somehow makes someone a worthy person.
Daniel Allen Well to be fair for capitalism it’s at least possible (in most cases) for one to work for their money and to become a wealthier individual. However in socialism/communism the more people who don’t work lower the economy and lower wages. Then on top of that your wage, no matter the job, is either predetermined, unlikely unless useful yet rare job, or is as good you being a soldier getting paid as much as much as a cashier. It’s just healthier and better for the poor people to have capitalism in most situation, almost all situations.
Understand, I'm a capitalist. In general. I'd just prefer that we restrain the worst outcomes of capitalism, so we don't end up in a new feudal system. Who can afford Ivy league as opposed to the Divine Right of Kings.
I'd say that it has become MORE relevant, ESPECIALLY because of Biden's victory Again, in 2020, Trump's perceived image made it feel like he should have been beaten black and purple at the vote. And yet...only a 3% difference, because Biden didn't represent change. Because he's an old man that REALLY looked long in the tooth and not entirely there, wnot exactly reassuring when you're supposed to lead the country with the largest nuke arsenal. Because in his career as politician he had few contributions, none entirely flattering. It's clear that the only reason he was able to win is because he was propped up against Trump coming out from four years of intensified campaigning against him (not that Trump really did much to prove them wrong) that continued to paint every Trump supporter as racist, sexist, homophobic, ignorant etc. The Dems could have pulled up basically anyone, and still have won, but the veeery low margin really shows how they literally chose the bottom of the barrel, proved by the fact that Biden's popularity has steadily gone down with no true signs of an inversion of tendency. And yet, once again, what do the people who voted for Biden have to say? *AT LEAST HE IS NOT TRUMP* Sorry gents and ladies, as Mr. Price rightfully said, that is not enough. Choosing a dubious political candidate because "hey, at least he's not *that other guy* y'know" does very little to improve the situation.
I am actually applauding you for being one of the few persons that got the problem in its core. Now,can you just preach it to those idiots in the streets?
To me the way people are attributing this problem to PC culture and SJWs is misidentifying the problem completely. Trumps voter base comes from forgotten America, those neo-liberalism left behind whilst the rich got richer. That being said Hillarys campaign focused way too much on identity politics.
Us Bernie folk have been preaching this forever, because we all had boots on the ground and talked to you guys very constructively. The Democratic Party is pathetic.
The most important point Jonathan made is that the left is shutting down discussion with neo-McCarthyism tactics. We saw it with Brexit. We saw it with Trump. It's the left that has the fascist tactics.
I think it might partly be social media and how it creates an echo chamber for everyone, so people are only exposed to views they already agree with and end up believing everyone else thinks the same as them, so they get over confident about their opinions and feel more righteous about them, and it's easier to dismiss and ridicule other people who think something different, because they're seen as an outlier in comparison to all the info on your Facebook/twitter feed that supports your own view. And that's the same for both 'left' and 'right.'
Definitely. People should be inviting their opposition to challenge them not trying to shame them into silence, and those that are silent to stop the fear of being shamed. There is no shame in trying to have a reasonable debate.
The New Knights Code labels that get banded about: commie, libtard, socialist, racist, sexist, pie in the sky... The left, right and centre are all doing it and it becomes quite toxic.
Imagine if we all put this much effort into changing something, instead of watching videos about it, silently nodding and then just ignoring it for the rest of the day... Or more like "you all", not "we all"... Personally, I am done with all this shit, forever. And I suspect I am not the only one. This is gonna get rough...
I think the general thesis of what was said is correct. The left doesn't present logical arguments anymore, not because they don't have reasons for their belief (Who believes in something 'just because' or 'because they're stupid'? Nobody. We all have arguments to make.), but rather because they've just grown lazy from decades of perceived victories and a cancerous PC culture. The left damages themselves through this decadence. Just look at the current list of candidates for the next election on the Democrat side. Who do they got? Elizabeth Warren? Run Sanders or Clinton again? Or Michelle? Oprah? They have nearly nobody on their bench anymore, as everyone who wasn't named Clinton or Kennedy or some other veteran from the 60's was reduced to serving their 'betters' coffee and giving them briefings. There was no apprenticeship. No passing on of skills or development of new blood. Obama was perhaps the exception to this rule, but even in the 08 election it was still Clinton as his opposition. Now there is nobody left and Liberals have nobody but themselves and their complacency to blame for it. The only way to actually start moving towards political parties that are at least somewhat free of corruption and nepotism is to abandon sacred cows like "HILLARY CLINTON MUST BE THE FIRST WOMAN PRESIDENT" and start questioning the leadership as well as getting more involved in your party. The GOP faces similar problems - maybe not as bad, but we could easily be in the same place 8 years from now. Corruption, nepotism, and bad logic are EVERYONE'S enemy; whether you are left, right, or whatever.
The Democratic Party collectively tripled down on every single criticism presented in this video and are now reaping the consequences for a second failed election. Bravo.
Im left and this video helped me learn alot, especially in this last election. I completely hold my hands up that i was someone who judged or scoffed at people for being conservative. Almost implying that they supported racism or didn't like immigrants etc I'd usually say it like a joke but it was clear passive aggression. Now I've spoken to my friends openly who vote conservative and although i still don't agree as MOST not all but most seem to just vote that way because their family did I at lest got some insight as to why and they made very good points in general. Now i discuss it with my friends, we sometimes even give eachother a bit of shit and then we fucking move on and go for a drink! The way it should be and i was embarrassed that i acted like how Pie describes the left in this video.
I think the thing we need to do is meet each other halfway. Me and my liberal friends disagree, but we have to come to the closest understandment and agreement we can reach. I don't think either side is wrong - we just have different perspectives and come together with one another so we can both get what we want and be satisfied. I will never understand why my friends voted for Hilary Clinton, its just crazy to me and it could be anything, but it's also none of my business to lecture them on their own values or why they did it. Thanks for understanding and growing though!
I love to hear that people are seeing the light and seeing that people on the other side may have a different answer to the argument but they may bring some valid points that you may not have considered before. This is how you build a great system because both sides see issues and both have different solutions and the best answer is somewhere in the middle
+MrMongoose221 Right wing people scoff at leftists all the time. Accuse them of things, slander them, bad mouth them. Why single out leftists when right wing people are just as guilty. Bad behavior isn't just "the left", whoever that even is. The things that define left and right are actually on a short list. I don't think being conservative means not having good points about the countless, non political things in the world, but when it comes to things like the economy, and political policies, that's when most of the good ideas stop. I've seen so many pro capitalist conservatives absolutely do look down their noses at disabled people for example, people who either can't work or are very limited with the kind of work they can do. That such people are "economic burdens". Where I live support is put on the chopping block constantly by conservatives, and they want to privatize healthcare and education. Why is that? It doesn't matter whether it's hate based or simply through apathy and indifference, is a bad thing either way.
+Mc Panik Sure you are, is that why many conservatives attack anyone who disagrees with capitalism? Accusing them of being Stalin supporting extremists just for having a problem with the current system. Or accusing people who support the refugee act as being "pro Islam" and condoning terrorism? Where I live there have been peaceful socialist protests year after year for decades, and yet conservatives here respond in a pompous, patronizing and dismissive way, or sometimes just ignore them. If conservatives are all about conversation and engaging, then why don't they listen to people who aren't being hostile? All you need to do is say you're anti capitalist and that's enough to be attacked or taken out of context. So this whole thing is really a false narrative.
If you ask me it's a great thing. I hope the left doubles down on their idiocy and prejudice. It will simply mean they will continue to be irrelevant from now on. Right-wing populism is gaining traction, it's something that cannot be denied anymore. It's time for the conservative men and women to take back their country!
Marcus Aurelius Severus Antoninus Augustus I'm more centre. I don't believe either side should have too much power, or they slip into authoritarianism.
I am glad that Trump is willing the question the extent that carbon has in so called man made global warming. Examining the science on both sides tells me that man's roll is minimal.
I stopped identifying with the left when I heard logical arguments that easily debunked things I'd previously held to be sacred. It takes time and endurance to push through the cognitive dissonance and force yourself to grow. The best thing about this election is that it simultaneously proved the existence of a suppressed silent majority AND demonstrated how utterly redundant the mainstream media has become. Not only did they fail to rig the election for Hillary, they accidentally handed it to Trump.
His stance on gay rights? That may be something he's personally not bigoted about, although I wouldn't bet on it, but his running mate, and his party platform, is about as homophobic as possible. I see mass marriage anulments and gay people who are now out and identified being compulsorily discharged from the military...
J J Haycock Blue Barbe a lot of projection going on and sadly no introspection. The right wing is guilty of lack of nuance and also quick to label entire groups of people one way or the other without actually engaging with them, they have done so with groups like BLM or the refugees. The right is also quick to be sensationalize and be outraged by non issues such as star bucks cups and people saying "happy holiday" instead of "merry Christmas". All I'm saying is that both sides have flaws and this holier than thou attitude doesn't get us anywhere.
@@mactek6033 Watch the video again. Trump is a symptom and the Left is the disease. You can blame Democrats 100%! - Trump himself may be vile, nasty and mean but, Democrat voters as a people are far worse and Trump is my reaction to their cult. It's not Trumps supporters burning, and looting Democrat cities in the name of a career criminal. We want law, order and above all justice and Trump did that on day one.
Mac Tek this melt down is the Democrats. Who wanted to lock down their states? Who tribes in the voting booth by diff demographics having a victim mentality. You’re not watching trumps America, you’re watching the melt down of the Democratic Party and attempt to completely change and reshape America
I'm a liberal and a reluctant Trump supporter. This video hits the nail on the head. I recognized that the political left no longer represents true liberal values a LONG time ago. Hopefully more people wake up and we don't have a ridiculous fucking situation like this again in four years. Some ~330 million people in the US. Trump and Hillary were the best we could come up with. Fuck me.
The DNC wanted Trump. If you read the wikileak emails, they actually propped him up via the media. They figured that HRC's best chance was to beat one of the loons of the GOP, like Trump, in the general.
As a Conservative/economic centre right, I support this message. When will both sides realise that: GOOD OPPOSITION LEADS TO GOOD LEADERSHIP. WE NEED THE LEFT TO BE STRONG AND THE RIGHT TO BE STRONG
The best solutions come from center-right and center-left hashing things out and making compromises as they look for "I win/you win" solutions. When extremists on either side get too much power it becomes more of a zero sum game - "I win/you lose." Even more important though is getting the excessive influence of big money out of our politics since that leads to "the powerful few win/the rest of us lose."
@Dawson Davis I will have to respectfuly say, it wouldnt be enough, even with multiple parties, only 2 are ever really competing in a election, at least from the experience i have.
Who the fuck is this guy and why haven't I heard of him before. I thought I was the only liberal that felt this way. Trump didn't win my vote, the left lost mine. And by the looks of it, my vote wasn't the only one they lost. For the first time in my life as a liberal, I feel like my side no longer has the moral high ground. We fought for so long to become the majority and once we did, we went and did the same shit that we accused the right of doing. We demonized, lied, bullied, and belittled the other side because we could, and because it was our turn to dish out the pain. We became the left's moral majority, the left's religious right, the left's tea party. In short we became hypocrites.
Don't get me wrong, just because the the left was wrong sure as Hell doesn't make you guys right. My complaint is that we started acting too much like nutty republicans. We demonized and divided people. We judged people by the color of their skin and what was between their legs instead of their actions and the content of their character.
To be fair, I don't think the nutjobs on social media crying about trigger warnings represent "the left" in government. There are extremes on both sides.
+JDiculous Yet groups like BLM and feminazis like Lena Dunham, Anita Sarkeesian, Laci Greene and Francesca Ramsey are given public platforms within mainstream media to spew their hateful, pseudo social science, gender studies rhetoric as if it is fact. And why is it that it has seeped into our most prestigious Academic institutions and imposed limits on freedom of speech? Even our talk show hosts had no problem calling people sexist for not supporting Hillary or racist for wanting something done about illegal immigration. CNN and BBC had no problem bringing racism, sexism and 'islamophobia' into the discussion at every opportunity with few representatives of opposing views that made sense. Canada will be passing a law soon making it illegal to misgender someone even if it's unintentional, British police investigating a guy for 'anti Muslim tweets', German police arresting a man for wearing a pig hat at a protest because it may be offensive to Muslims. Mandatory consent classes for male students on some university campuses, Campus staff being fired because they suggested that students can wear whatever costume they want on Halloween... Whether you like it or not this is the mainstream left now and this is why America has a living meme for president.
As a conservative who is both a New Yorker and a racial minority, let me just say that I perfectly understand the solitude and fear of voicing my contrary opinion, no matter how politely. It is insane and I hope that if there is another loss for my liberal friends, they will not double-down but, for once, finally open their eyes.
It depends on how extreme your opinion is. In general, both sides are kind of scared to voice options, because they don't want to destroy relationships. But if you are more and more extreme, less people will listen to you and you will listen less.
I feel you, man. Been there, almost did that. And since the DNC hasn't changed in any meaningful way, I might have to do that. Why can't normal people run for office again?
I know this is late, but I just found this through Reddit. While I agree that a true friend will remain a friend even when their political beliefs are opposite, should you give up on someone because they oppose your ideals? I understand that there are some that will never listen and that you should only go so far before it is confirmed that they will not listen, but I don't think giving up on someone should be an easy thing to do. I am a conservative who is willing to make Liberal, not Leftist, compromises for the betterment of my country. Many of my friends are Liberal and oppose about half, if not more, of my political beliefs. They are, however, like family to me. I would do anything for them and they would do anything for me. Walking away from a stranger who will berate you and ignore any intelligent or wise arguement is acceptable. People like that are enemies of everyone and like it that way, but if you have a friend, someone you care for deeply, then walking away from them shouldn't be an option at hand. It is more likely that they will give up on the friendship. A civilized society should maintain peaceful in the presence of opposed stances, whether they be political, moral, religious, or an ideology of any kind. If we cannot do that, then we are no better than the intolerant generations before us. We have the capacity to offer wise council and kind tidings. I applaud your positive feedback to someone who feels as if they cannot be themselves, even to those they care for deeply.
This is exactly what happened the other day! I knew exactly when Biden said the garbage comment, that was going to be this years “deplorable” and that may or may not have backfired

True. Though Harris is an improvement over Hillary, imho.
I guess I would be slightly leftist & definitely agree. This Guy says what we all think, this guy should be put in front of a politician, any politician, for a debate...now he would make politics interesting
As a Trump supporter if Liberals were like this I would not have a problem with them. In the past year not ONE liberal has talked to me in a civilized way to DISCUSS why their choice of Hillary was better than Trump. So we elected Trump.
You miss the point if you're throwing labels around, likening all lefties to SJW idiots is akin to likening right wingers to racists, come on now, you're smarter than that.
Correct, the only argument I ever heard are: "are you kidding me? hes a racist and sexist!" Without naming any evidence except some insults to individual women (he also insulted men, so does he hate men?)
Haven't heard any real arguments from either side to be honest. Nobody was talking about any issues and all the focus was one the two candidates personal lives and attitudes, like they matter at all. A president should promote the views of his party. Nothing more. A president's opinions may conflict with his party's views, but that shouldn't stop him from promoting these views. So please stop focusing on the person himself, because unless he's a dictator and goes against his own party, he doesn't run the country all by himself.
I'm not a liberal, pr. see, as I am a social democrat in a country where that term means something completely different. But I do belong to the left, and where I come from Hillary Clinton and the democratic party is anything but a left wing party. Because when it comes down to it, left wing policies are mainly about economy and social security. I also live in a country where it's common for people to have friends across the political spectrum, where insults such as racist, sexist, sjw and libtard is rather uncommon. And I'm not surprised at all that a demography where sallaries has been stagnant for 20 years under numerous democratic presidents, where the cost of health care has grown insanely high, where people struggle to keep their house and food on the table might not bother to trust yet another candidate endorsed by the very people skimming the cream of their hard labour, while at the same time having to watch their jobs be moved overseas. Especially not when the educated and well payed young people, the very people who actually benefit from capitalism is opposing it while shitting all over the same people who are victimised by it. Not at all. So Devon Ziegler... Here I am, a social democrat, a person who you might see as a communist from your perspective, and I stand in solidarity with you. If I lived in the US, having to work my ass off for 12 hours a day in order to survive, I would have probably voted for Trump as well. Hillary wouldn't have changed much, but neiher will Trump. You had a shot this election, I honestly do believe that Sanders could have made a difference. In addition, he also pointed out that he WOULDN'T be able to perform miracles, and that he needed the support of both the house and senate in order to make any changes. He didn't promise much, because he knew the limitations that are in place, but what he did promise he would have fought for. The working class used to be the backbone of the democratic party, now they have rebelled as the democratic party has failed them. Trump won't change that. Your enemy isn't blacks, hispanics, illegal immigrants or among those lines. Your enemy is the very corporations who is reaping the benefits of your hard labour. The ones that get rich on your backs, the ones that exploits your labour, and whom increasingly has figured out that they can earn even more by exploiting people in third world countries for even less money. I stand in solidarity with the american, hard working people. I think it is about time that your labour is valued for what it is. I think it is about time that you can live comfortable lives without having to worry about forclosure, health care bills or the education of your children. About time you don't have to worry about your future. Greetings from Norway, and from a libtard that was not with her.
Asteroid/Earth 2016 I've lost a 6 years old friendship because I said to a friend that I supported Trump, American friends were fucking afraid to loose their jobs or social life or their places in university if they admitted that they would vote for Trump. Their was simply no dialogue possible the left was simply a huge bully who silenced any other views and opinions with -ist and other -phobic and whine enough to literally kill somone life/income/future if they dared to not follow the mass like a brainless sheep. I'm fucking GLAD that America got redpilled and slapped the regressive left with a wake up call.
Any person should've voted for Trump, whether on the right or the left. The left might find him distasteful, yes, but I'm sure the vast majority of leftists have a strong preference for not being vaporized in a radioactive fireball. Hillary's game of nuclear chicken with Russia may have amused her bloodthirsty sensibilities but was terrifying for everyone else. The only reason the left still voted for Hillary despite the fact that vote goes against their interests (you know, the interest in *being alive* and all) is they were deceived by the media and convinced that, somehow, Donald Trump, the man who wants to restore relations with Russia, was the dangerous one.
Sherringford He didn't say Trump was the best candidate, he said that the left gave their soul and made sure Hillary would win! If they didn't get involved then Jill stein or even Bernie could've beaten Trump.
A lot of the forums I'm on have doubled down on the insults. I think they secretly like having Trump in control so they can indulge their arrogance and conceit by putting on how much more intellectual and "enlightened" they are. Funny thing is, none of them have come up with a realistic alternative to Trump. Basically, a bunch of pretentious pricks jacking each other off about how America should be like a pseudo socialist European paradise country that doesn't actually exist in real life. A magical place where everybody thinks just like them. Unfortunately for them, in reality, people have different opinions on how things should be.
You would be surprised if you looked a little bit harder, there are a lot of liberals out there who absolutely despise the social justice warriors and the Neoliberals (*coughlikemecough*). Many of them are also more libertarian (not the movement, more in the political compass context) leaning with beliefs grounded in social democracy and democratic socialism.
JTR, most of them as you have said identify more as libertarians than liberals, which might explain why we agree so much in that particular department.
20+ in fact. Both sides simply refuse to come to the table anymore. They both say 'sure, we can talk.' And it always ends up being the same thing; 'we can talk' translates directly to 'you have to do it my way.'
ahhahahahahahahah. 'The right has always been willing to talk.' Oh, wait, you're serious. Here, let me laugh even harder. HAHAHAHAHHAHAHAHAHA. Kind of like how they 'talked' about the ACA? Or how they're very willing to 'talk' about taxes? Perhaps their willingness to 'talk' about the environment? Or is there some other 'talk' I missed?
People tend to stay away from discussion because that actually requires being educated and informed on the matter, I'm not saying all people are like this, but for most it's easier to just call someone a name and label them with one of the many -isms.
People stay away from discussion because they're afraid of being called out. There is nothing wrong in an uneducated opinion as long as you can tell how you got to your conclusion. Enter discussion with an open mind and be prepared to be confronted on your beliefs. The more you know, the more you don't know. Mutual trust and respect is key to have any informed discussion take place. Dive in and see where it takes you. Name-calling and labeling is the last thing you want to do if you want to try and persuade someone to change their mind. It's easy and quick to resort to it in frustration and takes some practice but we'll all be forever learning here! Love conquers all. Forgiveness is all it takes to break the vicious cycle.
It's also frustratingly hard to debate someone that is brainwashed. If you believe the stories in the bible are true, or that Obama is a left wing liberal, then I basically have no chance to reform your beliefs on either matter. Facts don't get into bubbles that challenge your long held world views, they just bounce off.
+MimimMats Are you twisting his words? I'll simplify it for you. The original post said "People tend to stay away from discussion because..." and listed one reason. Then +john handcock provided another reason why people tend to stay away from discussion. That fits in just fine. I hope you're not jumping to the conclusion that john was making a poor justification just because you saw it as an opportunity to insult a liberal. Surely you are above such pettiness.
john handcock Absolutely true, but that is a human trait, not a leftist-exclusive one. Not saying that excuses leftists, it doesn't but there's plenty of right-wing dogma too.
I am a Trump supporter and I respect everything this man has said. I may not agree with his views on Trump, but that doesn't mean hes evil or a bad person. Subscribed :)

Nearly 2019 and the extremelly political correctness has gone too far. Is not only that the far left (and the far right to be honest) hasn't learnt a shit from the mistakes, but instead, they made twice or more mistakes beeing ofended for everything and not beeing able to debate and discuss...
Holy shit. You nailed it, you get it! Every piece of Trump's success I try to articulate, you did it all in one go instead of pieces. Another piece is conservative Americans/Republican voters have been slapped in the face for years by their embarrassing candidates who pander to the wrong crowd. The religious right every time, most conservative Americans didn't give two shits about gay marriage, but every election cycle that was the big issue. Gays and abortion were the GOP issues every time. Even if Republican voters didn't like it, few were actively fighting those things. The rest of us just didn't give a shit. Trump was their knight in shining golden armor, who destroyed the GOP and he said things that weren't gay marriage and abortion. Republican voters own party wouldn't even give them a voice or listen. Will Trump? Who the knows, but it's the best chance the silenced, overly mocked, conservatives had in decades.
The republican party went so far as to try, at every turn, to shutdown the voice of the republican voters once it grew finally grew legs. They went so far as to support the candidate of THE OTHER PARTY.
You started to get it there...but then reverted to kind. That's alright, the healing process takes time and you've got 4 years of Trump to stop looking down your nose at Christians.
Stuart JSA yet the libtards continue to believe that calling everyone in America sexist, racist, islamophobic, homophobic white supremacists. Thy honestly believe that they will shame people into voting liberal, by alienating a good majority of your average American voters they believe they can win.
Bill Gultch just like calling them libtards will encourage debate. while I admire this man's selfdeprication its not as if the right was willing to engage in any kind of constructive debate. remember it takes two to get in to a fight.
Sam Ancer I wouldn't agree with that, neither side is a monolith and there are people on both sides willing to debate. I really think this is representative of how the left has acted during this campaign but at times is has been better than it is now.
I agree that the fault is on people who refuse to engage in debate. I was pointing out that it occurs on both sides, I did not say that there were not liberals at fault, I was merely pointing out that calling someone a libtard (which is seems more unjustified for having a leftwing view than saying people who support someone who promised racist policies racist) is just if not more so problematic to engaging a serious debate on issues than calling someone a racist. I just found it ironic he was complaining about people labelling him and then just used a massively derogatory label himself
Sam Ancer Hmmm I guess I did just make a pretty blatant "not all argument there", but your correct its people on both sides. However I really disagree that calling some one a libtard is even in the same boat as calling some one a racist. I have never heard of some one getting fired for being accused of being a libtard but I have heard of people getting fired for being accused of being a racist.

The thing is, you can't debate someone in the classic sense (putting forth arguments and responding with the intent to arrive at truth) when they will accept nothing less than a shoutdown to utter concession. It long ago abandoned even the pretense of being a search for truth and became a gladiatorial match to the death.

In Seattle, when "liberals" set fires and destroy businesses is is 'free speech.'
But if you insult Grunge you are a racist corporatist extreme right winger.
Different kinds of folks and they will drift apart even further in the future.

They may be on opposite sides of the the ideological fence, but they share the same passion for open and honest debate. This is one of the best rants I've heard in a long time, although I count myself in Milo's camp, ideologically speaking.
Tj Weger I agree 💯 with what you said.
Debate. Persuasion. Compromise. These things require you to engage and comprehend the positions and views of others.

I am a man and I understand your argument but I think I also understand what Winteris Coming (great name btw - just a few more days till Game of Thrones airs its 7th season):
Here's the thing (the way I see it): Women have always had the ability to lead a country but in order for a woman to be elected she needs men to vote for her too.
Good to hear from another woman that it's not okay to try and say just because you have a vagina you are instantly good for a job.

I'm a Trump supporter, and whenever someone brings an intelligent argument to the table like this; I listen and I respect it. This is what we've been seeking all along while getting shut down by marxist buzzwords and fear of unemployment for raising our concerns..
It's not the early 1900's anymore, the shit that has been going on won't fly anymore.
I've never subscribed so quickly in my entire life

@Max Smith To be honest I think the polls being "wrong" is on purpose.
You don't think Sanders is too far left for the US? He certainly would have been more forceful and a better debater than Biden.
They haven't learned a fucking thing.
People have told pollsters that the reason they will vote for Biden is because 'He is not Donald Trump'. What does that tell us? Biden is another ineffective soft soap Democrat, and perhaps an even worst one than Hilary Clinton. I live in New Zealand (sad to say we now have 24 COVID deaths, but Trump still thinks the USA is doing a better job than we are) but if I was an American, I would vote for Biden but feel sad about it. I would definitely have voted for Bernie Sanders, and hoped for a miracle. Mean while, deep thinkers like@RapidFireReaper will apparently vote for Trump so they can own a bunch of automatic weapons, and fuck the important stuff.

When insults take the place of debates is when a debate becomes an argument where one side is trying to defend itself from others. Feel free to share all of your opinions, please.
@@robert-joshuamcfaddin7041 That's not true any more, though. I'm with him, I'm scared to articulate any opinion that differs from the accepted norm. Because people can ruin your livelihood and your social credibility. People receive death threats and get fired for saying the politically incorrect thing. Not even extreme stuff like actual racism or homophobia, either - JK Rowling will probably never get another book deal, because she argued on Twitter about how the term "woman" should be used.
@@boiledelephant While that is what we're facing in this world, people still maintain the power to keep that from happening. The last time it was a social norm to not speak out, we faced the Holocaust. And I fear we're heading back into a situation like that

Wow, as a conservative, it's a breath of fresh air to listen to him. As a 25 year old, this is the first liberal I've ever heard argue like an adult and argue philosophically. Usually they just insult us and and freak out (and then call us the bigots, ironically). I am glad to see there is at least one grownup liberal out there. Holy smokes!
Not all Leftists are Liberals... Some of us hate the PC Police just as much as everyone else.
as a liberal that hated Hillary there are a lot more of us.
Totally nailed it!

This is pure GOLD. I've said that many many times to my friends, but it's not like anyone would listen.

So glad I watched this. Really needed to change my views about why Trump won. If you're reading this, thanks Mr.Pie. I appreciate it.
Where I live right wingers cut support for disabled people, and attack people who criticize capitalism.
This video will ALWAYS be relevant, _regardless_ of Biden's victory.
I'd say that it has become MORE relevant, ESPECIALLY because of Biden's victory
Again, in 2020, Trump's perceived image made it feel like he should have been beaten black and purple at the vote.
*AT LEAST HE IS NOT TRUMP*
Sorry gents and ladies, as Mr. Price rightfully said, that is not enough. Choosing a dubious political candidate because "hey, at least he's not *that other guy* y'know" does very little to improve the situation.

Spot on. Political discussion has gone done the fucking toilet in recent years and people's sense of self righteousness has got to bloody stop.
Jeopardy Leyton I think you are on to something there
The New Knights Code yeah political debate has gone. People in the comments just constantly labeling people rather than discussing any issues.
Definitely. People should be inviting their opposition to challenge them not trying to shame them into silence, and those that are silent to stop the fear of being shamed. There is no shame in trying to have a reasonable debate.

This video is 100% correct.
You mean other than labelingTrump racist, mysogynist, and/or a denier?

MrMongoose221 that's because you're a classical liberal ...keep engaging conservatives you'll be surprised how kind and generous we are .
At least some people are FINALLY fucking getting what's going on. A shame most still won't listen.
Marcus Aurelius Severus Antoninus Augustus
I'm more centre. I don't believe either side should have too much power, or they slip into authoritarianism.
I am glad that Trump is willing the question the extent that carbon has in so called man made global warming. Examining the science on both sides tells me that man's roll is minimal.
@@LINER011 We're trending hot house and you want to quibble over percentages of contribution to it?!?
I left the left for precisely the reasons you outline. When they abandoned secular liberalism, I could not longer be a supporter.
J J Haycock Ok . Well,. the door is just there. ....On the erm.....left....
a fucking men , only difference between me and you is I did not leave the left the left left me
I stopped identifying with the left when I heard logical arguments that easily debunked things I'd previously held to be sacred.
2024. Im back here 7 years later. How is this still spot on for the SECOND TIME
Who’s watching this in 2020, thinking the same thing.
Me. There's really nothing to do. Either watch this or watch the world burn outside my window that Trump caused.
@@mactek6033 Watch the video again. Trump is a symptom and the Left is the disease. You can blame Democrats 100%!

Trump himself may be vile, nasty and mean but, Democrat voters as a people are far worse and Trump is my reaction to their cult.
We haven't learned a damn thing. Detroit here, and now even people I know who voted Clinton in 2016 are voting for Trump in November. :(
Mac Tek bah it’s caused from Democrats melting down since he got elected.
I have proof what proof do you have?
I'm a liberal and a reluctant Trump supporter. This video hits the nail on the head. I recognized that the political left no longer represents true liberal values a LONG time ago. Hopefully more people wake up and we don't have a ridiculous fucking situation like this again in four years.
Some ~330 million people in the US. Trump and Hillary were the best we could come up with. Fuck me.
They weren't the best we could come up with. They were the best of those the elite allowed to progress.
The elites wanted Cruz, not Trump. His party was against him to the end.
We are going to rebuild the DNC, and get a real progressive into the white house in 2020.
The DNC wanted Trump. If you read the wikileak emails, they actually propped him up via the media. They figured that HRC's best chance was to beat one of the loons of the GOP, like Trump, in the general.
Vegard, they wanted Bush. Cruz is too much of a nutjob.

7 years in the future and it still packs that same punch. “She’ll do” 🤢
Crazy what the DNC did to Tulsi too huh?
It was like watching the party choose a drunk prostitute over a decorated war veteran.
Theres also secular talk & dave rubin.
exactly, i'm ashamed to be part of left. just cuz people won't vote trump doesn't mean they'll vote hilary either.
You can hope...
Or you can be a realist...
If you are afraid to share your opinions with someone, you shouldn't call him a friend.
Love you marlon ❤
You could repeat this video word for word but change Hillary for Harris in this video and it would still be relevant today.
This is exactly what happened the other day! I knew exactly when Biden said the garbage comment, that was going to be this years “deplorable” and that may or may not have backfired
True. Though Harris is an improvement over Hillary, imho.
As someone who is on the right, he is spot on
You're on the right? YOU'RE A FREAK.
Ha ha
As a right wing person whou would vote for Trump. I approve of what he said. I do not like Trump, but he is the least worst option
Trump was a good candidate. Just look at his ethic plan, and fair trade.
I know. I still agree with him
wtf is an ethic plan?
Either way, he was not a good candidate. Also, Trump is already filling his cabinet with the same corporate tools too!

A lot of the forums I'm on have doubled down on the insults. It seems so.
There are two kinds of people; those of us who knew this was coming months in advance, and name-callers.
20+ in fact. Both sides simply refuse to come to the table anymore. They both say 'sure, we can talk.' And it always ends up being the same thing; 'we can talk' translates directly to 'you have to do it my way.'

They only thing that could be said after your comment is...Amen brother.

"Being offended doesn't work!" Well done Jonathan!
Will Trump? Who the knows, but it's the best chance the silenced, overly mocked, conservatives had in decades.
that's the power of being british
The evangelical voters have once again, or finally, exposed themselves for the flaming hypocrites they are by lining up behind Trump.
Silenced... overly mocked for decades? But they just had Bush in the White House for 8 years...
This is hands down my favorite Jonathon Pie video. Why? Because he's 1,000,000,000% Correct!

thank god somebody said it.
The great thing is Jon could essentially remake this video beat for beat with a few names and details changed and it would be just as relevant today.
