- My New 90G Seahorse Tank! Plus, Biota Captive-Bred Bonded Seahorses from LiveAquaria!
Hey Guys!
So I finally made the transfer of my 30G seahorse tank to my 90G and my ponies couldn't be happier!
The tank is much cleaner, more spacious, and the seahorses and so much more room to prance around in.
I also purchased a bonded pair of Biota Captive-Bred Erectus Seahorses from LiveAquaria. The are absolutely beautiful and a great addition to the family.
I hope you enjoy the video and thank you for watching!
Mindi

Count me as a new subscriber your five year old video really impressed me favorably. Thank you for what you have done to the seahorse hobby
You’re very welcome James! Thank you for the kind words! ❤
Do you still have the seahorses?
They are mesmerizing
Superb video again. This is one beautiful aquarium and the yellow seahorse 8:54 is stunning (of course all of your seahorses are beautiful)! Your mixture of zooxhantellate and azooxhantellate Gorgonias is excellent! I like the colors very much! I know it's a lot of work for you Mindi, but I am already looking forward for you next video :-)
ive allways kept tropical and marine fish. i bought 2 seahorses they bred and i made my own rearing tank for them this was 16 years ago, trial and error, they do look alittle thin,, inbetween their boney plates is alittle sunken this means they arnt feeding very well,,, when theyve eaten the plates will bulge out,,, i like to see them like that not sunken
I like how you have scaped the tank. Nice upgrades. The seahorses look very happy
Looks great. Not being rude just an observation but I would suggest feeding them a bit more. A few of them look to be a little on the thin side. They may be new additions to the tank and you may have said that and I didn’t catch it lol. From my experience, The more weight you can keep on them definitely increases their health and immune system. A larger mysis will really help. The Piscine Mysis are usually larger yet still soft enough for them to swallow until they get a little bigger. Other than that, beautiful Hippocampus erectus and tank set up. I’ve been keeping and breeding seahorse for over 20 years now and they are by far my favorite characters on our amazing planet.
totally agree, and i dont think u are being rude,,, it is a clear observation,,, they do look alittle under fed,,, i can see from their behaviour they are looking for food,,, its great having an imaculate tank but these creatures are very slow feeders,, i know i reared young,, you need to feed more often with large mysis shrimp. i used to hatch off my own brime feed it up enhance it then drain/rince and drop it in live they absolutely love it
Wow amazing looks great
Do you turn off the circulation during feeding time ? If not you might give it a try. I think it would help keep the food closer to the pipe outlet for a bit longer giving the horses a better chance to catch a few more bites.
Yes, water flow was always turned off during feeding. Thank you for your comment! 😊
Gotta love seahorses! I'd also love to have a freshwater pipefish tank someday.
Hi Mindi, how do you keep the sea horses? I heard they need to be constantly fed. Do you need special filtration?
Too cool, I always wanted to do a seahorse and garden eel tank. Your setup looks great. I was surprised to see a clown fish in the tank, I would have thought that they were way too aggressive eaters to be in that type of setup but only saw it once during the time you were feeding the seahorses. Where you feeding it on the other side of the tank so that it would not disturb the seahorses?
clowne fish shouldnt be kept with seahorses,,, they cannot compete for food , the tank should be seahorse only and breeding pairs need 6ft as they seperate then meet up again in the early morning and do their partnership dance ,,, tank looks imaculate but i dont think the seahorses are fed well, or are trying to find/compete for food which they can never do,
wow I miss the older inhabitants but love the seahorses. what is that big white gargonian?
Awesome!
Digging the wall turtle
I love the big white coral that you have in the tank!! What is the name of it?? Thank you:)
I see the youtube guys get together at RAP. They like to have fun with you calling you Miss.saltwater. Your the Princess of Saltwater. Great video. Excellent upgrade for the sea horses. Next time do live stream at RAP because know one knows how to do one.
Any updates on the seahorses?
What type of coral or macroalgae is that purple branching thing lol...could i put in a reef tank with high to moderate flow
It's very nice to see people show so much care to sea horses just like the rest of us with reef tanks. They are amazing and that's a very nice tank. Use to love breeding them. Ps your very nice looking to😆
Nice video and very nice tank and seahorses, but I think the vids would be better if you cut less during you talk
Can't see the seahorses your toches is in the way 😘
Sea horses are so cute. Could watch them for hours
I’m really trying to focus on the Seahorse tank I promise! 😅 HeHe
Live fish used to be excellent quality and better guarantee when it was owned by DR. Fosters and Smith until big box store acquired it.
I found this very surprising. I was trying to find good seahorse tanks and I thought this might just be another trendy extreme energy check out my animal video. But you’re super chill and actually knowledgeable. Definitely subbed.
Very delicate but beautiful animals if I was god and designing fish they would be the last I would come up with....good luck 🇬🇧❤️
We are not allowed in South Africa to keep them, but I'm planning a pipefish tank.
Damn❗️ you got moneyyyyyyy🤑
To think a crappy rap song can get a million views and there’s something amazing like this that gets fewer… hogwash I say
What brand tank are you using? I noticed you didn't share a link in the description to the tank and hardware
Yep, I saw no tank in this entire video.
Great tank, beautiful bird, and the nice guns,,lol
Just breath taking!!! Amazing tank!
Awesome 😍💕😱🐬
Gorgeous, the Seahorses too!🤙🏼
pokeyh1979 smooth...
Are seahorses susceptible to any diseases like ick??
Seahorses are extremely susceptible to bacterial infections.
Ajaxtrippy26 thx for the info
Oops missed the reference to pipefish. They are touchy also. More likely the crab was doing what it does. Scavenge. Pipefish was probably already dead. A few small clown gobies would also be nice for that tank. Though a seahorse only tank is pretty impressive.
Salt water fish are so bizarre..in a good way tho. What was that stick type thing swimming around?
Beautiful ponies! Good job Mindi!
When they start doing their "little dance", get ready for another full-time job (if you intend to raise the fry).
Are you running a UV sterilizer on that system? If I did it over again, I'd definitely run UV.
It is Awesome!
Congratulations on the Upgrade. The New Aquarium looks Awesomely Beautiful!
Thankyou for sharing! 👍
I love the new Seahorses.
I always wanted seahorses, but freshwater one's. Am not sure if they come in colours like the marine one's though. Maybe a little research and advice might help please. Do you require a license to keep freshwater seahorses ?
Any consideration to adding a few pipefish and a ruby red dragonet? You should also grow and raise copepods, amphipods and bribe shrimp and other plankton for maintenance. Tank is pretty cool. Did you get a nice home for those anglers?
Awesome vid. Love seahorses as well. I have myself a few as well. I’ll post when I can. Otherwise love the vids and the great job you’re going outta your way for showing on your progress in this hobby. Thank you beautiful for you doing what you 😍🌹🌹🌹🌹
Mindi, with all the tanks you have what is your maintenance schedule like each week? ie. Water changes etc.?
Verry verry beautiful Mindy! Loved this video. Awsome job !!
can you do a video on treating/preventing disease and your thoughts on quarantining
First time watching. Beautiful sea horses!
Nice upgrade for the seahorses. 👍
hey thank you show your tank DR.Mindi;s have a nice Day from me ok.
Sea horse piggy-back feeding is fascinating.
Mindi's Il faut l'es nourrir 5 a 6 fois pas jour sinon ils vont maigrir et mourir .
Nice Pony tank!!!
is that a Marco manufactured tank?
Great content!!
Your fish tank is amazing
I enjoyed that outfit
Beautiful tank
You are jacked
nice parrot
Thanks!
They have freshwater sea horses?
Kaltrina No its a myth
Yes there's both freshwater + salt water seahorses. I've been trying to get freshwater one's but it's very difficult in South Africa. I think you require a license to keep them
Wow so amazing thank you
My pleasure 😊
Cool to see someone who’s into fitness and saltwater tanks same as me. My wife really enjoys sea horses I’m thinking of converting my bedroom tank into one
