My brother had cancer and got the chance to meet him. He brought my brother all sorts of memorabilia and sat and chatted to him for a few hours, playing TV games with him, playing guitar, even reading Beano comics. All in the comfort of my own home. My brother passed away 3 weeks later and was in his M.M t-shirt when he passed. Thanks M.M.

It's actually funny the amount of people who don't believe in God but still manage to blame him for everything considering Man fucks up by himself without any Divine intervention. Yet when something good happens they think it is about themselves. Ego is what's wrong with people, not Marilyn Manson or God, people are idiots. That goes for all of us. Religion is stupid but God is not. Two different things altogether.

I'm too old and cynical to be a "spooky kid" but the crap MM has gotten is unjustified. He's an entertainer, not a moral compass and from watching Bowling for Columbine he was the most intelligent and enlightened person in it..... And that's the kicker........

    • @UnclePogo513
      @UnclePogo513 8 ปีที่แล้ว +12

+Steven Stratton I am a spooky kid from way back. They say Columbine destroyed his carer, due to the amount of direct blame put on him. He was not the only one blamed but he was the most well known. I was an openly big fan of his, and full goth when Columbine happened. I wore a trench coat and got quite a bit of direct heat myself, I can only imagine what it was like for him.

I just watched his interview with Bill O'Reilly, and Bill O'Reilly said something fascinating, 'this time in history is the worst time for negative influences on children', he said this, without realizing just how disposable some kids truly are to the system.
the negative influences kids have, are being treated like outcast by teachers, peers, pastors, parents, etc. I had no positive relationships growing up, I was treated like 'why don't you go away and wither already?
you're already a failure. feel suicidal? we'll institutionalize you, and court order you to take faulty drugs.'
the system is fucked, and someone needs to highlight the lows of humanity.

worth noting that the main reason he got most of the heat was due to a song of his called lunchbox which, when read out of context, sounds very much like a song that would drive someone to shoot up classmates. such lines include "got my lunchbox and i'm armed real well" (implying there's a gun inside), "next motherfucker gonna get my metal", and "pow! pow! pow!". but ironically, the context of the song is somewhat anti-violence. he wrote it at a time when schools were banning metal lunchboxes because kids were using them as weapons in fights. the song was a commentary on the violent nature of adolescent children as well as the overall violent nature of american culture. as a counterpoint, the song also goes on to say that you can either use your anger to destroy things or utilize it to try and become a fucking rockstar like him one day.
another unfortunate irony is that the song samples the song _fire_ by arthur brown, which was playing in brenton tarrant's car after he'd just shot up a mosque in new zealand.

Man oh man Manson. I grew up in church and was a teen in the late 90's early 2000's. I was a fan because the music was heavy and rebellious, but coming from the church background I remember Manson was coming to down and the pastor had a meeting with the you of the church. He went on this awesome speech about Manson and his imagery and influence over young people. He said we should avoid the streets that night as alot of psychos would be about for attending the concert. People were so afraid of the myth of Manson, you just had to be there to have felt it.

People like me who were born later dont get to experience the same things that people born earlier do. @@pidgeshroom i think the two sides in this debate are kind of both right. moore specifically says "If you were to talk directly to the kids at Columbine and the people in that community", so he absolutely unequivocally is not referring to eric and dylan alone if he is referring to them at all, and i dont think he (moore) would group eric and dylan and their victims together, or refer to eric and dylan as "the kids at columbine", so i really dont think he is referring to them at all. however, i do think manson misinterpreted the question as referring to eric and dylan, since his response doesnt make any sense otherwise as welcome to trench rightly says. and i guess moore just left it in the movie because hes a hack filmmaker who likes sensationalist content even if it makes no sense
its a dumb response from manson anyway (whos usually very sharp). eric and dylan were both in therapy for years. to say "no one listened" about dylan is just misguided; dylan was a clearly depressed and very sad young guy who i do genuinely feel for to some extent but his parents were fruity hippies who im sure would have been more than happy to listen to his problems, as would the minister at the church they attended, or even some of the teachers who he would go on to murder (or attempt to). i understand that one of the symptoms of depression is to not reach out to other people with your problems, but the point remains.
on the other hand, to say "no one listened" about eric is absolutely proposterous. he was a calculating, manipulative, deceitful sociopath, a pathological liar and a thug who never demonstrated the slightest interest in being listened to (he only went to therapy under court order). and had a dad who was so invested in listening to his son's problems he kept a fucking journal about it (which later turned out to just be a journal about erics systematic deception and lying). i admit that at the time manson probably did not have the same access to the same amount of material as ive used to come to my own conclusions in 2019, but still
tl;dr: moore meant the victims, manson thought he meant eric & dylan, moore kept it in the movie anyway, eric & dylan are scumbags

@@jemimallah2591 Please dont talk about Eric Harris as if you know anything about him personally. You talk about Dylan like he's this sad little soul who could've been saved most likely or isn't as bad. that just shows you feed off this "Dylan follower Eric leader' thing, which is ridiculous. Please research a little. What teen doesn't lie by the way? To their parents? I don't know why you include that like it's some evidence he's worse than Dylan or by any means a 'psychopath' why don't you read his journal entries, all of them, and all of Dylans, research how they acted during the shooting, then come back and try to say Eric was any worse than Dylan. No. they fed off of eachother for one thing, And the madness brewed between them. It was a shared madness, and neither of them would've been able to pull such a thing off without the other. Misinformed people are out there, but it makes me so mad when people try to pin almost the entire thing on Eric or at like he was any more 'psycho' then Dylan, when no, he had the same mental issues. Cassie bernall, a victim, had wrote in her journal when she was younger about murdering her parents, brutally, and drew pictures. Difference is, she received help. She was saved from becoming mentally disturbed. (My point being, all it might have taken might've been finding Erics journal to stop this whole thing, having violent thoughts does not = automatic psycho) They were not, and they took her life that day. RIP Cassie. Unfortunately nobody found eric harris and dylan klebolds personal writings until it was too late. There's the forefront 13 victims of the shooting. And then there's the two victims of society really. Or maybe, victims of getting a shitty card dealt to them in life, and not ever having the skills to handle it in a healthy way. I don't think of them in a good way, but I sure do feel bad for them. I can't imagine ever hating myself enough, that I had that much rage.

i find it funny how this guy gets so much shit for being "weird and creepy", when those same people, that negatively critique him, adore singers such as Lady Gaga, Nicki Minaj, etc who are much more bizarre, creepy, and strange. i also find it funny how a lot of popular country songs can contain more stuff about sex, drugs, and negative shit than marilyn manson's songs, yet he gets judged more negatively... :| what kind of upside-down world is this?

I am a Christian and I like a few of Marilyn Manson's songs. I think that some of his music is very well written and has a good message, but as a Christian I know that I have to draw the line. Even if I think a song with an anti-Christian message is catchy, I have to make myself not want to hear it. It's hard sometimes, but God is more important to me than hearing a song that sounds cool. I'm only 14 and I know when it's time to say no.

I don't like him all that much, I just find some of music extremely relatable. Like "The Beautiful People". That's pretty much sums society up. I actually had to do a project on him at one point telling why people don't like him. It really opened my eyes to him a lot more

    • @LibadNobody

I'm the same way with Manson, I'm christian, but I think Manson is phenomenal, he's so unique and very respectful. Watch his interview on moms against Manson. He also said that he likes the bible, he just hates how religion misuses it. I draw the line with some of his songs too, songs like antichrist superstar, etc.. I only listen to 'the fight song' because the guitar is epic (if someone could find me an instrumental version, i'd be really happy)
