Everything about this is moving and inspiring to me. The playing, the piece and the story you wrote to go with it, the video, the audio, and of course those gut strings :) Bravo, Xavi!
Thank you! Sor is the most underrated composer of all. It's just because he specialized in guitar (although he played piano just as well and he composed for orchestra and vocalists, too). He belongs next to Chopin. Thanks again for some new Sor.
Amazing experience! I watched the video. It HHAD to be AGAIN because I had already given it a Like and I had Subscribed! But, as I watched it, I had ABSOLUTELY no memory of ever having heard this music or seen any of this video. Nothing! I had never heard that extended harmonics section (I thought I had written the longest melodic harmonics section! Wrong! Fernando did it centuries ago!). He does other harmonics close to the bridge sonic tricks that I had never heard before. I have no memory of having ever seen some of the guitar moves .Totally original guitar techniques! But, the kicker is the guitar itself. I have absolutely NO memory whatsoever of ever having seen a film of a guitar with that gut strings headstock with abrasion tuners. It's amazing you can play so in tune with those cranky tuners. I even remember leaving the message about how Sor is underrated. Maybe I just wrote that message because of my feelings about Sor and then something distracted me and I went to that without ever watching the video. I'm glad I saw it this time. Excellent video! Thank you!
Wow! What great playing as always Xavier…what a treat and a gift on the first day of 2024. May it be a good year for you. Kristiina from Australia… hope to see you play in May…
beautifully played. this piece drove me and my teacher to frustration playing on a contemporary classical guitar, you play it so effortlessly. amazing!
Thx, although I think that he did have some talent. He invented a new way of writing for guitar, and some of his pieces aren't minor, like op9, op30 or op52, don't you think? Not to mention the studies, which for me are a great combination of composition and pedagogy. Little jewels 🙂
Best Sor video on TH-cam. That's it.

Wonderfulllllll. We missed you....
Je suis époustouflé...merci infiniement pour cette beauté insoupçonnée venant d'un compositeur que l'on croyait connaître, voire comprendre...

Qué bonita suena la guitarra!! Gracias por haber vuelto a tocarla!!
Bravo! You managed to give some dignity even to a minor composer without great talent like Fernando Sor.
uh, okay man.
