Just a throwback to your video of the Starlink data caps. Having checked the info on my account ( I’m in Ireland) it states the “priority” accounts in the US and Canada plus Maritime will be affected in December. There is no mention of Ireland/UK or eu , can you confirm this?, enjoying the videos over here, cheers.

Uk Starlink user here... thanks for this. Our house is on general power backup from Tesla Powerwalls and gateway 2.
But brownouts do affect us before the Gateway disconnects from the Grid sometimes. Our 1 Gbps fibre Mesh 6E Routers are on a surge protected APC UPS device... but not Starlink.
I've just ordered another APC UPS for the Starlink modem and the Mesh 6 router connected to it.
    Cheers 🍻

If I remember correctly the word was that they intentionally left buttons and such off of the version 2 to help speed up getting dishes manufactured because of material shortages at the time. Things like the reset button, and the Ethernet port were left off.

This evaluation should be helpful to many folks. You are criticizing Starlink for the difference between routers which may or may not be justified. However, remember that engineers and programmers must submit their projects to a design review by marketing, production, and peers before they are released to the public. I'm sure they considered the nuances and like you say "why" should be considered and simply explaining the differences is better than criticizing. It is always easy to criticize :-)

🌈🦄 Saved the battery backup link from a previous video. I’m assuming the split ( 2.5 & 5 ) works only for Wi-Fi. I’m connected with Ethernet cable. Do you know if that’s a slower speed or what not than the Wi-Fi ones?

The sad thing about STARLINK useing the STUPID power down 3 times in quick succession to reset the unit back to the factory setting rather that using a hardware button is that some software engineer had to come up with that STUPID idea, and worse than that some other software engineer over the first one had to APPROVE IT.
Like you I have my Starlink system and all of my computers and routers on their own USP's and I have 16KW WHOLE HOUSE GENARATOR that starts it's self and switches over in about 1.5 minutes so the UPS's only have to keep everything running for that 1.5 minutes so so far durring power outages I have not had a loss of internet or a reboot of the Starlink, routers or computers.

@@jcristina Joseph, we love having the whole house generator, I grew up in Manatee County Florida and we lost power due to a couple of the Huracaines that we had in 2005. We had a 6KW roll around genarator that we used for critical loads but my wife could not set it up or start it so we decided that we needed a whole house version.
We bought it at The Home Depot and my wife and I instaled it and that was the end of our power outages due to grid outages. We have since moved to Tennessee and we instaled one here and we love it. It provides for all of our critical loads. We are fortunate that we could do the instaltions ourselves.
