    It’s really nice of you to help people get more fish. Some people don’t want to share there set ups which is fine, but it’s cool of you to tell us. I really listened close to the instructions and why you do the things you do to keep more fish.

      Elsa, Thank you so much for your comment!!!!!!!!! I have always liked to share info. That is how I learned, because someone took the time to share info. with me. It would be selfish of me not to share, and I enjoy watching other fisher People do well!!!!!!!!!!

      Hey Lora, thank you so much for the awesome compliment!!! I am so glad that you found the video helpful! So as for Outdoor pro shop, some of their in house inventory may not show up on their website, at least that's what I have come across, but they do carry the hook sleeves. Actually I just bought a package of them about a week ago. Thank you so much again for watching one of my videos, and if you any questions at all please give me shout, great fishing to you!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

    Looks like you have thought this out well. The knot you use on the bead chain swivel is also commonly called an “Improved clinch knot”. 🍻

    • @baldeaglefishingadventures
      @baldeaglefishingadventures  3 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Thank you for your comment!! I learned that knot 40 years ago, and has served me well! Back in the day, that is what we called it, but yes you are correct!

    Once finished tieing the hooks, if the leader starts to back out the eye of the hook, wouldn’t it start to unravel the wraps you did around the shank of the hook?

    • @baldeaglefishingadventures
      @baldeaglefishingadventures  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Yes it would, but I have never had one back out in several years of doing this! I have tied hooks like this for many years long before I did this video on the FBR. However there are other ways to tie these hooks together using different methods if you don't feel comfortable using this one.

  • @reece4731

    I’ve tried an FBR before but it didn’t work out for me but with the two hooks being so deadly I think I might try it again thanks for the video

      @baldeaglefishingadventures  3 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Hey Brother, You are very welcome!!!! If You try it out let me know how it works out! I do believe the two hooks is the game changer!

    • @baldeaglefishingadventures
      @baldeaglefishingadventures  3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Hey Reece, I just wanted to update you with how I did today. I can sum it up in one word "SUCKED". One scratch bait, and that is all she wrote. I heard of only one 10 pounder taken at 10 mile, that was it. I spoke with a commercial buddy of mine, he said that he had no Salmon either. I asked him if has heard of any big schools of fish moving into our waters from the north, he said no, and that it will be very spotty until the end of the season with very small schools pushing through. I will probably try for Salmon a couple more times, and that will be the end for me. I will keep you updated as I go!

      Ok thanks for the report they might have moved down all towards Duxbury Stinson area at least that’s what it seems I might be giving shipping channel a shot for my next trip if the bite doesn’t heat up but we will see

    Thanks for the intel. Did you happen to find those owner hooks at outdoor pro shop?

    • @baldeaglefishingadventures
      @baldeaglefishingadventures  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      You are very welcome! I did get those at outdoor pro, however they are not Stainless steel, and after a couple of uses they rust, so I did find better hooks on Amazon, they are 5/0 Mustad Salmon-Stainless Steel, part# 9510xxxs-ss, they come 8 in a pack. They do have a barb that will need to be removed, but they are awesome, and no rust, and super sharp! Thanks for checking out one of my videos, and best of fishing to you!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

    • @camcam3087
      @camcam3087 2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @@baldeaglefishingadventures I looked on Amazon but it’s open siwash. Siwash shouldn’t be used for the trailing hook.

    • @baldeaglefishingadventures
      @baldeaglefishingadventures  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @@camcam3087 , Unfortunately all the ones I've come across are that way. I just take a pair of pliers and crimp it closed, it works like champ! Just make sure that there is no gap for the line to come out.

  • @pauljohnson2386
    @pauljohnson2386 3 ปีที่แล้ว +2

    I did something similar by adding a trail hook that free floats up along the tubing. I simply set the trail hook 1/2 down the herring just to give another hook opportunity for kings. Had several great king strikes not get fully hooked using just the single hook provided. As I see your setup how about tying a fixed leader and put the tubing in between both hooks? I almost tried a slip leader so I can adjust for difference sized herring

    • @baldeaglefishingadventures
      @baldeaglefishingadventures  3 ปีที่แล้ว +3

      Hi Paul, for awhile I used a slip leader, and had the hooks a bit further apart. The problem I had is most of the fish I caught were only getting the stinger hook, and I would lose some fish. However since I have been doing it this way I have had almost every fish with both hooks in it's mouth, and I have put more fish in the boat because of that.

    Have you been having good luck with these? Do you have any reviews? I'm looking at buying a rig ....

    • @baldeaglefishingadventures
      @baldeaglefishingadventures  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Hey brother, if you haven't watched some of my Salmon videos, you might want to. When I'm using Anchovies for bait this is the only rig I use, but you will need to make some adjustments to it just like I describe in my video of making the perfect FBR.
      Thanks for your question!!!

    Great video, I appreciate your attention to detail.
    I’m surprised you chose the Owner AKI hooks over the Owner No Escape Barbless hooks.
    Have you compared the two or tried the No Escape hooks?

    • @baldeaglefishingadventures
      @baldeaglefishingadventures  3 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Hi Joseph, thank you for your awesome comment, I had looked at all the hooks they had there, and AKI hooks were the only ones that I saw that had the design I was looking for. Most of all the hooks had that design where the point of the hook bent inward too much in my opinion.

    Does pinching the barbs acceptable with the fish n game. Or what do you use to take off the barbs completely

    • @baldeaglefishingadventures
      @baldeaglefishingadventures  3 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Hey Lloyd, so for me I use a die grinder that I bought at Harbor freight tools for $10.00 to remove the barb. I know plenty of guys that just pinch them, but a few years back I had a fish n game officer take a cotton ball to a buddy of mines rig that he had pinched, and luckily no cotton came off running it through the cotton ball, but if he had not pinched it down well, and cotton had come off he would have been fined.

      Thanks brother!!! I had one of those digital scales back several years ago when I caught that bad boy, but a few years later, and moisture killed it, so that's why I was able to be exact. All I've had for a while is a mechanical one but the numbers are pretty small, and the video camera can't even read it well, so I picked up a nice digital scale that's fully waterproof, now I just need a big fish to put on it!!!
