5:09 Right where do I begin. In easier words DO NOT STAY HERE! It is as simple as that. This accommodation is legit prison. Don't get me wrong the facilities are great and the rooms are big with a lot of storage space but the thing you don't get when living at Godiva is your freedom. The reception and staff are incredibly rude and won't help you with your needs, for example, my flat was missing a hoover in our kitchen and when we requested for one they said we will and we ended waiting five months for one ans they never brought us one so we had to go and steal another flats hoover. If you have parcels delivered to the accom you are not allowed to collect it you have to wait for a confirmation email from the reception as the reception need to know what you have ordered because they think people be ordering flippin bombs or something. The reception and staff and even security only care if your breaking the rules. My friend had a bag with her trainers in which someone stole and she reported this and again they did nothing to help. They refused to check CCTV and refused to do anything to benefit her needs. Disgraceful and appalling service must i say. The security is what makes this accommodation probably the second worst in Coventry. After 11pm don't even bother leaving your flat to go to another flat as you will get a warning for that, don't play music at all as for them it is strictly prohibited, you cannot chill or socialise in the common room after 11pm or you will get a warning and you cannot play pool or table either after 11pm or you will get a warning, and don't keep your kitchen cutlery's in your room. My friend got kicked out, yes kicked out on the spot just for having kitchen knives found in his room, due to stuff getting stolen in his flat kitchen he decided to hide it in his room. Then they randomly were doing room searches and found the knives and cutlery in his room and kicked him out on the spot. Do not stay here as it isn't a safe accom either. people have even died at this accom. Someone committed suicide in their room and the accom didn't care , someone got stabbed and someone got shotgunned. My friend had a gun pulled on him as well one time at 4am in the morning after clubbing. There are basically four types of people you will get at this accom. Fraudsters, Trappers, Witches and the calm ones. The fraudsters will be asking you to create all these banks like revolut, etc just to do fraud on your name so they can get 10k. They normally wear a tech fleece and a goose jacket and can be seen with a E scooter. The trappers are nitties pretty much and they normally wear tech fleeces and go around asking if you smoke and they have stashes of weed and drugs hidden in their room. The witches are people that bang jujj which is a type of witchcraft to curse people and do evil eye on them. They mostly live in block 5 only so i recommend not to step in block 5. The calm ones are the normal people who just live and chill at Godiva for vibes. They have constant beef with the security and are known to be quite bait as well. You cannot have any guests after 11pm because the security think pretty much anyone who isn't a resident is a serial killer and is out to burn the accom down. So don't have guests over as they will be treated like rubbish from the staff and security. People at this accom are very nice and friendly, however, and its mostly black people at this accom so if your white don't even bother staying here because you will just get pressured.

Hi, I’m terms of location it very good as your looking at 5 min walk to campus however do remember it’s one of the older accommodations so it’s not got Morden amenities. Also this accommodations has single beds as opposed to double beds which does allow for more space in the room

Hey, Yes students do need to vacate student halls at the end of the year as they are prioritised for first year students. There are a lot of storage facilities with reasonable rates in the city/area. I’m private accommodations this is possible. For student halls you’ll need to apply again.
Hi, as these are older accommodations your less likely too have the restrictions that come with the new ones if that makes sense, however as they are university owned the rules maybe slightly similar just not as strict I.e no airport style security ❤️

I never attended cu however I do know they go at a slower pace than Coventry but it really depends on the sort of learner you are and what would suit you
To be honest there are opportunities to work with future lets however obviously this is not a continuous source of income the best bet would be to find a job within the city
Hi yes , so ideally I would have recommended code however it isn’t complete yet so you will not get all the amenities you are paying for. In this case I would recommend getting a studio in bishop gate, Godiva or Gosford or looking into privately owned ones. IFYLDN Thé Phoenix award scholarship comes with free accommodation which is either priory hall or quadrant hall. Hey as this is a university and accommodation it does have restrictions when I was a student you had to give 72 hours notice to allow gas to be able to come in and out at any time however if they are in from an earlier hour such as before 10 pm it will not be an issue as such. Hope that helps

Hi I’m not sure if PhD students are fully funded however if you call student finance they should’ve able to answer that for you. Accommodation is chosen by the individual not the uni. I would say it is a good place as there are a lot of international’s studying there and you will not feel like an outsider. I personally haven’t had any bad experience with the uni.

Hi there, I'm considering to apply here. May I know if the PhD student is fully funded, do we choose our accommodation or do they decide on which place we gonna stay? Do you think this uni is a great place to study for international students? Any bad experience from you or international friend?
Hi I’m not sure if PhD students are fully funded however if you call student finance they should’ve able to answer that for you. Accommodation is chosen by the individual not the uni. I would say it is a good place as there are a lot of international’s studying there and you will not feel like an outsider. I personally haven’t had any bad experience with the uni.
