Chris was a mine of information when I worked at Olivetti Research Lab. Great chap to work with.

Proof that greatness is built upon a pyramid of great people and hard work

I bet I'm not the only person who wishes they were around at the time and part of this group, Wow!! , what a lucky man.

Well, I thought I knew everything about the history of Acorn and all the personalities involved in it's conception, but I have to confess, I had never heard of Chris Turner and his involvement. Anyway, I do now! Many thanks The Center for Computing History for ALL these videos.

Great stuff!! I have been waiting to see him interviewed, haven't seen him anywhere on You Tube. Have subscribed with you so I don't miss anything.

Thanks for this video. I love to hear about Acorn and ARM. I'd love to hear about more about the Acorn's 32-bit Operating System instead of the hardware. So any new videos on RISC OS would be fantastic.

"Fred", "Jim" and "Sheila" have since passed into legend.

Remember seeing the MK14 in Everyday Electronics for £40 - which was a huge amount of money for a teeenager - I was on 20 new pence pocket money!

+Steven Whiting Haha :) Yes ... I supplied all the computers too and consulted on technical accuracy. It was a huge amount of fun (and hard work!).

i know that Lander DID have sound at some point (in 1989 or 1990 or 1991 intro video of Acorn BBC A3000 Lander has sound but my question is what happened to the sound?? though thanks.

Lander was a stripped down version of the full game Zarch. Zarch had sound and was no doubt what they filmed for the demo video.
