The Oko + Tabernacle interaction actually isn’t a bug. Tabernacle gives every creature the tax as a triggered ability. This means that Tabernacle’s and Oko’s effects both apply at the same Layer “giving and removing abilities”. This means it comes down to timestamps. Since Tabernacle was played first, it gives creatures the taxing ability, then, since Oko was played after Tabernacle, Oko’s elking removes the triggered ability given to the creature by Tabernacle. As a result the opponent doesn’t have to pay for it.
Just a point about Oko and timpestamps the timestamp from the elking is not related to when Oko was played its tied to when the ability was activated namely this is covered by 613.7b A continuous effect generated by the resolution of a spell or ability receives a timestamp at the time it’s created.
That's only is they elk a creature though, right? Cause if you elk an artifact, shouldn't that create a dependency since oko now changes the number of things that tabernacle affects?
The thing I enjoy most about watching BoshNRoll is his reaction to cards he hasn't seen before being played in eternal formats. Truly something special.
putting the spoiler at the end of a long title is an omega-brained strat, i was so pleasantly surprised watching this league cause i didnt see the end of the video title 😂
The tabernacle issue was not actually due to a bug, its a timestamps thing, where oko's +1 making all the creatures lose all abilities includes the ability that forces you to pay 1 if the +1 was used with the tabernacle already in play, but if it is played afterwards, then it gives all the creatures the ability.
If anyone wants to see other people play this deck, Miharu Fuyumiya is a japanese player who is a really good goddamn pilot. You can check her games on youtube.
Ima go out on a limb and say that these are my Absolute favorite videos. 5 0 vintage leagues were you play a deck that can get scrappy with something not always at the top while also being in your wheelhouse. Watching intently!
Making sure it is clear. You can tinker for a non-creature with grafdiggers cage in play. The grafdiggers hurts citadel a bunch but can still grab a top or if you're way ahead nug them for 10. Used to be a thing people would bring it in to stop blightsteel then lose to vault key.
Oath of Druids is my vintage deck of choice and I was really hoping that you would play it in your testing for eternal weekend. Super hyped to give this a watch!
So in round two, you faced off against a deck I saw IAmActuallyLvl1 showcase that's like a Blue Aggro Shops that has an 8cast package. I've played around with it a little and Oath seems like a real pain point for the deck, glad to see I wasn't completely wrong about that.
One thing that impressed me about this deck was casting Atraxa. It seems pretty doable with all the mana ramp, especially if you have triggered at least one Atraxa already. There just aren't as many draws in this deck that feel dead when Atraxa pitches to everything and is castable.
Just a point about Oko + Tabernacle, its not bugged, what you have are 2 continuous effects giving/removing abilities. Namely we have tabernacle which gives creatures the upkeep ability and Oko which removes all abilities. Importantly here the timestamp on Tabernacle is when it entered the battlefield, where as with Oko its when you activated the ability, so the Tabernacle gives the elked things the upkeep trigger but Oko then overrides that ability by making the elks lose their abilities. Also on another point about the Atraxa there have been a few times (probably due to how MTGO displays things) where not all the available cards were added to hand (there was a show and tell at one point when you were adding an Atraxa, and in the game with the Oko + Tabernacle interaction there was an Oko).
BOSH PACK SMOKE EM IF YOU GOT EM THE ETERNAL OATH OF BOSH PACKERS AND BEAN FLICKERS TODAY I SLEPT IN UNTIL SEVEN SO IM A LITTLE LESS WIRED BUT IM SMOKING THAT VINT
@35:20 you were so bummed that you missed out on vamp tutoring on upkeep that you missed out on vamp tutoring, hard casting another atraxa, and casting Timewalk.
It would be similar to regular Vintage but even more combo heavy. You have 4x of all the busted tutors, so it's not even about drawing your combo, it's just going off as fast as you can with protection.
It wasn't necessary in the game where you were looping time walks, but never forget about Citadel's second effect, it could certainly be the difference in a spot like that!
Any idea why the opponent scooped at 10:52? Seems like they could have played to hoping you bricked off of Citadel, get a Key off their Urza's Saga pop, take infinite turns, and overpower Atraxa with giant constructs.
Vintage players on MTGO are notorious for scooping as soon as things look a little bad. They'd probably play it out at Eternal Weekend, but in a league it's better time equity for many people to just start a new game.
@@BoshNRoll Fair enough, I just wasn't sure whether there was something I was missing when I didn't see a deterministic win from you and they had an on-board Vault+Key win.
It might be on my end, but I'm hearing some vibrations in the background like a speaker on a glass bowl here and there, echoing your voice. It's pretty apparent at 58:07.
42:52 - Couldn't you just play the Boseiju, Demonic Tutor for Time Walk, play Time Walk, then attack twice with Atraxa? The opponent can't do anything with Defense Grid in play.
I think putting if a video is undefeated is really bad, one it spoils the video, two it spoils EVERY other video. If you don't put undefeated or a trophy in the title or thumbnail it can be safely assumed that you've lost some in the video. The.videos dont even tend to get more views. If you go undefeated with a meme deck like hive mind by all memes click bait it it for all its worth, but dont spoils every video please.
Even before reading them, which i now have, i know you have to play the algorithm. My personal displeasure isnt worth much and i can only hope that in the future these things dont need to be neccisary. @@BoshNRoll

Thats kinda crazy
I think I knew this when Oko was in Legacy then deleted it with the rest of the Oko file post ban. Thanks for the reminder!

I was thinking that their had to be an infinite loop with the blessing, but you figured it out.
Sweet vid.
I appreciate that the title mentioned the trophy/5-0 at the end so it got cut off on mobile. I got to watch the entire video without being spoiled :D
The title was just long enough on my phone that I didn't see the 5-0. That was a fun surprise
I am finding sneaky ways to appropriately promote the channel and give deniability to those who like the suspense.

I played a lot of Oath of Druids in vintage (Type 1) back in the day! So glad to see it back!
Congrats! This deck has always looked good, but that trophy convinced me to construct it in paper.
Your Vintage videos are my favourites :)

this here's the strongest deck i've ever seen
12:56 me when playing any kind of magic past 2015
Love atraxa my favorite card since her release
Besides using vamp tutor in your upkeep, you also forgot to put show and tell into your hand with the Atraxa trigger.
Love when Bosh plays some Vintage!
this looks like it plays like an EDH deck in constructed, diggin it
@35:20 you were so bummed that you missed out on vamp tutoring on upkeep that you missed out on vamp tutoring, hard casting another atraxa, and casting Timewalk.
35:34 you had enough mana to cast vamp, then another atraxa, then the timewalk from top, with force backup in hand thanks to your existing atraxa.
At 28:00 you mention you would like a Bayou, but your fetch is a Scalding Tarn anyway.. 😅
Really want to see a non-restricted version of vintage. That would showcase the true power of magic.

The game where you went infinite with time walk was like watching an episode of yu-gi-oh lol
this deck is super cool!
Round 4 was just a delight.
I see you with the Sade reference.
It took me way to long to get the title pun today XD
No Mindbreak Trap in against the deck that’s trying to cast every spell in it in one turn?
Solid 🎉
Can we get this man on the new Vintage Super League?
Tell Anzi you want to see me!
My understanding is that Tabernacle gives the pay 1 ability to creatures and Oko removes that ability it's very unintuitive but it is correct
you do realize you could have Vamped tutor at around 36:00, drawn the timewalk with Atraxa and played it right away, right? You had exactly 10 mana!
So we’ve settled the Atraxa vs Griselbrand debate conclusively right?
Certainly in shells with 6 Forces and Flash. Still some ground to cover in black reanimator decks.
Round 4 I'm pretty sure it's a timing issue for tabernacle and oko elks

How does Atraxa attack twice off 1 Time Walk?
@@BoshNRoll Ah, nevermind. I didn't realize that this was post-combat main.

Hello!
Hello!
Yay oathko!
Shame mentioning the 5-0 helps out in the algorithm, I wish we could keep the surprise.... But content is still content, great video as always!
Personally I prefer the mentioning of it, since sometimes he gets given a brew that goes 1-4 and I find it very uninteresting gameplay.
The video title 😂
