    This video is really awesome because from that high spot you can see the shadow around the landscape running towards you. Must have been an out of this world experience in person.

    I dreamed of being able to see totality from a mountain top. That is a very special thing you got to do.

      2019, Go to Chile.

      Buddha The monk The good Chilean eclipse is in 2020, not 2019. I plan on viewing it from the Pucon ski resort.

    • @pradeep183
      @pradeep183 7 ปีที่แล้ว

      Official Guitar The path of totality is going to cross over pacific ocean, Chile and Argentina in July 2019. There will be another total eclipse just 17 months after the solar eclipse of 2019 which will also be visible from chile and Argentina.

    • @pradeep183
      @pradeep183 7 ปีที่แล้ว

      Official Guitar also if people can get make it to the path of totality in the pacific ocean (2019) they will get a chance to see the totality for more than 4 mins.

    • @officialguitar3667
      @officialguitar3667 7 ปีที่แล้ว

      Buddha The monk Is the 2019 one not an annular eclipse? Even if it's total, it will be very short on the South American continent.

    Im amazed and very disappointed at the bad comments of your trek......which I thought was awesome. I wish I could have had that experience with my Dad...and it pleases me no end that you and your Dad got to experience this. Those who found it necessary to make negative comments dont appreciate the gifts that we are designed to create, and instead focus on the diminished capacity of their self imposed limitations. Thank you for sharing your video. SOme of us will never have the opportunity to achieve what you did, but now we can say we experienced it...thanks to your video. Much Appreciated. God Bless

    WOW!!! Thanks for sharing this! I didn't think this was even possible...to climb to the top and watch the eclipse. We were just below at Gros Ventre road. And, I might not have believed your video if it wasn't for the airplane contrail curving after the eclipse because I captured that on my video!!!

    • @SCGATOR2001
      @SCGATOR2001 7 ปีที่แล้ว

      I was in Gros Ventre campground until a couple of days before the eclipse. We had volunteered in Eastern Wyoming with the State Park at Glendo and I hated to leave but we had promised. We helped staff for several days before the eclipse and the morning of the eclipse about 5 am I had a staff member tell me to get down to parking, THOUSANDS of cars arrived before the gate was staffed. We parked what seemed like countless cars until they released us at 10 am (total was at 11:45). I put my camera on a distant ridge on the tripod to get the shadow approaching but it WAS FAST! Next time I will be on the highest point I can find to see the shadow approach. I was thinking if I had stayed in Gros Ventre I wanted to video the Teton Mountains as the shadow approached. But this video got it! Fantastic! I had seen one about 98% before but 100% is so much different. On to 2024. We also saw aircraft immediately after the total.

    The most awesome part was being able to see the shadow on the Earth surface and the fact that you were up there with your dad. Wow my dad and I did hiking up until very recently and I didn't truly appreciate it until he got sick and could no longer climb a mountain. Cherish the moments. That was actually the most incredible experience and worth a mention. You guys definitely went all out for this capture of the eclipse. Congratulations and thank you for sharing that with us

      KrizAkoni hey, fellow Tennessean! I got to see the eclipse from the top of Foothills Parkway, just outside the Smokeys...my favorite part from that perspective was the "360 degree sunset"...unfortunately, there were too many trees to see the moon's shadow racung across the mountains

    got to the saddleone day and had my climbing buddy get soaked by an unexpected rain. backtracked had a new forecast so...up at about 2 a.m. then soloed back to the col, met a German who had never climbed before, taught him the basics, made the summit and back and back down and to the airport in time for my flight at 3 just as the gate closed behind me! The Grand wish I could have been there. Awesome to see the shadow of the event! Thank you thank you!

    While you were watching from the top of the Mountains I was watching below on Elk Flats with the mountains in the background. It's amazing to watch this while thinking "At the time he reached the summit we were watching bison go by us. We could practically see each other".
    A day after the eclipse I actually met someone on that plane we both saw. They could not land during the eclipse, and the passengers watched the eclipse from the windows as the plane circled.
    So many stories on a perfect day.

    A very impressive video, great Job! You are very lucky. Of course, everyone who saw the totality was lucky, and i'm proud to report I SAW IT TOO! I was in Corvallis, OR at the time, and I got to see it all. I got it on video too, though yours is a way better quality video then mine. The totality you saw looks exactly like what I saw. It's about time we Americans got to see a total solar eclipse, the last one here was in 1979, before I was born. You dream of this for years, and FINALLY, it happens! For those that saw the totality, I salute you. Next one in the states'll be in 2024, I must be sure to plan a trip to the totality region for that one.

    This video is awesome! I loved how you could see mercury right next to the corona :) You guys did so much planning and it all worked out perfectly! that must feel good. My fiance and I didn't decide we were going until Sunday, so we couldn't even get eclipse glasses. Then, we drove to Nebraska and it was raining the whole drive, we really thought it was gonna be a total disappointment. We got off the highway and drove through random corn fields trying to find blue sky. Luckily there was another family there that had an extra pair of glasses to give us! Totality happened at the perfect time right in a small gap in the clouds! 15 minutes sooner or later and it would not have been visible. When I saw it all that anxiety of not being prepared at all and thinking it was gonna be a waste of time vanished. It was truly the most amazingly beautiful thing I have ever seen in my life! Great eclipse vid!

    Awesome! I was at 11,400 feet on Union peak just to the East. I caught the shadow covering the Tetons a minute before going over us. Was cool watching the lights come on.

    Incredible. What an adventure. Thanks for for sharing and inspiring. I live in totality path for 4/8/2024. No cliffs around here to climb. Not that I could.
