So pretty. Another source for inspiration is quilt block patterns! btw: south Texas temp 108* ... case of canned sodas in car ... explosion ... continue to find and cleaning more sticky spots in the car! The cans are still art worthy! 😁
Instead of glue stick when you’re cutting out your design, I would use double stick tape. I just thought I would share my idea. That’s very creative. What you came up with kudos to you👍🫶
Thanks. I hope you enjoy the project. Sorry you are suffering through a heat wave. I would love to visit Greece some day. It seems so very romantic compared to middle American but I can't complain Colorado is a beautiful state. Cheers and happy crafting 🙂
Do you sell these wonderful pieces you make? They are rather beautiful. I can see the same technique could be utilized but using fabric swatches, or coloured plastic instead of tin cans. Thank you for the inspiration, the possibilities are endless. Have a great weekend.
Hi Carly - I don't sell a lot but I do have a craft fair that I enjoy going to before Christmas. Thanks for your kind words and encouragement I am happy you are inspired 😊
Hooray for upcycling! I love how your pieces turned out. I’ve made so much jewelry out of soda cans. It’s fun making something out of “trash”. You’ve inspired me! Consider me subscribed.
This was really neat to watch. I dont think I'll ever look at a soda can the same way again. I hope to try this project at some point. I also wanted to mention how enjoyable it was to watch your video. The quality is fantastic as far as sound, editing, clarity, easy to follow and understand, etc. Thank you for a great video. I liked and subscribed.
Hi - and welcome. I hope you enjoy looking around my channel. I have lots of crafting projects that use beer and soda cans, recycled glass projects and more. 🙂
I feel a new project coming on😄 I do quilts, scenery quilts, mostly. I like to make them look like stained glass too. I love to do curtains that look like stained glass and when the sun shines through it's so bright and colorful. I've tried real stained glass but I wasn't good at it. My soldering always clumped up. 🤷 You did great explaining how to do this. I subbed and liked! Thanks !
Just as an aside - it might have been the flux or the temperature of your heating element. Mind you, this is just from my research, I haven't attempted my stained glass project yet because I'm waiting for cooler weather so that I can work outside, but from what I've read, that is the main causes of clumping. 🤷🏻♀️
First time watching one of your videos. I really enjoy your style of videos and your finished art. I have been saving seltzer cans for something (?) and now have found my craft. I will have to start asking for other varieties of cans! Look forward to watching more of your videos!!!
I wonder if you could use that metal tape for the edges of earrings also...😮😅🥰 Thank you for sharing. This video was awesome, and your artwork and creativity are amazing.
It came out nice. I love it.hign 10-times. Well done. Very created. Thank you for sharing this with us. God bless you. Continue to do more your beautiful work love it.❤Love ❤Luz
Wondering how sun-proof the cans are for outdoor use? Was thinking about doing a flag. I would nail or wire colored pieces to waterproof material. Super sunny here!
Thanks for your question. The cans do fade in the sun. I believe that you can find sealers that provide UV protection so I would definitely recommend using one if you plan to put your project outside.
Hi, I just discovered your YT channel and I love it! I watched the glue comparison video just now and would like to get the JB weld w/ the light- so exciting. I wanted to ask if you have any advice or insight on creating bezels for irregularly shaped beach glass, paperclay, beads etc when using strips cut from aluminum cans. I am trying to avoid soldering. Thanks so much for the info you share.
Hi thanks for watching. I haven't done anything with bezels but it is an interesting idea I will have to contemplate. I am terrible at solder so I understand. 🙂
Thanks. I would not recommend putting them outside unless you have a really good sealer that also protects from UV rays. The print on the cans fades pretty easily in the sun and the paint and tape would also need to be sealed to withstand the elements. 🙂
@@UpcycleDesignLab I had never done this before, and thought it would be easier, but found out the hard way, when I tried doing this myself. 😂. I have come up with some ideas that I will be trying. This is fun and addictive. 😀
This was such a good idea and very pretty. I couldn’t believe the silver lines were just paint.
Thanks for watching. I am happy you liked the project. 🙂

Yikes sorry for the mess and the heat. Thanks for watching. I am intrigued by the quilt blocks idea thanks for sharing. 🙂
The soda cans can be embossed with a design. Place the metal over a textured surface and rub. Embossing machines are made for this.
Yes the aluminum drink cans are easy and fun to emboss by hand or with a machine. Thanks for watching

Thanks for watching and for your tip. You could definitely use the double sided tape if that is what you have available.
Wonderful tutorial as always. I love your creativity and clear step-by-step instructions.
Thanks so much 😊
This is my favorite project you've made. I am going to try it.
Thanks so much. Have fun. 🙂
Pretty cool. I would have loved to have done this in school or amp as a kid.Thank you for sharing!
Thanks for watching 😊
I’d like to do stained glass, but working with lead gives me pause. This is a really fun (and economical) way to get a similar look. TYFS
Thanks for watching. 🙂
You are so clever! I’m definitely going to try this…after our heat wave( all summer) subsides here in Greece. 🥵

@@UpcycleDesignLab ah, a kindred non soldering spirit! I would love to know if you try riveting a bezel !

Just beautiful. Are these best for indoor or out, and if out, what would be the estimate on longevity?

Nice video 👍. A!d thanks for not doing the fake open mouth thing in your picture. Somebody please tell me why ppl do that?
Thanks for watching 😊
Is there a reason for using scissors to cut tape instead of a utility blade?
Scissors are very common for anyone to have.
For safety and control, and accuracy cutting of the aluminum tin can it the better way if you don't have industrial tools
I think it is the easiest but you can use your cutting tool of choice. 🙂

Sure you could do that. Thanks for watching 😊
Very beautiful
Have you tried this on glasd?
Hi - I am not sure if I understand your question but I haven't ever worked with stained glass.
It’s pronounced Nash-U-Ah 🌞
I think someone has told me that before but I can never remember when I am recording 😁
@@UpcycleDesignLab Lol; I grew up in Vermont, but my mom was from Milford, NH.
The closest “city” is Nashua. 😊🌞
If you don’t have a prayer, use a spoon because you can put your thumb in the spoon and rub over top and get everything nice and contacted the glue
Thanks for the tip. I will have to remember that one. 🙂
Nashua is 3 syllables: NA shoo aa.
Thanks but I can't promise I will remember 🤣🤣
A lot of folks tell me this is a waste of time!
As much of a waste of time as leaving superfluous comments?
L arte del tacere non fu mai scritto
Nashua is pronounced Nash-you-uh.
Thanks 😊 🙂🙂
