I have a beautiful infrared sauna. But I also have ADHD and have an “out of site out of mind” issue and it’s in our basement. So I sat a reminder for every two days!!! Thanks for the reminder
Hi, I had the opportunity to try an I infrared sauna many years ago. I was very skeptical going into it...omg was I wrong. The best way I could describe it was that it was the same refreshing feeling after swimming in the lake. I had the greatest urge to start stretching and wasn't sure why. So I am totally sold. I'm trying to convince my 80 year old dad who has a lot of aches and pains to try an infrared sauna. He doesn't exercise, he can hardly walk half a block without having to sit down. He wont try anything, he is very...well, he reminds me of the old man in the disney movie "UP". Today I came across an Infrared sauna BLANKET on Amazon. I never knew that even existed and I'm pretty sure he will try something if he can lie down while doing it, lol. I'm so excited but wanted to review a bit first. Now I'm here. What do you think about an infrared blanket for elderly people? Do you think it would be a similar result as the sauna?
IR blankets offer some benefits but they're not quite the same as actual IR saunas. Your dad could also try a red light blanket or full body mat (see michaelkummer.com/go/mitomat). Additionally, I'd encourage your dad to go on a meat-only diet for a while. Most aches are due to inflammation and not eating anything but meat will likely fix that. Depending on what you may have heard about nutrition that may seem counterintuitive but it works. See michaelkummer.com/health/plants-vs-meat/ for why that is.
Thank you so much for this informative video.I just had a similar IR portable sauna delivered yesterday and look forward to use it regularly.I had to smile when I saw your handsome dog looking at you, I wonder what he was thinking!?
Good video and there is a boatload of data and research to back up the use of a sauna for all the issues you mentioned. Do you like the Sunlighten Model? I love my Signature Model.
Thank you for all that information. I live in Queensland Australia and am looking for an affordable infared sauna. I’ve researched, and like you also stated, that the full spectrum infared saunas are the best, but they are also the most expensive. I am hoping a Far Infared sauna is also good enough. I know it may not help with skin issues? If you could comment on that I would appreciate it 😊😊
Dunno... I'm going full hot rock steam.. Looked at the steam gens, but want an outside room to keep moisture out of the house. Anyway... a lot more power required. That's the downside.
I have a 7' barel sauna with hot rock heater. I am considering to add infra red heating elements. Can you make recommendation for heating elements that can be added to my sauna. Any help will be appreciated.
Unfortunately, I never purchased individual heating panels but I recommend asking for emissivity levels before purchasing and to stick to panels that offer 95%+ emissivity.
Could I add a infrared space heater into my sauna to raise the temperature? or have you had any experience with the infrared sauna panels that are sold on Amazon? I have room in my sauna to place one on my sidewall. Thanks
You could but it's not necessary. See th-cam.com/video/ca05FLj0Ngw/w-d-xo.html. Also, I don't have any experience with sauna panels on Amazon but I suspect they're low quality and relatively ineffective.
The huge 16x increase in growth hormone is enough of a reason for me to use a sauna. I was not a believer until I used one for the second time, after a strenuous workout. WOW! I’d never had such a beautiful recovery the day after. I had tons of energy and no soreness at all.
Many red light therapy devices emit red and near infrared light, IR saunas emit far-infrared and sometimes all three wavelengths (far, mid and near). So yes, there is usually a difference.
We have an infrared pod. I think some tanning salons carry them, but they have no tanning capability. Our Pod, that looks like a fancy tanning bed, is full-spectrum Infrared so yes, has the far infrared, along with the near infrared for skin health. A lot of those places are turning tanning beds into red light beds, I'd say get in that over the tanning bed.
Proper nutrition, good sleep, regular exercise and appropriate stress management make you lose fat but everything else being equal, sauna bathing can help you burn a few more calories.
Well you can build a sweat lodge. Cover a floorless tent with heavy blankets. Have a small fire with rocks heat the rocks with the fire till they're hot enough then take a shovel to bring hot rocks into tent use a ladle to pour a small amount of water onto the hot stones. Then you will create a sauna
I tried it once last week. Infared. Wall said 150 Fahrenheit. I liked it. Didn’t love it. Sweat about a bucket of water. I had to step out for a minute at about the 11 minute and 20 minute mark. Just kinda felt lightheaded. Felt numbness and almost needle feelings in my hands and feet. Arms felt heavy. Everything improved when I stepped out. So I’m not sure if there was something wrong with me. Or if I just got too hot
Thanks for the feedback! I totally understand where you’re coming from-too many cuts can feel a bit unnatural and even stressful. I appreciate your honesty, and I’ll definitely take that into account for future videos. Finding the right balance between keeping things engaging and maintaining a more natural flow is important. Thanks for watching and sharing your thoughts!

I just installed one in my home and did a session today. Was amazing. Look forward to using it post workouts … or even just daily. 😊
Great to hear!

This is great information! A few good pointers I can give to my clients too!

Yeah, I love our mPulse but would be equally happy with the Signature!
Wow!!!! So informative!!!
Glad it was helpful!
CUTE puppy!!!

I completely agree! A good FIR sauna will get you most of the benefits you're after (sans the skin health benefits NIR provides).
Maybe you could allow friends to use your sauna for a fee and that would help pay for it?
Can you do a video on Infrared Sauna combined with Wholebody cryotherapy please?
Thanks, I'll consider it!
Great video!
Glad you enjoyed it!
Is EMF a thing that we should worry about?
For sure. That's why I ask for test reports before purchasing an IR sauna.
lots of EMF when charging and using phones, ever sleep next to yoru phone while charging??
Dunno... I'm going full hot rock steam.. Looked at the steam gens, but want an outside room to keep moisture out of the house. Anyway... a lot more power required. That's the downside.
Followed by a near ice cold shower is glorious..
Do you recommend any particular "sauna" brand? Many thanks.
Yes, see th-cam.com/video/Ee6sYcB-O94/w-d-xo.html for my recommendations!

How many times can we use the infrared sauna in a week or a month??? Please advice
Depending on what goals you have but I'd shoot for about one hour of sauna per week to get a lot of its health benefits.
hi Michael wanna ask , can we wear apple watch or ultra during sauna or infrared ray sauna session ?
Yes, I never take my Apple Watch off while in the sauna.
appreciate the reply @@MichaelKummer
Thank you😊
You're welcome 😊

Sauna or Infrared ?
Is infrared different from red light therapy?
Many red light therapy devices emit red and near infrared light, IR saunas emit far-infrared and sometimes all three wavelengths (far, mid and near). So yes, there is usually a difference.
This the same thing as the infrared wellness pods in tanning salons now?
Not sure, I haven't been in a tanning salon in decades :)

Our Pod, that looks like a fancy tanning bed, is full-spectrum Infrared so yes, has the far infrared, along with the near infrared for skin health. Do saunas make you lose fat pads in your face?
Proper nutrition, good sleep, regular exercise and appropriate stress management make you lose fat but everything else being equal, sauna bathing can help you burn a few more calories.
what are the difference between steam room and sauna
Steam rooms are typically less hot but more humid than saunas.
Gr8 video
Thanks!
Where can I get, I am in mecca

I have a sauna for years ... now I have both hips replaced ... do you know if it's safe now .... thanks
I see no reason why a hip replacement would prevent you from enjoying your sauna.
@@MichaelKummer infrared sauna..???.!!!
@@judyfasola3737 I don't see any issues with either type of sauna (traditional or IR).

You were probably dehydrated!
1:45 the dog is like, what the fuck. And I agree with him.
Talked so fast
Apologies! You can read up on all the benefits on my blog: michaelkummer.com/health/infrared-sauna-benefits/
You’re good bro, understood everything you said and all the timing at 2x speed!!
On top of right hand corner there is setting. Click there and select the speed you like.
I watched it on 1.25x as usual.
Sounded perfect to me 👌🏼
Good info but….
I think it’s stressful watching a video when it’s cut and clipped over a1000 times. It’s unnatural and I get stressed.

Resting heart rate 45 to 50 a second 😳, you need help
How so?
Athletes or people with athletic history or that exercise regularly have lower resting heart rates.
I listened to the same thing….. it was plane to see that he miss spoke …..at least for a normally thinking person lol
