Great stuff Jason. I used to ride the 620/720 units all the time in the 1990s in the Hunter. They would wind up to 130km/h easily. I used to open the doors up and chock them with the old brass door stop and stand half hanging out at those speeds as the train sped through paddocks and overtook cars on the highway. My stop was the last in the line and there would be no one else on it. Great memories.
Thanks Peter, they were great units. Sounds like some great memories there. Must admit I do not know what speeds they got up to on the Illawarra line, but they could get up and go very quickly..cheers
Jason, another awesome video. I agree I love the cab ride views, I can get a good view of the whole layout then. I am also looking forward to the scenery of the layout also. Thanks for sharing, stay safe. Ken
Jason, you have a fine layout there. I can't wait to see how you do the scenery. I have to admit, that when I see those helices it reminds me of something Chaos, in a James Bond movie, would have in their secret lair.
Jason, when i watch this and the passenger train come's up to the turnout, with the loco waiting i keep thinking i hope the turnout is switched the right way, or else we would have another Adams Family Train Crash lol cheers Robert
THANK YOU FOR SUPER DETAILED RUNNING AROUND YOUR DETAILED LAYOUT AS WISH BEST FURTHER PLAN OF FIND FINISH BUILD AND WHERE START YOUR OPERATION OVER THE LAYOUT
Mate I’ve just received a complaint from customer ops……. over shot Pt Nth on the return trip…… passengers not happy 😆 😉 This vid highlights the quality of your track laying. ‘Drivercam’ takes no prisoners and that was ‘smooth as bro’ 👍😉
Lol..bloody passengers, you don't have these issues with coal runs 😁. Yeah was very happy how smooth the run was at higher speeds..and one take too..cheers
Hey Jason! Your MULTILEVEL LAYOUT is the best I've seen. Freaking incredible. I'm still working on getting my wife to approve our master bedroom for my layout room. I asked. She said "sure!". But I couldn't tell whether that meant "I can't wait for you to get started" or "sure, whatever, you crazy old freak". Later my daughter came in and said "so mom says you want to build a railroad in the master bedroom". I said yeah, did she sound excited about it? My daughter said "No she thinks you're crazy". So, I'm still thinking its probably not a good idea to start nailing benchwork to the walls....😒
Nice one Jason, really enjoyed that mate. Just read the comment from Koi Fish just out of interest, I’ve had a couple of funny comments from him to, nothing to worry about there, I think! What you’re doing is building one of the finest layouts on TH-cam, cheers mate, John
Thanks John, yeah if he feels that strongly about it, he can just unsubscribe. I have no time for keyboard warriors and this build isn't about instant gratification lol..regards
Jason, at 5:00 the train definitely runs through a switch aligned against it but as there is no camera shake as this happens I'm concluding it is a lightly sprung switch. That however bring up the question of how are you controlling the frog polarity for this switch, perhaps extending the frog section and using an automated unit such as a frog juicer? Nice run but man the time lapse speed through the helices brings on a bit of motion sickness when watching this on large screen TV!
Hi Jaguar, wow nice pick up.. did not notice that! I'll have to follow that up, especially since the camera didn't even blink an eye. I'm using frog juicers for all my points polarity requirements..although they can compete against my PSX circuit breakers and auto reverses. But nothing a bit of programming can't fix. Must admit haven't viewed on a large TV..regards
Hi Ken. An Australian company called Eureka Model's. Sold out and I have had a pre-order for another since 2011..not sure when this re-run will happen. There is another Auatralian company called Auscision Model's which is putting out a 4 car set soon, have one on order..regards
He still has more trackwork to do yet, then he has to wire it all and make sure it works the way he likes before worrying about scenery... operation is much more important lol
Sorry koi fish, won't be rushing for any one! If you are bored, it is best that you unsubscribe now and not put yourself through any more misery..cheers
@@JasonWood_Escarpment Definitely doesn't bore me, design, construction, and operation is my favourite part of the hoobby. Scenery is nice and I can't wait to see yours and do mine but it can wait. there are plenty of layouts doing scenery on TH-cam

that's a great looking DEB set - who makes them, and are they still available?

Start on the scenery. These escarpment uploads are all good and well but boring now. People will loose interest and subscribe

I am not bored. I really dig the engineering aspect of layout construction. And yours is unbeatable in my opinion.
