So glad you reacted to this!! Norm MacDonald is one of the only comedians who can pull out the corniest jokes, and make them hysterical.
So true
@@MaddyReactionsJust found your channel.From England 🏴
That was part of his style, to take old jokes from long ago and repackage them and many people were none the wiser. He did that at the Bob Saget roast. He didn't want to use the kind of crude bits that everyone else was using on his friend so he used a bunch of old Dad jokes and made it look like he was bombing. Those who knew what he was doing thought it was hilarious. Also for those who don't know what Conan was saying when he was playing the old time radio announcer, the Chestersheel figanuts was a riff on Chesterfield cigarettes.
Next up: the Moth joke!
The entire purpose of him doing old Henny Youngman jokes was to set up the dirty joke. He didn’t do those in his act. He was intentionally lulling the crowd and Conan and Andy into a stupor just to make the impact of his real joke greater. People don’t give Norm enough credit for his writing and mastery of the craft because his style always makes you think he’s just winging it. Every word is fine-tuned.
I love his delivery of the lines like "ya dirty dog" and "I said by God" they kill me every time.
😂😂😂
"Doc, she's choking!" Damn, that's great joke writing.
My favorite line: “But that’s modern medicine for you!”
I'm so happy you reacted to this, it's one of my favorite Norm moments ever, it's got the deeply closeted joke and the wife in a coma is just the cherry on top
😂
I’ve seen this clip 100 times and it still makes me laugh every time. This is the best delayed reaction I’ve ever seen. 😂
😂😂😂😂
Norm is a wild man lol. His stand up, his interviews, and even the stories that people have of Norm are just wild. He was unique and brilliant. Glad we have video to help us remember and relive those moments.
Always enjoy your reactions! Can't go wrong with Norm.
So true!
As a Canadian, he made me so proud. We are the best at self deprecating humour! Your reaction was the best!
This was Norm's Rodney Dangerfield phase.
It's a great book. And the audiobook is read by Norm himself!
I watch Norm TH-cam clips on repeat, I've probably seen this 50 times and it's still hilarious.
SAme here. Nice to see Maddy laugh.
@@Harry-Storm Probably like you guys, there isn't ONE TH-cam video of Norm MacDonald that I haven't seen.
Norm was doing his best Rodney Dangerfield impression. 🤣
Absolutely.
There will never be another Norm. He was either telling the funniest jokes or he would troll, just so it would be even funnier than a traditional joke. RIP not only the funniest man in history, but the most down to Earth, humble and honest comic in history.
😭🩷
Norms book is the best "memoir" ive ever read. A masterpiece
Wow!
Norm was the GOAT!!! His type of humor was and still is unmatched!
Agreed
The book is phenomenal.
Always loved Norm's style! Thanks for this one!
I love norm's moth joke so much, I always keep going back to rewatch it for years already.
Took you a soliddd minute to get the “she’s choking” joke. Was so great 😂😂
🤣
Norm was savage.
Appreciate this reaction choice
Get his audiobook. He reads it and it's incredible with his voice and delivery
I need to!?
Yes you do @MaddyReactions
I agree with you on Conan being the funnest late night show comic... especially nowadays!!
Yess
He was a genius.. His comedy and deep intelligence went underappreciated for so long..
YES 😂😂 My favourite Conan & Norm bit 😂👍
Norm and Conan were magic together
this was Norm's tribute to Dangerfield ❤
She was choking on it😂😂..he has such a unique rhythm, cadence and delivery omg i love your reactions to Norm 🙌 heyy little gremlin 🐶😍
😂😂
Conan and David Letterman were the two hosts that were actually great at being funny while bringing the best out of their guests. Norm’s stuff with Letterman is just as good as the Conan ones and he actually did the final standup set on Letterman’s final show.
I tell that joke, the "Choking" one, and nobodies ever heard it!
Norm had the ability to draw out really old jokes and make them funny. Some of his best stuff was done with Conan.
Norm was the comics comic. They all have stories of Norm
His book is so good. The audio book is even better bc he narrates it.
This is as good as great comedy gets
Agreed
I love how it took you a second
Listen to the audiobook he narrates it! Helps with the cadence n’at
His book is absolutely hilarious and if you'd rather listen to it than read it he actually does the narration of the audio book version. Recommended.
His 12 minute joke is a must, if you haven't seen it already.
5:25 when it finally clicks she’s dying 😆
Wait for it...WAIT for iiit....THERE IT IS!! I KNEW she'd get it!
That coma joke almost went so far over your head that it would have interrupted a satellite's orbit, JK(pun intended)!😂 One of my favorite Norm bits. Do you have any George Carlin bits forthcoming? ✌️☮️🤙🤟👊🔥❤️
😂😂😂 I’m not sure! If they’ve been put in as a request, yes! lol I don’t remember seeing any so far though
What a perfect day: Bowie my favourite artist and Norm my favourite comedian. It was a pleasure to watch the penny drop at the end.
His book is definitely worth reading.
Norm has multiple books narrated by him on audible, too.
That’s amazing!
Part of what's funny is he's telling ancient street jokes 😆I heard the "Dr's office" one 40 years ago 😷
That did it for me. I subscribed. You have a great sense of humor!
Welcome aboard!
Yes, but that second was priceless.
I knew exactly where that joke was going, which makes me a little fearful for my mental health.
Oomf 😂
Your reaction was priceless! I love that it took you a second; that made it even better!
I recommend the audio version of the book. It’s great listening to him.
Awesome reaction. Norm is absolutely hilarious rip. And you have like the best smile ever. Keep doing funny videos
🩷
RIP to my one of my favorite comics.
You should do more comedy reactions. Your smile and laugh are incredibly gorgeous!
Thank you ☺️
"What's going on here??? Is this a 1935 radio show?" lolololol
😂🩷😂😂
love that wee dog!
Norm is one of the rare gems!
You see him and just start thinking what’s he going to say and start laughing 🥳🤣
The book is hilariously better than you would even expect it to be.
Your doggy is soooo adorable! 😭🥰💕
☺️🩷
I remember Andy Richter on Conan’s podcast episode where they were remembering Norm he described Norm’s long jokes as “being taken through a long walk through the woods just to show us a turd”, and that when he told Norm that he giggled like a mischievous kid.
Conan's commencement address to Dartmouth College in 2011 is a classic that every Conan fan has to hear/see.
JK definitely owns a doghouse or two
The book is an interesting almost fictional, biography that reads just the way he speaks to talk show hosts.
LOL
Seven thought you were making fun of him when you snorted LOL
😂😂😂😂
Norm loved the old comics that came generations before. The cornier the better.
One of my fav Norm bits. Gotham Comedy Live when you get the chance :)
Loved you in The Good Doctor show. 💖
you gotta see the chairman of the board one LOL or when he went on the view and pissed off all the hosts
Also, I just wanted to say you are unbelievably beautiful. I'm kinda stunned tbh but I'm also correct.
Norm always looks like he knows the funniest joke ever, he just can't tell it.
😂😂 Norm got away with a lot on commercial TV
You're a gem🙏🏻

Growing up, I was a fan of SNL and Chris Farley and Adam Sandler's movies. I couldn't appreciate Norms humor at a young age, so I pretty much wrote him off. As an adult I enjoy Norms humor maybe even more than Farley and Sandler. One of my favorites being his Moth joke. If you have a chance, please check it out.
Norm's burns of OJ which got him fired from SNL were legendary. The only presenter on TV that called him a murderer during the trial, repeatedly! There's a comp of those jokes. You should check it out!
Love Norm and love your reactions.
I loved his book. Full of half truths. So good.
I can totally relate! I am a deeply closeted straight man!
The book was a really great read, mind you.
Ya gotta love Norm. And great reaction.🤣✌️❤️🎶
Get the audio version of the book. He reads it and it's fantastic - especially if you have familiarity with the podcast and the "role" of Adam Eget.
Oooh I do not!! Who is that?
5:16 I was watching that part thinking, 'I am not sure Maddy got that bit'.
Perhaps Norm should have said:
'Doc, she's choking on it'.
No he shouldn't, the suspense is what makes it
@@DjDown1984 But there is no suspense if you got the joke right away, like many will have, including Conan and the audience.

The late GREAT Norm is the stealth missile of comedians: when he hits he comes from a direction you'll never expect! 😆😆😆
😂
the book is hilarious
He was not for everyone, but he was for me...Thanks for this!
🩷
You should certainly check out his book, it's hilarious, and you'll never be sure of what stories in it are true or not!
Oh no way?!? 😂
Conan and Letterman figured out early that when Normie got a head of steam going, it was best just to ride it out and let Norm take it to the finish line.
The man had a devilish grin like few others when doing bits that he loved.
You could see your wheels turning!
Statement of fact: when he said you won't get this from any 1935 comic!
Please get his book in audio format read by Norm. It’s great. It’s on Audible
His book is great.
What I love about norm is that he can tell crappy jokes and make them hilarious with his delivery.
So true!
his book is a great read
Norm was the absolute BEST !!!!!!!
I love your laugh 😂😂
It's a really good fun book
I bet!
“And you won’t hear this from any 1935 comic …”
😂😂😂 so true. I’m glad you brought that back up because it was so accurate in regards to what he says 😭😂 Norm is too funny
@@MaddyReactions the sideways glance he gives to Andy after he says it always cracks me up
Im pretty sure hes doing someone from the 1935 jokes verbatim 😂
I own his book, it's great. Audiobook version read by him is even better.
lol I have to listen!
His book is amazing
Late night talk show hosts are notoriously not funny, you're right.
David Letterman - NOT FUNNY
Jay Leno - NOT FUNNY
Jimmy Kimmel - NOT FUNNY
Seth Meyers - NOT FUNNY
Jimmy Fallon - NOT FUNNY
Stephen Colbert - NOT FUNNY
Conan O'Brien - FUNNY!
Craig Ferguson - FUNNY!
Oooh I don’t know Craig
@@MaddyReactions Yeah, Craig is great IMO. He used to be in The Drew Carrey Show and he's done some voice acting in a few movies. And I forgot to add the GOAT, Johnny Carson. Arsenio Hall is pretty good too.
his book is BIZARRE and hilarious; i really recommend the audiobook version
lol I’ll have to listen now!!
Just remember that norm isnt gay...hes deeply closeted.😂
😂
You need to watch his appearance on the last Letterman show. It was incredible. His most famous performance.
you should really read his book, its brilliant
I’d like to!
