Frank is such a legend. An all around fighter...wrestling, striking, and submissions. He's a great guy and just an old vet from the early days that really helped mold MMA.

I don't know about any of you but I felt spiritual watching this clip, it teaches me how you can come back from a devastating defeat and still live life happy and surround with the people around you that bring positive vibe. If I was in his position I would be hugely disappointed and depressed and take me to the darkest corner to reflect on my mistakes and losses but Frank took it like a man, it just shows he is able to such defeat and motivate him still in life. Not many combat athlete would react the same way as Frank after a loss but this just how you can overcome adversity by understanding your limitation. Its beautiful to watch the tough psychological side of the fight game. Peace -cas

#FrankShamrock will forever be my favorite MMA fighter. People that aren't followers of history of MMA don't realize what he accomplished. He retired the UFC middleweight belt undefeated and dominated his opponents. He needs to be recognized in the #UFC Hall of Fame, just as John Perretti needs to be in Hall of Fame as well.

This was really good stuff. Always been a fan and I feel like I got to sit down and hang out with Frank with the informal way this video was presented. Seeing Mickey O' Rourke show up was pretty awesome too.
Frank is an approachable fighter/athlete and really does his fans a service. I wrote him a couple of fanboy emails once, not expecting responses. He actually responded thoughtfully--I think that was pretty awesome!

I have seen frank during his early,middle and later fights ,always a warrior ,very articulate,the best instructor i believe, this should be a portion of a TV special about Franks life as a fighter and as a great person.

Frank fights differently than he used to, and I'm not just talking about a reduction in intensity due to age. He used to have formidable takedowns, but I don't think he even attempted a single takedown in this fight. He mostly tried to box, which has never been his forte. It would be interesting to know if he suffered knee trouble and that is why he doesn't shoot for those leg takedowns like he used to, or if he just got teamed up with a bad coach that encouraged him to try to win the fight by boxing.
Also, his guard is very old school. He knows how to do closed guard and then try to kick and roll away if it goes to open guard, but he clearly knows no De La Riva or any other advanced open guard tactics. Diaz passed his guard effortlessly; Frank almost gave him the passes.
He still has a lot of guts getting into the ring though.

Think the last time I mentioned 'Shamrock' the dog is now ABKC champion. Since your blessing my doggy venture is growing from strength to strength and my health is getting better by the day, recovering from a shattered spine due to a bike crash many moons ago. Now proud dad and house husband.
My 5 year old unfortunately has started training in the Rener & Ryron Gracie academy here in the UK. Please don't judge me Sir, I made it quite clear to his teacher that they are second best as this was the only decent school in my area. It makes me sick sending him there but had no other option. I am sorry but if it makes things any better, I name drop you on occasion just to remind them who is the boss! haha they love you Sir.
All things aside I hope you and your family are good Sir, Thank you for always replying to my messages. It means the world to me and pumps me with that motivation. Hopefully aiming towards being able to roll again on the mat.
