Speaking of British traditions, it would've been interesting to ask the older ones what they remember of British colonialism or traditions, or even ask the younger ones what they heard about it! My grandparents, who were alive when we were a British colony, have lots of interesting tales and thoughts to share about it too. Mustafa talking about arrogance (I believe he might have lived under British rule) hints at this too.

Yea, my grandparents did. But since they lived in a rural area and not a city, their lifestyle wasn't much affected by it. They knew they were living under Colonist regime and called British _'Goras'_ or _'Firangis'._ It is interesting to know that to them their whole world was the village they spent their lives in, with their own village council to handle the affairs and shared stories to each other. Although, I do not know how it all went down for people living in other densely populated areas

Mustafa was actually kind of on to something with the arrogance comment. All the rules of formality and conduct were indeed a way for the British upper class to distinguish themselves from the rough masses. Later on in the 19th century, wealthy women often had tea gowns, which were informal (meant to be worn without a corset) but still very opulent, meant for entertaining guests in the afternoon hour.

What a wonderfully wholesome episode this was once again! I learned about tea time along with the villagers, and it was great. I also learned about their tea time from Mustafa, which I enjoyed. This was just incredibly sweet and exactly what I needed in my day. Besides - it was interesting to see how they like their tea. I have never had a scone in my life myself, but this makes me want to try them too! Greetings and blessings to all the crew and cast from Germany.

I understand etiquette is proper and such but whenever I'm eating by myself I can slurp super loud, eat loudly, eat with hands, etc. AND I LOVE it.

while growing up in 90s we used to have this kind of crockery in homes and shown on Ptv morning shows/dramas. now it is all gone.
