I get this question a lot. I would ask you to not trust any TH-camrs but do the research yourself. Go to naukri.com and search for jobs such as "data analyst", "finance analyst", "supply chain analyst", "data specialist", "SQL analyst" etc. also search using skills "power bi", "tableau" etc. you will find many jobs. Now your friends are right in a sense that as of Dec, 2023 the job market is weak and there are not too many jobs for data analyst position but this doesn't mean people are not getting jobs at all. Every week, I get messages from learners regarding their job success. In the end, you need to look at the job scope in coming years as well not just the absolute time (which is today). Companies are investing big time in analytics projects and I believe the future for data analyst career is bright.
