I’m 74, my canes will outlast me. A good fight will probably kill me, but not my cane. Hoping to make a respectable exit, if it comes that. Love my canes, for my balance.
Steel vs Wood on bone? Hmm.. Both work great. But one lasts longer. 😉😊🤩 For wood, I prefer the Octagonal shaft. Both get 👍👍& 10⭐ for Walking and personal defense, in my book.

Hi James! Thank you for your inquiry. Our records show you ordered and received yours. Here's a link for the Raven Cane without course: americancaneselfdefense.com/product/robaina-raven-self-defense-cane/ - If we can assist with anything else, please call 800-289-8188
I live in Arizona where the temps can get up to 115 degrees. Will an aluminum cane be to hot to hold when outside for awhile? Compared to wood, which wouldn't absorb and retain the heat as much? Thanks...
Great question John- We we’re in Arizona last year, trained outdoors and didn’t have a problem with it. Neither wood, nor Raven should be left in extreme heat. Extreme heat is detrimental to wooden Canes which need to be oiled for maintenance. You can try keeping both in shade when not in use and wearing a leather glove(or other) like Doc does, which protects if it feels too hot.- Hope That helps and thank you!
I’m confused. I’m new here , is a raven the only option in this space or is this just the product you personally sell or are affiliated with? It does seem like something I want but there aren’t too many good sources online that give a break down of what other competing brands are out there, unlike firearms.
Thanks for commenting koZmo! Today there are at least 11 categories of ACSD Canes. The Raven falls in the category of self defense and is still our top seller. Here's a tip: When it comes to Canes for self defense, spinning, training etc there are less than a handful of sources coming from designers/manufacturers who are Caners themelves. That means what sounds good on paper, ends up having some serious functional limitations. The uneducated don't know any better. -The top two Cane Self Defense companies globally are Cane Masters and American Cane Self Defense (ACSD) makers of the Robaina Raven. The easiest way to bring clarity to the topic and have all your questions answered is to schedule your No Cost Cane Clarity Call by textng CCC to 305-745-7839 so you get it right form the onset. Do you guys make self defense walking sticks? with the cane rounded top part? I just don't want to walk around my neighborhood with a cane. I am only 65.!

Good question Abdallah and thanks for commenting.- (Prefacing by stating ACSD does not provide legal advice), and cannot guarantee how TSA will respond to a walking stick or Cane minus J horn design. We believe this to be for the most part a perception issue. For example the way CA law is written concerning, a stick with a rootball for a horn (instead of J) COULD be considered a club or Class 1 weapon equivalent to carrying a nunchaku. The J or "tourist handle" as some have traditionally referred to it, tends to register as a medical device. The manner in which any tool is used and context would be the bottom line which is why verbal skills, awareness, and preventing fires is part of ACSD training.
Is there a Raven with no teeth? I wouldn't mind an Aluminum cane but I want it to not scream SELF-DEFENSE CANE. I'd feel the same about any cane I was going to EDC.
Thank you for commenting and your inquiry John. The Raven does not have teeth. (No ACSD Cane comes with teeth). The Raven has 2 non-abrasive sets of grips top/bottom on the shaft and is the most innocuous looking self protection cane in the ACSD line up. Passes the securtiy test regularly in airports all over the world. Feel free to call 800-289-8188 with any questions. Stay Safe!
Hi Carmelita! If by "notch" you mean Palm Rest? Ravens do not come with palm rests as they are hallow tubing and cannot affix. They feature two sets of hand grips, innocuos looking Horn designed for a quick release response. Still the #1 Self Defense Cane. Thank you for your inquiry and Here When You Need. Stay Safe!
