My wife suffered from pmdd for years. We've tried SSRI, tms, ketamine with short lived relief. I discovered Dr. Achina Stein and here videos of "what if it's not depression" and my wife has been seeing her for about a year now, and it changed our lives. Its all related to inflammation caused by leaky gut syndrome and gluten. My wife is on a gluten free diet along with organic meats and vegetables and certain supplements. She's back to her old self again. I have psoriatic arthritis and it's been a game changer for me also. These issues are all related to inflammation.
I’m really pleased your wife has improved. Inflammation can certainly play a part in many physical and mental health conditions, but I disagree everyone needs to cut out gluten and go organic. ‘Leaky gut syndrome’ is a term made up by functional practitioners and has no evidence base.
I have this exact syptoms 2 weeks before my period, but PMDD symptoms are supposed to go away when you start your period. I have a 7-day cycle, and mine usually goes away on day 4, but it returns shortly after I end my period and lasts 2-3 days afterward. And it's worse than the symptoms I have before my period. Why would this be happening?
I’m dealing with this , I’ve told many drs I get shrugged off like I’m some kind of crazy person , not only do I suffer from this but my period is also always late every month . Until my period comes I’m normal again, I told drs I’m suicidal . No one takes me serious !
I’m so sorry to hear this. Unfortunately, lots of doctors aren’t even aware of the condition, so it is worth asking them to review your symptom diary and ask specifically about it. You could share with them this video!
@@DrSophieGP unfortunately in my country (Australia ) you’re just a number it’s very very hard to find a genuine doctor that really cares about the patient . Thank you Dr for spreading awareness , it could save so many lives 🙏🏼

Yes, this doesn’t sound like it matches the luteal period we expect with PMDD. I suggest you make a mood diary and discuss it with your doctor.
I am experiencing the same....almost same pattern! In my case it's a mix of PMDD and perimenopause making things worse I guess.
@ the hormones can really go haywire then!

A lot of drs don’t understand this disorder , there has to be more done about this before someone takes their lives and then that’s too late
I’ve shared this videos with some GP groups, as I’m keen to build awareness too 👍🏻
@@DrSophieGPthat’s great ! There has to be more awareness around this mental illness 🙏🏼
