For the color coat I would suggest a little more thinner and a little more psi. Ditto with the clear as well. the only time I've experience the cloudy / fogginess is when I spray and the humidity uis high. Hope this helps Your benz is looking Good. I'll be watching

That grainy texture can be lots of things. Paint laid on too thick, or layers spayed too often so it dries uneven. It could also be your air brush isn't dialed in and you are spaying too high of a pressure and causing paint to somewhat dry in the air, or it could mean the opposite and too low of pressure is making your airbrush sputter the paint put so it's blobby instead of laying out smooth.
More often than not it could also mean the thinner you used doesn't clash well with your base coat.
Try to use a rattle can next time, it will rule out if it's your technique to laying the paint out, or if it's your airbrush not being dialed in.

Looks like the paint or primer is to hot. And react against eachother. I prime. Let it sit for at least 24 hours. The sand it light with a sponge, wash it, let it dry. The the colour is use the same brand as the primer and use Mr hobby leveling thinner. Just a few drops. Never a problem with a rought coat. Also the Temperature of your surrounding and paint and the humidity has a bad influence on it. Temp ideal in the house between 20 and 30 degrees celcius. And when you put the bottle or rattle can in handwarm water for 10 minutes helps the flow. The white mist in the clearcoat is to low-to high pressure. Needs more thinning, and try not 1 but 2 light mist coats about 10-15 minutes after eachother. That tackcoat will give more grip to the wetter coast. I prefer light coat over heavy coats, although it consumes more time. Hope i could help you getting better results. BTW nice color for that Benz.

Look at the last video from that bunny car i have put in the Instagram name. Then you can see the result of a rattle can clearcoat without polishing. I will put more pictures on that Instagram. But i am old and not so clever with that kind of things.

@@ScaledGarage thanks i got more but we are in the middle of moving to another house and i am recovering from a heart surgery. Starting hopefully next month again building with a Audi R8 from revell or the Benz AMG 190 or the Mercedes C9 Le Mans car.

Watching you spray, it doesn’t look like the paint is atomising well. I’d say the paint definitely needs more thinning and your pressure should be around 15psi. Also X22 is not a great clear coat. Try Mr GX100. It is far superior.

I’ve been recommended a lot of thinners, what thinner do you think would work best with Mr Gx100?

@@ScaledGarage Mr Levelling thinner, nothing else. It has a retarder in it which is important for the gloss to level out smooth. Mr GX100 is quite thick in the bottle so needs thinning quite a bit. Around 30:70 paint:thinner
