Tak was "Ratchet and Clank" meets "Shrek the game". My nostalgia is never hurt because I was there when what is now considered "old, clunky, poorly designed, dated etc..." was cutting edge, and the new best thing. For a long time 720p was "Ultra HD", today it's barely considered "SD". Of course plenty of things didn't hold up, most modern QOL improvements weren't even invented yet, but that doesn't take away from what they did, when they did it, and how competitive the product was at the time. Poor controls and worse camera angles in platforming were literally considered features until fast paced/tight controlling movement came into style years later. We all knew it, we talked about it, we laughed at how frustrating it was.
We had to do that for Luigis Mansion, as well. A couple of times, we tried to sneakily keep the Gamecube running over night but my mum would always notice. We must've played the beginning of that game for months.
Hey I loved these games. Sure the gameplay had some jank but I was always so captivated by the world and artstyle. They had something there. The tv show could have expanded on that with an epic adventure story like avatar but instead they made that bullshit in 2007
Imo the one thing that aged really well: the graphics. It's one of the most vibrant and colorful games of that generation. The backgrounds in the distance and environments are all so beautiful to look at. The artists and designers had serious talent. I even have the background of the burial grounds as my PC wallpaper
This review is wrong the original Tak trilogy are GOATED 3D platformers especially Tak 2 the Staff of Dreams! Tak is far superior then Ty the Tasmanian Tiger and Sly Cooper in my opinion those are overrated 3D platformers
Im going to have to play this again because I actually remember POJJ being a pretty solid title back in the day. Don't get me wrong I'm sure it did nothing to innovate but the target demographic was children and as a child at the time I did indeed enjoy playing it with my cousins at 2 am trying for the life of us to beat the leaf sledding level
Can't be as bad as HerdieGerdie, sure it was a different concept herding animals to open gates, but its so annoying that I could not get past the bears. I also couldn't tell if I was even making any progress or if there was any point, it just felt like I was doing the same thing over and again. Please tell me HerdieGerdie wasn't just my night-terror, it did exist?
I have wanted to like Tak and the power of Juju for most of my life. I got the game back when it released, did not have allot of fun with it, but I've went back to it every 4-5 years to give it a try one more time thinking "Maybe this time. Maybe this will be the time I get into this game" But I never have.
I remember playing this games demo when magazines used to include physical demo disc's. This game and the downhill domination demos went platinum in my house lol
all that’s valid and all but none of that mattered to me as a kid, I loved this game for the comedy and it’s environment and it’s overall vibe. Back then with platformers I had no concept of jank, it’s just something that felt like was in every kids game. It maybe that I like the vibe n etc or that the nostalgia is just so overpowering for me that when I play this game now I still love every moment of it despite all of it’s frustrations
I just loved the art style and music and it was my first collectathon platformer as a kid plus there were fun characters and great voice actors. Tak 2 hands down the best game they clearly ironed out a lot of kinks from the first one. Id love a remaster but i doubt ill ever see them remake the games.
The third one was the only one I played and it was the best one. Personally loved it. Watched the show. Thought it was boring, but had some funny moments here and there. Nothing too crazy. Just a safe show with stupid jokes. I think they could return to it and rewrite it and make better games and honestly I'd probably end up vibing with it if everything about it was based more around the third game.
It's news to me that anyone has positive memories of Tak and the power of Juju. I remember playing it and thinking it was really boring, and all my friends thought the same.
I have fond “memories” of it. Hell, I was probably like 4 when I played Tak. I just remember liking the art style and jumping around the first level without a single clue on what I was doing. However I tried to play it on dolphin emulator more recently, and it was a snooze.
I work in a kitchen, so I understand that not all people are meant to cook.

Every time me and my brothers played tak and the power of juju we had to start over because we just didn’t have a memory card for our GameCube 💀
Relatable comment 😂

This is so f relatable omg😂

At least those games have better jumps than trashy Tak
@@matthewbraith0411 they don’t but that’s just me Tak has more fluid control
nay their all good i love ty the tasmanian tiger and sly cooper same with tak
what was the one where you were an eqyption emperor kid and you could turn into a mummy I think. I barely remember it
@@deandredunbar9618 no idea what you’re talking about
No mention of the fire soundtrack and lit cutscenes? The music and cutscenes in the great juju challenge were what made me love the game as a kid.

Great juju challenge went super hard, I hated the power of juju and I couldn’t get past the waterfall level of Tak 2
i'm writing a poem about tak and the power of juju and what a bummer to find this video

Tak had his own Nickelodeon TV series. This is fake news lol 😂

This game was/is random, & I would always make fun of my lil cousin for playing this random game & she would attack me 🤣
We grew up playing this game, the memories made and nostalgia will never fade.

My brother and I had so much fun playing this game growing up
its for the best you didn't cover the handheld titles, they are awful, and very forgettable.
I’m replaying tak 1 and two after not playing it for over a decade. Tak 1 is a great game honestly. I’ve been really enjoying it

Never played the games, but i remember seeing the tv spots alot in commercial breaks.

Dr. Muto Was a good game!
It's crazy how far Nintendo was ahead of everyone with their N64 titles. The controls were years ahead of everyone else.
Ayyy I went and got this at blockbuster. I also got vexx at blockbuster
Tak is a great game stop lying 😂
