I just purchased an M1A. The gas plug is so tight. I can't loosen it as if my life depended on it. The manufacturer really tightens it. I do have the M1A tool kit. I don't want to strip it out.
I use the gas cylinder support wrench. I never make it too tight anyway. I bought a used Springfield M1-a and it was super tight. I was afraid of damaging something getting it apart. Real happy with that and a Rock-Ola forged M-14f. Real nice videos.

There is a tool made to hold the assembly when trying to get the plug/screw out. www.mountsplus.com/sadlak-m1a-gas-cylinder-wrench-aluminum.html
I got the gas cylinder support wrench it really helps.
can a rail be clamped on the gas tube for a bipod and it will not affect function? Thanks
Yes it can. Make it snug nut don't over tighten.
@@norwich93CMP okay Thanks
Rear sight tool? To sight assist zeroing??
The flag can be used as a screwdriver on the windage knob.
Do you sell those cleaning kits?
They are easy to get, don't pay over $20.
How is this done on the M1A? Is it similar?
Its the same.
How i love this gun.
I agree!!!
That gas-lock is way to tight, that will put to much pressure on the barrel.
A gas lock puts no pressure on the barrel but it does on the threads.
@@norwich93CMP yes it does . It puts to much pressure on the barrel. Look up Tony ben on TH-cam he will explain it better.
