Hi Aara, thanks for the kind words!! You have a very pretty name by the way. Hey I'm really happy you enjoyed the video, thanks for taking the time to write.
Wow, thanks so much! That's really kind of you to say! Haha I'm just trying to tell the story, and I guess that's when I speak more smoothly and fluently (without pressure :) so I'm glad it's also working for your viewing enjoyment!
Looks so amazing I look forward to being able to take my son on a food tour of the orient to share my experiences as a child. Your videos inspire him to try new foods there and enjoy the blessings of a new culture
Man, that is the greatest thing ever :) It's cool to hear about how your experiences already, and also I am waiting to hear about which things (probably things you didnt expect!) you enjoy the most while you are here!!
Hey, Trey awesome to hear from you, I'm very impressed with this message and Im blessed to hear of your inspiration to come over and see Thailand (and the people, and the awesome food) for yourself!!!
Glad you enjoy it! I am really having fun making these, I feel like it immediately makes my videos look professional (for once :) haha. Thanks for a cool comment!!!
Duuuuuuude Uncle Brian man!!! So good haha, yeah literally the name of the situation IS "Porky Goodness" haha. Hope youre having a happy Monday today!! Thanks very much for the message.
Good Morning Li & Joel and cheers to the entire BruCrew. Happy 2nd Sunday of Advent. Blessings to all & peace be with You! This Auntie's dish looks sensational thanks for sharing this with us. BTW at our favorite supermarket (Publix) a pork tenderloin (probably the best cut of meat) costs US$9.99 for a 1.5 Lb. package (680 grams for Baht 340). Have a wonderful week!
Good morning to you too Ron man, thank you so much :) wow hey thank you for the info about tenderloin! I have never bought this in Thailand but, I just always appreciate the funny (VERY interesting to me, but its so detailed I think some people just get bored... so I dont go into detail in the videos :) but its always funny how Thailand definitely is not just "cheaper than life in the US," but also at the same time there are so many things (like food) where the US is actually cheaper than Thailand! Meat is definitely one case, for example a steak here costs about 5 times more than one in the US (and the portion will be even smaller as well!), but I dont know maybe the fresh salad and/or fruit and/or rice that comes with it will be 5 times cheaper... and in the end, the entire meal might be the same price? Something like that.
Jack mannnnn good morning! Hi, and welcome back, great to see your name man! I REALLY appreciate the recommendation for making your own "Prik Nam Pla,' that is truly genius :) and so doable!!!
This video reminds me of a Frederico Fellini film. You use the editing as a visual to imply just how glorious and marvelous the pork leg, egg, pickled vegetables, rice, chilies and garlic are. To describe the flavor in physical motion. Thai food really is that glorious and graceful.
What a compliment, really incredible you describing with such beautiful words about my editing! I love the imagery of using visual motion to describe the flavor of food - it really is that glorious - and this recipe specifically really deserved a good effort today :) haha. and yes, you're right, pretty much all of Thai food is this way!
Coincidentally I just watched The Roaming Cook review a couple of Kha Khao Mu restaurants in Krung Tep yesterday and the day before. You need to show him this version next time he visits Chiang Mai. Damn that looks good. Appears to be an 11 on a 10 point scale. Damn. I literally just got home from our local Wat's celebration (New Orleans) for Loy Kratong and am stuffed. (You should watch his video on the Shitake Mushroom Kha Khao Mu!)
Hi Barney! Hey welcome back. So, I totally love your enthusiasm, AND yes your rating of this dish is pretty much on point - it was a necessary meal manoeuvre today for sure - thank you for an excellent comment man!!!
This was the first thai food I had on my first trip to TH. I remember ordering it randomly at the Pin klao Tesco Lotus food court. I went for a second round as well 😂. I miss Thailand ❤
Jade you bet, haha thats an awesome way to say it but ok, I guess Khao Ka Moo is a classic for a reason! :) what a place. Jade I hope you're having a good day! thank you again for so many times taking the time to write, to encourage (both of us) - rock on!!
@@JoelsTastyRide I had gotten way too into competitive eating videos and dashcam videos for some reason. I am coming back to wholesome videos like you and Li make. Hope your biking has been going well!!!
Joel and Yanlan my mouth was watering the entire video, so rich, juicy, falling apart pork. Of course Li phylosophy made me laugh but she was quite correct👌love you both, waiting on my tippy toes for another video, safe travels guys❤
OK! Authentic Thai dish series! What haven't you covered yet!?! I guess just within a short distance of the Khao Kaa Moo there's a few places; there's some famouse Sai Uua (Sausage) around there and the Pla (fish) place. It will be fun to see what you find!
Hey hey man! Well, that's a good question... Im not sure I know the answer exactly but, in general, for sure there are still MANY Thai dishes that I have never eaten (maybe even still a few I've never even heard of), I am at about 440 videos right now and I am sure there could be 1000 if I have the tenacity to keep this up another 12 years :)
this is giving me dangerous ideas for a pork leg joint i have in the freezer that would fit in my slow cooker. normally i do s spansih style butter bean chorizo and pork stew, but i think i might rustle something like this up!
I love the description Leetshots, dangerous is totally right :) hey, yeah the color actually is very similar, youre right! This would be just as spiced, but less hot pepper spice (than chorizo, or most Mexican dishes really), but the insane porky-ness would definitely match!
Hi Kou! Yes, of the 4 you mention yes at least once for all of these... and I think rice field rats are great actually, very versatile especially in Thai "jungle" cooking!! I would say growing up in Africa I already ate many "exotic" animals though before I ever came to Thailand. What about you?
@JoelsTastyRide Ooh, good to know. Oh, no way.. Dogs, snakes, rats/mice, and some insects scare me if by seeing whoever eats it.. gives me chill to the body and bones. Will make me vomit, I believe, but I don't know why I'm not scared of bamboo rat ( I haven't tried yet but it look tasty, Ahahaha) and squirrels (I'd eaten before, it's a favorite), turtles, porcupines, frogs and some insects. To my ethnicity, Hmong/Miao in the U.S., Laos, Thailand, China, and Vietnam, these are delicious. I don't know if my ethnicity has eaten other wild animals before: rabbits, iguanas, salamanders, ostriches, alligators, etc. But I know my ethnicity has eaten: monkeys, tigers, snakes, and wild boars, etc. Because I heard throughout stories my ancestors foretold when they still live in Asia.
G'day Joel , Li and hello brewcru, loved this video man, and gotta love the combination of rice and pork , so hood bro. Much love from the troops and I , stay safe, Shine on 👏🙏🤍💯

Holy moly, first time seeing your video, your thai accent and speaking flow just blew my mind, that was almost too perfect.

Rice and deliciously prepared pork….. a perfect match!
I'm with you on that one! 😎 haha JK nice one, somehow "deliciously prepared pork" is just so poetic...
