A friend of mine took me out for the first time using a long tail mud motor. I have never had so much fun going through mud, weeds, and grass. I am now looking at getting a 22hp predator engine and swamp runner kit. But my question is how do you think it would perform on a 14ft fiberglass Terry Bassboat? My friend says he has never used a mud motor on a fiberglass boat.
Fun stuff! My humble opinion is it wouldn't work well on a fiberglass boat, especially a a bass boat. I think you would be disappointed. A 22hp would be best on a 15' or bigger aluminum John boat. The 420cc engine is perfect for a 14' flat bottom just for size reference
The biggest reason a fiberglass boat is less desirable is, they sit to deep in the water, and they are not durable by any means finding a John boat of according size will suit you much better
Every video I seen yall don't put them motors on a big enough boats man would run way better if the boat was wider an u would have more room to turn an all bro
Yeah your right about that, I just like the narrow boats because I can go in tighter places, small creeks and such, I did add some proper grab bars on that boat, it helped a lot
Awesome jump, Bud!
Thanks!!
Hell yes , nice video!
Thanks, good luck on the water!

Thanks, i hear you, Im about to put the outboard back on, and start trotlining the rivers again
OK! I WATCHED YOUR VIDEO! That's some crazy shit but I want one now.
Is this a 12ft Jon boat? I just got a 420 and thinking it’s going to be to big for my lowe 12ft but I also have a swamp runner
I was running 14 36 boat, but I've heard of people putting them on 12s,
How did it go putting the swamprunner together?
What size boat is your buddy using. I’m debating a 18 hp vanguard on my 14-36
I think it's a 14'-40" maybe 42" shallow boat, I wouldn't think you would have any trouble 18hp
What size propeller do you use
I run a nine inch prop
Vanguard is the way to go smooth running engine
Ah yeah they're nice, pricey though
Need a ohshit handle
Is this around bayou deview
Haha yeah I found that out quick, I built one right after that, nah never heard of bayou deview
@@rabbitridgeoutdoors3780 Tenfor,
