Many many years ago I had an EF sedan in high school. It was lowered with some wheels and exhaust. Some idiots stole it so they could strip the stereo system from it leaving the interior and parts of the exterior completely destroyed. Dope car and still miss it often. This build is so beautiful man. Thank you for showing it and preserving this beautiful era of cars.
@@edgardoz19 Depending on if you get a wagovan or crv drive train, it can become pricey after sourcing all the required parts. I'm a little over 3k so far with just trans, driveshaft, rear diff & axles, trailing arms, and subframe. What excites me the most though, is going from that anemic dpfi d15 to a k24 like this gentleman in the video.
Thanks for keeping these older Civics alive! I had an '88 hatch back in the day 😊 Your car is Awesome! Enjoy 🎉 Love the tag.. K24door😂 Too bad you never took us for a drive 😢😢
My first car was a blue 89’ ef hatch that was near factory condition with em1 si wheels and a poormans type r and I highly regret selling it. Rare to find one in such mint condition so I can really appreciate how meticulous you are with this beauty. Hats off sir shes amazing
damn, you can shift real good, even with the stock longer throw shifter. I appreciate this very extensive and detailed review, for a such delicate build. Props to you for the dedication dude.
@@factoryfreak-nz5xy If I had the money laying around, I'd love to build an older sedan. Unfortunately my VQHR G35xs is taking most of my wallet up at the moment. $130 for a new oil cooler line, & I don't know if I can repair the line with permatex or maybe tig welding it. Just the smallest pinhole, & I have to do it myself because it leaks too much to drive to my mechanics house. Maybe I can seal it up enough for a 10 minute drive. Wish my luck! Haha, I also just had to fix the Y-Pipe so I upgraded to a better one of course! $430 for that... Just had the starter go out (nightmare on AWD models) & fixed that, just to mess up my steering rack joint in the process... I got it back in line but I know I will need to fix that in the next year, because it's compromised. All of this after a water pump & gallery gasket fix.... I love cars. 😮💨😂 It's ALL okay though, when I'm driving it & it's doing good. One of the best feelings on Earth, to be honest!
IIRC, nippon racing pistons arent chinese, they are japanese. Nippon is what japan is called in japanese after all. Even if im wrong and they are chinese, they are well proven and theres nothing wrong with them. Eagle has always been a China based foundry, and they produce *generally* good stuff. Just be sure to mic everything out, like you'd do with anything. Even AFR heads made in the US are known to have excessive runout in their valve seats in some batches. Love your build man, this thing is super clean.
The exterior is clean except the hood and well done sir you keep the interior that's oem +. I have 3 ef back in Philippines my jdm 4 door had a b16a on when i bought i swapped it with jdm b18c and my ef hatch b20 vtec now my crx is still have a sohc but i'm just collecting parts to swap it till i come home for vacation next year.
Going to meet you at cars and coffee with my ef, it's nothing special, infact it's pretty clapped. I'm here in Greensboro so I'll trek it out there some day.
Switch the rear sway bar to a 22mm it'll reduce the stiffness and allow you more reaction time in the rears if you lose traction of the rear tires at anytime
I gotta question for ya. So I have the FCS subframe which has no provisions for a front sway bar, so could that also be an issue. FCS told me that EF’s react better without a front sway bar and to “increase the stiffness by 100 pounds in the front springs” what do you think about that
The 24mm especially rear sway bar will bind up too much of the rear because it's the heaviest part of the rear adding on more weight for no performance. There's little to no weight in the rear and all the front suspension including the engine is in the front of the car
nice and clean car broo thanks for the showing the muffler i need the idea like this for my 91 hatch i have lpg fuel system on my car i need the change location of the tank and it needs the far from the exhaust i see ur muffler and its okey for mee thank you so much
All that stuff doesn’t matter really man, they are all the same thing. I have never in my life heard anyone call them ED’s. But thanks for watching man, hope you come back to the honda game
Realstreet has a disclaimer that head does NOT change the compression ratio, yet I still hear it everywhere, mmmmmannnn i hope im ok when i fire my k24 up!!
How do you pass NC emissions, I want to build my K24, as of right now I can detune it and remove flashpro and drive it for 60ml and pass emissions but once I build the head and get injectors I doubt I’ll be able to do that.
I get a discount, but it was way cheaper than most places. They have a $150 minimum, and they prefer non separated hardware, as in not individually bagged. Hit me up on IG for more info @ef_dylan

There is a trick when using a K series and keeping the original center console to keep it looking factory.
Yeah its called a no cut shifter, thats what was in this before and I hated it. Had to go back to this
@@factoryfreak-nz5xy that is a “ method “ but there is a factory way to do it.

Bro what is oil pan clearance like? I’m looking to do a similar build with my hatch but the oil pan clearance is still a concern for me at the moment.
Im on the high mount setting and have tons of room, low mount setting with a 24 is problematic but do-able
Bro out of curiosity is the engine bay the the same length an width as the EF Hatch ? I’m bout to do this swap an im worried about clearance issues.
Many people have dont this swap. U will be find, all u need to worry about is hood clearance
Bro how much did you spend on the build
Hood spacers*

Do you have a link to where you bought the head lights from??
On ebay they are “EDM Single Blub EF headlights. They are around $280 shipped or something like that.
Where in NC are you located? I'm visiting from California and would love to see this car.
Hey man thanks for the love. Not sure Im ready to meet folks from youtube yet haha. But next year I will be at CHD9 in Maryville, Tn!
We need 1/4 track videos
I need some better axles first and then I am down! Probably an 11.98 car if I had to guess
Where did you get the CF hood, any links?
