3:28 Could you not get assigned early before expiration if you're below the strike price? I thought it was the buyer's right to exercise their right to sell the underlying stock as long as it's before the expiration and under the strike price, because you said, by the time the stock is above the strike price before expiration, we're fine.
great question! you can be at risk for early assignment, but in my experience the earliest I was assigned was 4 days before expiration on NVDA puts that were deep in the money.
Definitely using the bollinger bands helped me... waiting for the price to come down 1st and not do csp when price is above the middle band.... be patient and look for a good stock thats is under the middle band
Yes many times. Currently being tested on my 136 and 138 NVDA puts, but i don't mind getting assigned at those prices as I think its going to $180 next year.
In your first example the stock dropped significantly below the short put strikes after a few days. Are you not concerned that it could keep dropping? Do you not have a method to close the losing trade at some degree of loss? Yes in 20-20 hindsight the prices rallied back for a win but it could have continued dropping for a max loss.
For a cash secured put, I will just allow myself to get assigned as I want the stock at a discount. For a bull put spread, you can definitely manage early if you'd like. I personally like to wait until last week of expiration to allow the stock to come back. If i'm already at max loss of -$400, I just take the L or roll the position down and out in time to hopefully recoup the loss.
I like these videos Ryan. I have a couple questions though, like do you consider the Beta of a stock when deciding whether to sell puts at 25 or 35 delta? Also, if you've sold a put, and for some reason, maybe an accounting issue at the underlying accompany, or a black swan event that drops most of the market, do you ever think rolling the put to a later expiration date and even a lower strike may be better than taking assignment? Thanks, and keep up the good work!
I appreciate the support! yes I do consider the beta of the stock as well as how much I believe in the company. NVDA i might go closer to 25 delta just because of the volatility to not get assigned as often, versus QQQ i may go 35 delta. If black swan happens, I only roll if I can collect enough premium to cover the loss. If not, I will just get assigned.
The examples you provided I understand are for simplicity and teaching. However these situations are overly positive and may set the wrong expectations for newbies. What if the price drops and doesn’t recover for a long time? What do you do then? Roll the trade down, and if so by how much and how far out? Exit at a loss, and if so what are your rules for that? Or bag hold with no options return for potentially months, given you said you don’t sell calls under your cost basis? Managing risk is something I rarely see on these types of videos, but it’s by far the most important factor. Thanks, you are a great teacher, and I think a video on this, how you plan for completely unexpected events, and your mindset when you go through them would be great (and unique) content and I would be genuinely interested how you deal with these scenarios.
@@quiztopics7395 you can like your own comments all you want but like I said everything ain't for everybody. This kind of trade is for a more seasoned trader not some new who doesn't understand risk management, some of y'all come on TH-cam and comment just to be right. Have you ever thought some yt make videos for certain kind of people? It's not his job to provide all of that information because then it would be financial advice and we'd start seeing comments blaming him for screwing up people's trade's. Once again everything ain't for everybody, running the wheel strategy is one of those things
At 6:15 you say there was a bear market in 2023 and 2024. What market was that? Definitely not the US stock market. And I’m pretty sure you didn’t come up with the wheel strategy 😂.
You didn't invent the wheel strategy, it existed well before you were born. You implied that you make $100k off of these short term plays, but the screen you showed showed a good part of that $100k was from long-term gains. Well holding good shares is a good method too.
Hello, how did you achieve such biweekly returns? I'm a newbie and I've lost a lot of money investing on my own. Please can you advise on how to go about this?
As a beginner investor, it's essential for you to have a mentor to keep you accountable. Nancy Williams Laplace is my trade analyst, she has guided me to identify key market trends, pinpointed strategic entry points, and provided risk assessment, ensuring my trades decisions align with market dynamics for optimal returns.
Ms NANCY was my hope during the 'bear summer last year. I did so many mistakes but also learned so much from it, and of course from Nancy. she is my number one Source when it comes to crypto and TA🎉🎉🎉
I've been looking into cryptocurrency investments, but I'm still unsure about the best and safest way to go about it. Any advice or insights you could share?
believe the Bitcoin ETF will be life changing opportunity with my current portfolio of 132k made from my investments with my personal financial advisor < Mrs Grace > I totally agree with you

Can you explain how you enter a short position after having exited your put position? ( Video index 3:50) That is confusing...
either bear call spreads or covered calls against longer term stock position.
