Now 7 years later! A very good, basic and well thought out set up a beginner might aspire to, nothing fancy but practical, liked the exhaust steam collector. Good work. Thanks.
Hi, please i'm renovating a stuart 501 live steam boiler like yours. I bought the boiler used without all fittings, i would to buy them on the stuart site to complete my boiler. I see there are 6 trheaded holes in my boiler ( 2 on the top and 4 in the frontal face) and they are different in diameter and probably in TPI. Could you tell me every fitting what thread must have ? Thank you and beautiful work !
Very nice Stuart engine! Have you repainted it? In another Video of your S 50 the flywheel is still in red colour... or is this another engine? Cheers Adrian
Had to come back and watch it again. I enjoyed it every bit as much as I did a year ago. Thanks again for publishing your Stuart 501/S-50 rig.
To me that is absolutely stunning - thanks very much for making and posting the video.
Regards, Aladair
What a Beautiful engine, I collect PM Research and Jensen. Both are fabulous would love a Stuart one day.

I know it is a while ago you made this video I just had to say how much I enjoyed it. them Stuart boilers are great, I use my 504 for all sorts
What a great running engine!
Looks great too!
Thats a great setup, John. Really enjoyed this video. :-)
Very nice Stuart S50 though as you say crankshaft speeds are much better than thrashing the engine flat out !
Nice work!
Thanks, Gil.
I've got one of Geoff's (ozsteamdemon) chuff pots arriving soon all the way from Oz. Should look great with this setup. :)
Very nice! What type of material is the main steam line tubing made of?
It's some thick-walled silicone tubing I found on eBay. Works well at low to medium pressure.

You need to buy or make a boiler feed pump to pipe up to the boiler top up clack/check valve then it can be kept in steam.
Okay, I just watched the video till the end... - Yes, you have painted it :-)
Sweet!
