Limelight, Mars, Big City Diner, Expo, Tunnel, USA, Sound Factory old and new Twilio, Palladium, Brooklyn Rave, NASA, Ibizza, Tel-Aviv..... so many more keep popping into my head, what a fucking trip it was to live in those days... the best days... thanks for the memories!
It sounds like a happy hardcore track. It’s a little too fast for me. I do agree that it needs to be sped up a bit and most DJs did play it faster in their sets.
This takes me back to Arena @ Palladium, sunday morning, 'round 9 or 10 am, ca. 1997, Junior at the top of his game. For at least two years, he played this track during most of his dj sets.
ironically, Junior basically despised being in an engineering studio; the idea of facing his records which were being held prisoner in some Long Island storage unit. Thousands upon thousands of CLASSIC couture...Junior somehow managed to remix some of the dopest and club floor killing tracks (much to the shagrin of madonna, Mary j. Blige, and that emotional rollercoaster chick ... junior tried to wreck her performance at EXIT, which was a dark time for partiers in new York city... the clubs, as this song laments, 'when I'm falling, weak and dying...' lets hope the absolute magic of that era remains in the fondest memories of thousands of gen X aka last bad ass generation, trust! anyways, junior, I once told you I actually like you more than your music, mystified by the voracious and cultish following of rabid Junior soldiers, loyal til the inevitable end. but what a time, and what an ending it was....
Time has changed ... those days are something awsome inside that will never go away and every once in a while you back to the music and the hair stand up and say yeah !! That’s what I’m talking about !!
good luck grasshopper frishdawg . u will never find a dj like jr ..he started this shit and ruled nyc like no one will never rule nyc again....junior is the icon of house in nyc FACT
PERFECT REMIX? I can't find one flaw... Unbelievable remix by the LEGEND. So overlooked & underrated... I have never seen a DJ work a crowd like Junior!
Junior, I miss you so,--so ,--much!!!!! I dont know,what to write,----because -'-this. Music -- this,Music of your's ----: makes me speechless-----HAPPY ---''and, Content.
If there's anywhere that Dan Haseltine's vocals absolutely DO NOT belong, it's a sweat-drenched peak-time house set. I could sorta see why this was a minor club hit-if I suddenly forget all the other far superior funky/'tribal' bangers of the period. My god, this is some serious C-tier stuff. Y'all must've dropped one too many pills back in the day, huh?
It's "LIFT" me up.. :) The original lyrics below, except JR took out the "lift me up" and made sample which is all over the remix. Lift me up when I'm falling Lift me up I'm weak and I'm dying Lift me up I need you to hold me Lift me up and keep me from drowning again
I feel bad for people who never ventured out of their safe zones to experience club music and club culture. You have no idea how this version of an OK song reached and touched so many who would never, ever think to listen to a Christian rock band like Jars of Clay.
I’m guessing you’ve never gone out and just danced all night . in a club several thousand people, No cell phones no distractions just let loose. You should give it try. Don’t think there are any places like arena left. Sad .
@@vincestyles1030 the dude ain't a loser. House music probably isn't his thing. To people like us it's a spiritual thing that not everyone understands brother. My journey started in 89 my first time at limelight and I've been going strong ever since

Thats all right man, Junior was sophisticated... like classical music, it takes a refine hearing, not for everyone.
