The new Hitman series is a great game, but somehow I don't feel the same charm like I did with Silent Assassin, Contracts or Blood Money. Apart from Jesper Kyd, I don't know the reason why exactly
Could be that there’s more missions that are smaller but more creative than one huge map with 1000 of challenges. And the soundtrack as well is a huge downgrade from the older games. I like the newer hitman games they’re cool but using the same map over and over compared to using different maps like contracts and blood money and I’d even argue this games missions are def better IMO.
For me, the devil is in the details. The old games always made a focused attempt to put you in control of the character. Most actions performed in the new games are done by clicking a button in close proximity to the object or target. Previously, you'd equip the fiberwire and see 47 emphasise the action of stretching out the wire, before killing a victim, with various different animations for the strangulation. It creates a subtle increase in suspense when trying not to get your cover blown. We'd also hear native languages when travelling around the world in Codename 47 and Silent Assassin which is replaced with fairly generic American English across the board of the missions in the recent instalments. Depending on how you philosophise Agent 47's character, to me, it breaks immersion that he somehow recognises most languages and accents, while not previously being able to. I assume it was done in order to accommodate their new approach to points of interest in the gameplay. Basically, some debatable details, depending on how you want to experience Hitman. I'd like them to explore notoriety as a concept once more, and do it properly. I like how Blood Money proposed the idea of the newspaper with details of the crime and your level of notoriety having effect. This was, of course, under-cooked to say the least but it had potential. I've just played through Hitman 2016 for the first time and I'm delving into Hitman 2 right now, so this is just my first impressions of the new trilogy. These new games do a lot of things right and I'm sure the next game is going to refine the experience even more. In the end, this franchise is still going great with interesting new design approaches with every new release.
The current Hitman series is the best IOI have ever developed. I notice people still constantly overate Blood Money as if it's the best in the series, but I still think Contracts is better than Blood Money in terms of the old series. I do miss Jesper Kyd's scores though, and that's the one thing the current series can't beat are the old soundtracks.
I think they learned a lot from their early games and made a solid product that has many fun tricks. I also think the sandbox style is cool because of how diverse some locations can get, like Miami having a lab area. Paris having an arms deal in addition to the obvious show. I can also have my hand held for set piece kills or just DIY my hits
I love the speedrun in Shogun Showdown, I had seen a similar shape but with this one you don't have to go up above, good job, this is my favorite Hitman of the sague.
for everyone saying this isnt legit, or he cheated, just dont understand the game and its AI and mechanics, this game was made in 2002, there are alot of things that are wonky and goofy whether its the AIs or just the way the levels and rating system works, this guy made an impressive speedrun, which is not in any way easy at all, this game needs to be played and the AI needs to be studied for HOURS upon HOURS to pull off something as impressive as this speedrun, kudos to you kennert.

i dont think its necessarily bad level design but just the way AI works on these levels. these are def the worst maps in the series, except shogun showdown that one is decent, but it just makes u wanna say “why arent they checking those guards IDs or why cant i check YOUR ID” 😂😂
@@n8ivballer248 You make a good point, the AI is so inconsistent, it's painful. you can walk the exact same route every single time, yet get a different outcome eevrytime. This applies to the whole game, not only to the Japan levels imo.
in the mission "The Jacuzzi Job" if two silverballers are in the hands, the figurine rises without animation. I'm not sure but it will probably be faster than using a card
If you still want to know: If you are getting shot at it counts as having your cover blown which for some reason is called "close entcounters" in the end stat screen. Like alerts and non target kills you are allowed to have one and still get silent assassin.
Hi Kennert, thanks for uploading. I've just gotten into speedrunning, starting with this game because I love it so much. I always get spotted by these soldiers, so I cannot take the soldier uniform you use to get into the building. Any help would be much appreciated! Thanks!
at 2:22 i recommend trying to stay closer to the right wall then it should be less likely they see you, for the uniform you should do the strat in my older runs because then the guards spotting you doesn't matter as much
It blows my mind to see someone beat this game so fast and easy. I had so much trouble with the Japan missions back in the day.
Japanese mission is the hardest part of this game whatever I'm believe to him.
