I wouldn't have taken Peter for a siamise man. But a cat man most assuredly. Back in the days when my travel schedule looked like Peter's, a cat was the purrfect pet companion. I could "litter-ally" leave my cat for a whole week with a big bowl of food, a big bowl of water (and a raised toilet seat just in case) and he would be fine for up to a week. I had an old Connectix Quik Cam that I set for time lapse the first few trips just to make sure everything was as it should be.
Peter needs to get updated on his battery knowledge by reading the X-Change: Battery report. Every time we have hit a critical mineral barrier, we have developed a technology that bypass it by using more abundant materials and also bring prices down. The most recent examples are LFPs to avoid Cobalt (which is now standard in stationary storage) and now Sodium ion to bypass Lithium, these are already in Chinese cars and soon in European cars
@@Kissypooh It does if the government won't let you drive it and makes you keep it plugged in as a grid power storage node. If everyone is forced to use electric vehicles and the government has the final say on whether they go on the road today or not -- That would make a dandy distributed storage system. This is not as far-fetched as some might think, considering the necessity for computerization and connectivity of such cars. And the world in general.
Consider the subject of magnets in this grand scheme of all things EV as they require rare earths and they are complex to refine. Last I checked, China owns nearly 100% of the global refining for such rare earths related to magnets used in high efficiency motors.
I know that shale is obviously a growing field but how long will it be a key industry if America keeps pushing until the green revolution? Peter mentions partner of fuel but even green tech becomes ubiquitous we won’t be pumping out shale as much as before
First of all @Peter get well soon. Second, it is always strange, when You talk about how well the U.S. is doing economically in terms of fossil fuels, while at the same time completely disregarding the utter devastation, the oil and coal industry has wreaked on the environment in the U.S. From leaking pipelines, to ship-wrecks, to chemicals just dumped anywhere nobody is looking to whole drilling platforms burning in the ocean around the coast. This way, of course the U.S. is producing cheap energy. Just one day, the bill will be handed in in terms of health effects, not only to humans living there, but also the food crops produced, the farm animals herded and just plain water for the population being well and truly poisoned. Of course, no U.S. government will ever make the polluters pay for the damage - so, the price will ultimately - in typical U.S. style be paid by the consumers in the U.S., certainly not by big oil or pharma or agriculture companies. just sayin'
" while at the same time completely disregarding the utter devastation, the oil and coal industry has wreaked on the environment" There hasn't been "utter devastation". "Just one day, the bill will be handed in in terms of health effects," The health benefits of access to cheap and reliable energy are far greater than their costs. "Of course, no U.S. government will ever make the polluters pay for the damage " Indeed. It doesn't make sense to pursue a punitive policy that ultimately results in consumers being penalized with higher prices and more scarce supply. Sounds like you're wanting to wreck everything that makes the US standard of living possible.
The problem with continuing to use gas for "partner" for backup capacity is that the gas wells produce gas at a more constant rate. They need a constant customer. It's not a good economic pairing unless you have low rate production paired with LNG or pressurized gas storage facilities (expensive) to handle peak demands. I would guess that pumped hydro or other electric storage facilities would make more economic sense.
Yes....and since we started exporting our prices at home here has quadrupled in price.. the start of drilling was to ease the price of LNG ..we Americans are getting ripped off by our own suppliers

Tony Seba is bullish on grid scale batteries.
A car doesn’t make a grid.
@@Kissypooh Search, Tesla megapack Hawaii
Thank you for all your updates and your flexibility. Good health for you!

I know that shale is obviously a growing field but how long will it be a key industry if America keeps pushing until the green revolution? Peter mentions partner of fuel but even green tech becomes ubiquitous we won’t be pumping out shale as much as before
Profound analysis as always.

Wouldn't burning natural gas be better than burning a bunch of coal?
Peter, so I should hang onto my families mineral rights in Pennsylvania? Even if the prices are not going to go up anytime soon?
Interesting article
Of course, no U.S. government will ever make the polluters pay for the damage - so, the price will ultimately - in typical U.S. style be paid by the consumers in the U.S., certainly not by big oil or pharma or agriculture companies. just sayin'
" while at the same time completely disregarding the utter devastation, the oil and coal industry has wreaked on the environment"
There hasn't been "utter devastation".
"Just one day, the bill will be handed in in terms of health effects,"
The health benefits of access to cheap and reliable energy are far greater than their costs.
"Of course, no U.S. government will ever make the polluters pay for the damage "
Indeed. It doesn't make sense to pursue a punitive policy that ultimately results in consumers being penalized with higher prices and more scarce supply.
Sounds like you're wanting to wreck everything that makes the US standard of living possible.
Obesity wrecks more havoc on Americans than oil production
Boy, talk about drinking the corporate kool-aid 👆🏼👆🏼👆🏼
Your ignorance is astounding.
@@ChrisCrossAplsauce Talk about ignoring the standard of living that cheap and reliable energy bring compared to the alternative.

How does the DXY affect NG prices? I would think as the dollar DXY goes down so will the price of NG? Do I have that right?
The problem with continuing to use gas for "partner" for backup capacity is that the gas wells produce gas at a more constant rate. They need a constant customer. It's not a good economic pairing unless you have low rate production paired with LNG or pressurized gas storage facilities (expensive) to handle peak demands. I would guess that pumped hydro or other electric storage facilities would make more economic sense.
This is pretty spot on.
Yes....and since we started exporting our prices at home here has quadrupled in price.. the start of drilling was to ease the price of LNG ..we Americans are getting ripped off by our own suppliers
Great video!
