Spent hours on 1200s when i left school this seems a nice working example never came across one with a turbo kit fitted like this one i bet it pulls like a train
Is it possible to convert it to 540 Dan? I know very little about the 1200 but presumed it's a case of changing the shaft but I'm guessing not? Could you do a talk about the controls and gears at some point? Take care
Theoretically could be converted but would be a massive job inside the gearbox underneath the cab. A few were fitted with external reduction gearboxes but they're pretty rare.
@@CowfarmerDan Our 2wd 1100 bought new in 1969 had both 540rpm and 1000 rpm PTO and was supplied with 2 separate stub shafts, 1 6 spline for the 540 and 1 21 spline for the 1000
Great video as always and I was lucky to drive one of those machines in late 80,s ploughing. It was one 1st jobs I did!
Great video dan, good to see a classic at work.
Keep making videos love watching them!
Nice to see the 1200 at work Dan 😎👍

I'm suprised how well she managed that Dan! She must have some fair torque in her and why on earth did they only have a 1000 pto?!
My theory is they were 1000 rpm because that was the only way to make 100 series parts handle the power from the 6 cylinder engine.
Loved the video could you please do a machinery tour
👍👌🇨🇦❤, please educate me on why you use a flsil mower and the benefits of using one, gr8 video
The benefit of a flail are it smashes the weeds up so the seeds die, if you just cut thistles with a normal mower the seeds can still be viable.
@@CowfarmerDan Thank you Dan for answering, very informative educational channel, 👍
Hello Dan it has been a while since I have talk to you about my 1200 Do you have to engage the clutch to put the PTO in
No, it's independent so hydraulically engaged.
Hi Dan nice video weren’t most tractors back in the day PTOs rated at a thousand? Nice to see old tractors at work .
I thought the 1200 was one of the first tractors with an 1000rpm pto
No, 540 was the norm then.

Fantastic 👍 👍
recherche 1200
She wouldn't be usin much diesel runnin like that 🤔 engine sounded well 👍👍
👍
Farmer Phil has a1200 he is looking for lift arm kit for it
Yes, we have been in touch about it.
The visibility must be terrible in that for looking behind
It's a long way back but not terrible, you can see both ends of the topper, you can't do that on a normal tractor.
