Do you all realize how hard it is to learn an instrument? Especially the flute? He honed his craft so well he was able to make an entire album. Let's give 3 Stacks a round of applause for that.

The flute is one of the easiest instruments to learn stop glazing. Bro gave up on rapping cause he is lost. Erica Badu did a number on him lol and he doesn't know where he belongs. Your not understanding what Wayne is saying. Wayne isn't saying he should keep rapping, he's saying artist shouldn't feel ashamed of being 40 and talking about shit that you wouldn't normally hear about. Andre is judging himself and saying that because of his age something won't work. Y'all are stupid if you think Lil Wayne is calling Andre out, he's just speaking some real shit.

Personally I think a majority of rap fans are entitled and selfish when it comes to certain rappers music. Andre gave us so much in hip hop and now it’s time for him to just enjoy what he wants to do musically. This conversation is pointless and we should be happy he’s healthy and enjoying life. If you don’t like his new direction it’s cool but don’t get mad at him for choosing his new path.

Gave us so much? Where? 😂😂😂 17 years since his last solo album before this and a guest feature what once every four years? I’m not saying he should put his life on hold to satisfy fans or even that we deserve that from him. Just don’t make it seem like his been this machine constantly at work since his debut

Let's not act like he's the only one who could be called a great artist, just putting down every single artist of his era to glorify him like how people do with Tupac and Biggie. Also hip hop is the only genre that forces their artist ti have to rap about guns drugs money and hoes to be successful. Few artist can stray from that without being called corny. Especially in this new generation who thinks its cool to be disrespectful to everyone. At 41 Andre isnt in the streets. He is a mature man who has grown up. He isnt doing drugs nor selling it. He isnt toting guns. He doesnt care about hoes. In todays climate what would he rap about? Why cant he make music for a different genre? Even when he made the Love Below album and Speaker Box with Big Boi like 20 years ago, Andre's album was a completely different concept and had everything from jazz, funk, R&B, and other instrumental parts in between. Andre was and still is one of my favorite rappers and I'm glad I got to see them live back in 2002. Its about vibrations and what we vibrate at. André is in a spiritual stage of his life. There is very little you want or need when you reach a certain stage in life. He's not trying to be relevant but searching his soul for joy. He didn't get that joy from rap but he is from the flute and that is more important. Thats what life is about. Finding joy.

That Killer Mike feature was INSANE. And honestly, that was enough for me for a while. If he wants to drop a couple songs or a small EP, cool, but i dont think a full album of just Andre would be as well received as people think. And this is coming from someone who has him in their Top 10. But i understand that his sound is something that works in small bursts, not full albums. An outkast EP would be dope, but that's about as far as I see it going.

Plenty to talk about. Pretty sure he just doesn’t want to rap. That’s fine but keep it clear and honest. Same reason I say lay off drake. Ppl telling him he too old to be rapping how he is, but he just stays adapting and in touch with popular music.

Atlanta rap, as I understand, is more about the community around rap than the music itself. We only hear the music but there is so much more going on with the artists than what they release. In my opinion the community that 3K grew up with no longer exists so he doesnt have the same motivations to rap as he used to. Lil Wayne on the other hand seems like an artist who can create in any environment. if he doesnt have a community around him he'll create one. Great video and I appreciate you encouraging people to think critically about the decisions artists make

Bro I’ve said this on various social media platforms over the past few weeks, folks have to stop trying to put a crown on 3k that he clearly doesn’t want to wear. That’s the exact reason I can’t put him in any top tier list of mine. For one he might have skill but he’s been out worked by plenty of other rappers both bigger and smaller than him who deserve that recognition over him. And 2 I’m not going to give someone a title if they don’t want it. There’s too much good music and too many artists out here who put in that work and want that recognition from their fans and peers. Let 3k live his life the way he wants. He doesn’t want this rap shit. Let it go. He feels he’s not worthy of the throne and he keeps telling yall to put someone in that seat and folks don’t want to accept it

That’s the problem with hip-hop we don’t respect our legends when they drop new music. Why do you think these new rappers ain’t selling that well right now like there’s no substance there’s no lyricism and there ain’t no deep record no more. all these new rappers care about is TikTok hits. Most of these new rappers don’t even perform their songs just look the crowd does it for them and that’s not good for me so for you to say that Andre is right don’t give me wrong Andre 3000 is one of the greatest lyricist of all time but I feel like he’s wrong in the regard of saying that he’s not “hip” no more, I guarantee you if Andre drops a album With nothing but him rapping on it a lot of his hard-core fans would listen to it in a heartbeat and I guarantee you he will sell way more than these new rappers are right now, so Wayne is right in that regard when it comes to that because if you think about it, look at all of the other genres like country, R&B, rock ‘n’ roll Soon as they drop new albums, their legends still sell out they still doing stadium tours and all that but somehow hip-hop legends can’t, nah I don’t like that 🤷🏾‍♂️💯

It's the mindset of Andre. he's on a deeper more "enlightened" path of maturity. A particular artist he is... He wants to evolve as a human being and as black man in america. That will reflect only in his approach to the creative arts.
Also how can he makes his rhyming elevation RELATABLE AND MARKETABLE...TO THE YOUTH!!! in order the change or shift the consciousness in america...particularly black america. YOUNG BLACK AMERICA?!?!? Because look at todays rap music.
The only hope we have now from young people in Hip Hop Culture and Rap Music as the byproduct of the culture... Our hope lives on with Coast Contra.
So... 3K decided to bow out gracefully... And do his own thing.
Besides.... the world is left with a body of work from 1993 as an artist to teach the youth every morning while dropping the kids off at school.
But kids want Trap and Drill music. The only value that bring is the rising costs in daycare and funeral expenses.
