I feel the SLS format changed because of Malto. Malto figured out the system and it use to be based on consistency and Malto had it. Wasn’t the most fashionable champion, but he did what he needed to do He did above average tricks every go and then they wanted to change it up and take away the line section and consistency section because that’s where his points were racking up.
Ahh, dude. This is so much better than the actual video. The video is chill, the annoying announcers are gone, the talking is gone, the commercials are gone, and lastly, just all skate footage.
@fossegrim91 That's your point of view. he obviously deserved to win if he won. He put so many tricks down that hand rail. The bigger you go the more points you get. The cleaner you land the more points you get. In my opinion he definitely deserved to win it ;) He really isn't boring to watch either watch "best of sean malto 2011" makes me get off my computer and go skate every time
people that are saying that Sean Malto shouldn't have won don't know what they are talking about. street league is all about how consistent you are, since you are scored on every trick you do. for that reason Sean Malto was the clear winner. if it were a best trick contest or something similar, then you would have a point!
I wish I could give money to all these guys, I don't even look at who won I just watch these amazing dudes come out and just have fun with it. Also I hope to ollie a stair like that let alone back three boardslide it. xD
SLS isn't always about the tricks. Tricks are maybe 40% of the contest, consistency is a majority of it. That explains Malto's win here and at Ontario that first year. People will always continue to say he's wack, but he's the one with the money and the SLS championship ring. X-Games? A good skater is consistent, not just who does the best trick. Might as well just be a best trick contest like they have everywhere else. This is WAY more exciting.
Chris Cole would have won it if he landed 2:53. Sean Malto won it because of his consistency, he didnt miss a trick after the first section so i think he deserves it i mean if i could over crook all that stuff with all that pressure that would be awesome so well done SEAN MALTO CONGRATS!!!
Sean Malto landed so many tricks and he landed them very clean and he deserved to win. But Chaz Ortiz and Chris Cole had WAY more impressive tricks under their belt.
Malto and Shane O'Neil are the kings of tech and steeze, Sheckler is the shit when it comes to going big, and Chris Cole and Nyjah Huston are fucking legends.
@starscottpwn I never said Sean Maltos tricks were necessarily "easy". I said they are a lot easier then what the other guys are trying. It's all good though, because in a contest like this it works when the other guys are bailing the "harder" stuff.
@iGetsLucky Agreed.Malto played it very safe in his wins..although i know playing it safe is his tactic, but why didn't all the scores from all the contests be counted lol, makes no sense.Huston was killing it,so was Chris cole.
i think what they mean is: sean malto is a great skater, but he doesn't do spectacular tricks, the others are trying in the contest. He does safe tricks and the judges give him a good score.
It's actually not safe at all, landing all those tricks on a row is unreal, the nose grind nollie flip out was awesome and I'm 100% sure none of you could land all of those tricks so consistently... pros make it look easy
chris cole deserved to win. to be honest I think most of the pros could've done the half dozen variations of a nose grind/crooked grind that malto did the whole time to win it....
Malto's conservative strategy paid off in the end. Tough break for Nyjah. Had had he made one of the few bails he had, he would have won. At least he went out strong with 2nd place. Congrats to Malto, though. I'm glad to see he won with the comeback story. Although I will say that the format sucked. Nyjah got screwed because he really was the total points leader and Malto really deserved to win what should be "Stop 4." Congrats to both of them, though.
Nyjah should have been the overall winner. The whole system was janked. I'm happy for Malto, but he should have only won this "stop." It's a shame that Nyjah had to settle for second after being the points leader. Malto does play it safe, but most of his tricks are above average. Nollie into anything is a little more difficult than a regular (which a lot of the skaters do.) It's working for him. It's about strategy, not necessarily just banging hammers. You get judged on EVERY go.
A nollie Crooked grind is harder then a switch board slide and notice in most of the contest Prod lands 3 of his 7 bangers and only get 8.0 on each where malto lands 7 out of 7 mid range tricks and getss 6.5 on each of course he will win its a strategy event not like x-games where u need to let it rip.
wow dude killed it at the end.. consistency was the key for the win.. amazing
Almost nine years posted this video and the fisrt song is Real estate - Old folks

I was rooting for Cole and I really wanted him to win, but Sean has such a solid style and he deserves that win.
Chris cole deserved to win
He was 10 points ahead of everyone and took the biggest reward. Period.
first song !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
funny that malto's "safe route" is composed of tricks you could only dream of doing
malto landed every single try in the big section. respect Bro!!!
270 boardslide 270 out...wtf
malto stop it with the nosegrinds
He does nosegrinds because he wants/likes that, not the company's or fans. he skates for fun not for money.

probably because prod bailed half his tries just to land the trick
I wish I could give money to all these guys, I don't even look at who won I just watch these amazing dudes come out and just have fun with it. Also I hope to ollie a stair like that let alone back three boardslide it. xD

"Ryan Shecklar"? Have I been spelling it wrong all those years. Sheckler/Shecklar?

i dont know why they gavev it to malto, cole should have won, or maybe nyjah didnt congragulate him because nyjah spanked that ass and got ripped off.

I wish Cole had landed his switch 360 frontside flip down the 5 that was more like a drop.
Nyjah should have been the overall winner. The whole system was janked. I'm happy for Malto, but he should have only won this "stop." It's a shame that Nyjah had to settle for second after being the points leader.
