      Dice setting is like bowling. You can have the perfect back swing, throw, spin, hit it right in the pocket and still leave a solid seven pin still standing.

    A quick thing about dice setting, the number you see on top of the dice plus the number on the bottom will always equal 7. So if a die is showing a 5 you know that on the bottom is a 2. Helps you find your number faster when setting.

    Be a generous tipper with the dealers !!! On good wins throw them a little something. If I'm having a good roll, I'll match my pass line bet with a dealer bet and even add odds. Now the dealers are in the game. All of a sudden, dice setting and that back wall aren't as big of a deal. Now they want you to win. I've even had several stick men flip the dice to whatever set I'm using when they push me the dice, not because I set slow, but as a courtesy. Money talks.

    The eye level rule is for game protection. If the dealer looks up, they can't see the money on the game any more and it's easier to do something illegal at that point. You don't always have a full crew.

    My whole thing with dice setting and sharp shooting / advantage shooting is - rooted in being an athlete (d1 rassling & jits) - is kind of like golfing / teeing off or hitting the perfect double leg. Since throwing the dice via a dice set is an athletic-type motion, that if you were able to control your motion in a replicate-able, practice toss, you COULD in THEORY control the dice. It will take hella practice, just like driving off tee to shoot straight shot - the slightest error in grip can slice / hook (golf) // off-axis spin... you can in theory hit the gators at right enough to pass the rule and to AVOID throwing the sev.
    I know its like super unlikely you'll hit holes in 1, but it doesn't stop you from practicing at the driving range AND its the only place that athletics plays a factor in the casino. Which I like.
    Good luck!

    • @aebalc
      @aebalc 3 ปีที่แล้ว

      I know this is picky but I would not call that athletics but rather having repeatable mechanics. I refuse to call them, 250 pound old men smoking their Camel cigarettes and staring at the cocktail waitresses like a creep, athletes.

      And after all those false rolls I bet they blasted them bones cross table. I do false rolls when I get the dice at the beginning. Meaning from the five I have to choose from. Never again afterward. I do it to see how bouncy the table is and to make sure all hands are up. You know that last minute better. Also during my turn I make sure to be the last one to make a bet. Again just to be sure that all hands are up. As far as setting the dice goes(timing) I’m quick to do. Just saying I cannot stand hands in the play zone. I’ve even barked “Dice Out” just to get hands up.

He didn’t get hurt but he was plainly shocked for a good long moment… like WTH just happened??? I apologized profusely and offered to buy him a drink of course.
    For the rest my time at that table when it would come back to me the staff would call out “new shooter… cover your face” or “coming out…, protect your eyes!”, etc. It lightened up the mood a lot and

    Dice setters are the most annoying people to play with by far and I hate when the dealers don't call them out on it. First of all, 99% of dice setting doesn't work. All it does is slow the game down. Even worse is when someone spends a full minute rubbing the table and setting the dice and then just hucks them at the far wall without even trying to do a controlled spin. Like, at that point you're just as random as everyone else but you wasted all our time.

      Watch you're money after the roll, I've had chips come up missing... Know where you're chips are placed and watch them, if they come up missing the house won't replace rhem... Also you need to know how much you won, just because they slap a couple chips down doesn't mean that's correct, be aware of what you won...

    At Mohegan Sun (Connecticut) I once saw a pit boss get on a player for blowing on the dice, claiming that the player was spitting on the dice. This was nonsense, the guy was a jerk, but it really turned into a scene when other players came to the shooter’s defense. Only in the northeast.

      At Mohegan last year i went to toss the dice and the dealer on the end next to me stuck her arm out and interfered with my throw, one die dropped straight down the other one dribbled in front of the pit boss it was a 7 i protested claiming the dealer interfered obviously everyone saw it, i then said both dice never hit the back wall they said when the dice leave your hand it is on....... I scooped up my chips and left they care less,

      Hello I set my dice. So now you’ve heard from a dice setter. 😜 if you’re wanting to learn, it’s nothing more than practice. Let’s say you don’t have a table to practice on. No problem. Go to Michael or hobby lobby and get you a piece of foam called egg crate. Cut it to fit inside a 3-4 inch tall cardboard box. Box should be about the size of a shoe box. Line the long inside with the foam. That gives you the random chance witch we really don’t care about at this time. Set box on kitchen table and hopefully up against the wall. Toss from other end of table into the box. It’s practice at this point. Try to toss the dice to die quickly inside the box and keeping in mind the box bottom is the target. When done a few hundred times were the dice just bounce hit foam and die, your ready to try it again at the casino. Softness is key with little to no rotation of the dice in the air when tossed. Trust me you’re going to know when the dice leave your hand if it’s going to be good or not.

      @@robertlukacs1762 and adding to what Robert has advised, it is also very important to focus on one spot on the table (landing spot) and also keep your fingers straight to the wall, as soon as you spread your fingers, you create a random throw where the dice will not go straight into the wall and back out. As Robert has said, practice, practice, practice!

      I've been setting for 20 years, and I have practice both setting and random. What I believe happens is you build so much faith and confidence in your setting, that you truly believe you
      can hit what ever your going after. It takes time and after time you will see what works.

      @@robertlukacs1762 You don't know if it's good any better than a random shooter. You wasted hours of time practicing something you can't do.

      @@brizzlex1919 you’re right there is no guarantees. But it builds confidence and control. And if that’s what it takes to get you to play then where is the harm. Knocking chips around with the dice, as fun as that can be, slows down the game and pisses players off.

    I used to go to the casino locally seven days a week after learned how to set the dice and would leave with $50 before I went to work on second shift and would leave when I made $100 on the weekends. I would bring $600 to win $50 and then leave for work and bring $1,000 to win $100 and leave the casino on the weekends. I would win 30 days a month doing this and setting the dice. One day a high roller was on the table that I was setting the dice on and I rolled six points. I rolled for 56 minutes on a packed table. The very next time I came to the same casino and tried to set my dice and with the same high roller at this crap table I was then told that I couldn't set my dice.

    Muscle Memory is what makes professional athletes and others. Someone working an assembly line develops muscle memory over time with repetition. Look at David on these videos dealing chips. I cannot even get my M&M's out of the bag without dropping them and this guy is throwing cheques around like an Olympian. Someone who sets the dice to mitigate the potential random is (in my opinion) wasting their time. Sure for short bursts you may win (or lose) but long term the game evens up to a nice 50/50. Well 55/45 with the house edge!
    Some people hate that the Casino has an advantage and want to take it away to fair up the game. Well it's gambling, hence you lay more to win less. If the casino was "Fair" it would be closed as it wouldn't make any more or at the very least break even. I'm sure in the past there was shady stuff going on. Gambling was a con job, but with legal regulations to protect both sides these "Mafia" places are long gone.

    • @maxbrass8725
      @maxbrass8725 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      It does not even up the game to 50/50
      If you can alter the odds of a 7 appearing from 1 in 6 to just 1 in 7 then you suddenly topple the whole house edge

If you winning they will try to find a way to piss you off one way or the other! They will hold the dice to long when you're hot but when you're losing you can't even get your bets placed before they're shoving the dice back in your face lol!
